The medallion is only shipped to US passengers with a physical address no PO Boxes.

They now ship to Canada as well.

I also discovered that once you select to pick up at the pier, you cannot change your mind to have it shipped.

Has anyone done the Captain's Wine Tasting? I would love to hear the details on that event.

In general, it's minute quantities of the lowest quality of wine onboard with several waiters and sommeliers making bad jokes.

the problem may be that the Canadian Port of Victoria (if your only Non-US Port)  may be your required the required Foreign Port under the Cabotage Act.

That would most definitely not be the issue. Debarking in Victoria would mean the PVSA doesn't even apply because you're no longer departing and arriving at a U.S. port.

The other concern is what happens if Victoria is missed?

Then the entire cruise would not be legal (unless thery substituted another Canadian port).

Apex was excellent in everyway. Beyond not so much

And on the flip side, Fine Cut was substandard on our Apex trip, while I have a friend who just reported that Fine Cut was excellent on Beyond.

As they say in investing, past performance is no guarantee of future returns.

Reserve Mini-suite/Mini-suite are glorified balcony cabins with no real perks.

We generally get mini-suites unless there's a huge sail on full suites. The size difference between a mini-suite and a balcony is greater than the difference between a suite and a mini-suite. I like the extra space of a suite, but as an Elite, I don't find the full suite benefits to be worth the extra money since a lot of them are duplicated by status benefits anyway.

extra mini bar if you are elite

You get the minibar regardless of status.

In the survey they ask if you have the credit card and if you don't, why not.

I took the survey and was not asked about a credit card. Perhaps because I'm not U.S.-based?

Does SilverSea have multiple tiers to match Royal and Celebrity?

    No tiers on Silversea.

I'm sure that any status matching would take years to implement.

There is an old joke attributed to Mark Twain, who apparently said: "The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco".

While it is often attributed to him, he never actually said that.

This unfortunately has some truth in that it can be quite cold and foggy.

That hasn't really been true in a long time. When I first moved to the Bay Area in 1996, there was fog 300+ days a year and the temperature rarely made it into the 80s. By the time we moved to Vancouver ten years ago, that was down to maybe 30, and these days, SF often sees temperatures into the 90s and 100s.

money saved book a few dinners in the special restaurants.

Or don't bother with the high-priced low-quality specialty restaurants and spend your money on something with value.
