Hello from the Grand Princess, Today we were in Pago Pago, American Samoa! It was nice to get there especially as we missed it last year (2022) when we were on the Majestic Princess as cruise ships where still banned from going there then. Our plan for the day after looking around the local markets was to go to 2 dollar beach. Which is now $5 USDpp to get in! We thought we would catch the local bus to there, as we have done that before! But after waiting over an hour for a bus!, a group of us decided to get a taxi. Two in our group wanted to go to Tess Barefoot Bar, so we decided that would be fine, but when we got there they wanted $130USD for a day pass!!! 😮 and it had to be prebooked!! So we ended up starting to walk to $2 beach when our taxi driver came along and give us a lift along the road. Once at 2 dollar beach, we found out they no longer sell any drinks or food! 😮 :(, but was told there was a shop 5 – 10mins along the road that sold drinks etc… The tide was going out so it was no good for snorkelling ☹ but mum and I had a swim. I then decided to go for a walk to find the shop, about 5 mins away, which I did!, so ended up buying two Pepsi and two beers for $5 USD. Then we got the Taxi back and headed to Sadie’s Bar then back to the ship! The weather was great! 😊

Hello from the Grand Princess, Today we where in Papeete, (Tahiti), French Polynesia. We had a nice day there. In the morning we have a look around the town, and in the afternoon, I went Scuba Driving again, which was fun! 🙂 As we sailed from Papeete we meet up with the Royal Princess, which was cool, but neither ship blow there horns 😰.

Hello from the Grand Princess, Tonight we have arrived in the Port of Los Angeles for a "Service Call" so we get get the ships bottom cleaned ready for her to cruise around New Zealand this summer. Tomorrow we move out to anchor in Los Angeles harbour so they can keep cleaning the underside of the ship.

Hello from the Grand Princess, We are currently rocking and rolling our way to San Francisco, California. We are currently experiencing 50 - 60knts! of wind and 4 meter seas! It has been hitting our bow. She has been handing it well. Since I wrote the above before dinner……, after dinner I was walking along deck 7 past the photo gallery when I noticed that a window had broken! 😮 , apparently it broke with the movement off the ship?. Any way the ship crew did a temp fix on the window and clean up the glass. It will be interesting to see how long it will be before they get a new pane of glass!, I am guessing her next dry dock!

Tomorrow Saturday (23rd September 2023) we board the Grand Princess in Vancouver, Canada to bring her back down-under 🙂. Internet access permitting (I hope it will be better then the Majestic Princess!, last year (2022) when we did her relocation cruise back to Australia/ New Zealand) I am going to try and give some updates on our journey from Vancouver, Canada to Auckland, New Zealand. We disembark the Grand Princess on the 17th October 2022 in New Zealand.
