Unfortunately you will have to play it by ear. What works for her might not work for another family or a second child. I would recommend taking any OTC you can think of and any special treats. If they are available they will be expensive on the ship.

Probably cosmetic changes. I know on the triumph, it looked like they got a new deck for the lido and such. Glory recently installed a sushi bar opposite of the pizza bar on lido.

The sushi bar? My son loves sushi. Is there a charge?

Orgially planned to arrive at the terminal around 11:30 or noon but our morning plans were scrapped. Rain is coming in and we are wondering what time security opens? We would rather wait at the terminal then out hotel room. Also if my husband is droping us off with the luggage and then parking our off site will we have to wait out side. That was the original plan but waiting in the rain is all wet.☺

Jane, you should consider writing a post recommending your favorite places at various ports. I would love to hear what you recommend for St. Thomas or assorted other ports. Really enjoyed your review.

It's so much fun watching "the run of the drunks" from my balcony cabin : - )

Majarosh- to quote my 12yo son "I can't wait to watch the pier runners."

We aim to be back on board an hour early and if we head away from the pier we head back with plenty of time to be on board. Freshen up get a drink and a snack and watch the pier runners.

I have heard from all of our excursions and all pick up with the tender or boat ports. The one I was really concerned with is a tour to Playa Mia in Cozumel. We port at 7am or 6 am local and they open at 9am local and we need to head back to ship by 2 local. I am sure it will all work out.

Costa Maya, Mexico is the same time zone as Florida, but does not observe Daylight Saving Time.

We sail on April 2nd.

I know the ship remains stays on home port time. Are the itenerary port times local or ship time. If it is ship time we will be poring into Costa Maya at 5am local.

We are cruising in a few weeks on RC Vision of the seas. My son is 11 and will be 12 in July. He is in middle school and most of his class mates are 12 and all of his best friends are also. That being said what are the chances us getting him into the 12 year old group? I am afraid he will be board senseless in the 9-11 group.

I have been researching Playa Mia Beach break and I have a couple of questions for anyone who has been.

1. If you go all inclusive with drinks are there servers that go around taking orders? I read somewhere you had to go to certain bars for your drinks if it was AI. Makes no sense.

2. Are the pools fresh water?

3. Are there lockers? if so do we need to bring a lock?

4. Our ship arrives at 7:00am and we are morning people. How early do they open?

When I redeemed some point on my reward card they reset the rates.

I don't catch this until I go to pay the balance and it is showing more than $1,000 more than what I booked. Not showing my deposit or the on board credits. It took 34 min, 4 different receipts, 3 transfers and I was chastised by the rep:eek:. Apparently I am not to go into my cruise info but go in to Countdown to Cruise to complete everything or check on things. Oh and she did not like that I only use chrome so the Royal sight did not want to let me on. I hope I forget all of this before the cruise.

My son is 11 and has been able to check himself out of the kids club on Carnival. I was wunderkind if it will be the same on Royal. Does anyone know?

OP, hate to sound like your mother....your post caught my eye because you are driving to Miami....if you have not done the drive through Florida Easter weekend, pack your patience and leave yourself plenty of time. I've been in some epic traffic in Florida Easter weekend when we could not avoid certain routes at peak times. :eek:

We are planing on leaving Atlanta by noon on Friday and stop in Orlando Friday night. Then up and out at 6 to Miami. its 10ish hour drive. 7 to Orlando and then another 3 Sat am. Does that sound do able?
