  1. We arrive back in Miami on January 28, 2024. It looks like this is the date of the Miami Marathon. Would I be able to make a 1:00 flight out of Fort Lauderdale? What time would be "safe" to book a flight out?
  2. This is through TripInsuranceStore. Policy 1 is $155 Policy 2 is $199 No regular health insurance that covers out of the country.
  3. Family of 4- (57,50,21,19) taking a West. Carribbean 7 day cruise. I have two policies I am deciding between. This is the first time I am purchasing travel insurance, so I am not sure how much I need. Policy 1: $250,000 Primary, Emergency Medical and $500,000 Emergency Evac/Rep. Policy 2: $100,000 Primary, Emergency Medical and $1,000,000 Emergency Evac/Rep. Which is better?
  4. When I go on the web or the app it is only showing 30% off for me. I have a 5 day cruise booked. I selected both cruisers and went to cart and checkout and it remained at 30%. What am I missing?
  5. Now that you know what you know, would you cruise on her again? What is your favorite class ship?
  6. Thanks for the Live review! Looking forward to it. How is it on the 14th floor? Do you notice much movement? Debating between the 14th or the 9th on Celebration. Which side do you see more of the shoreline? Port or Starboard? Looking at a Western cruise- I prefer to see the port instead of the ocean - which side on the Celebration is better for that? Port or Starboard?
  7. Any advice... I am debating between the 9th floor extended balcony port side or 14 floor extended balcony starboard side on the Celebration (not aft) I prefer to see the ports vs. the ocean when at port.... is starboard side better for this on the Western Itinerary? Additionally, when leaving port of Miami, which side has views of the coast? I am leaning towards the 14 floor but worried about getting sea sick. Any and all advice is welcomed.
  8. Thank you for all of the great pictures. Which cruise insurance do you use?
  9. I am trying to choose between the Eastern Itinerary - Amber Cove, San Juan, St. Thomas or Western Itinerary- Cozumel, Mahogany Bay, Costa Maya. Both are on the Celebration out of Miami. Family of 4- DD(22) DS(20) We have been to Cozumel, and we have done the forts at San Juan. We don't want to do the forts again. We generally don't do excursions and like beaches close to the port. Which itinerary should I choose? We would be open to an excursion if it is highly recommended.
  10. Looking at sailing on the Celebration out of Miami, Eastern Caribbean (Amber Cove, San Juan, St Thomas.) Should I book port side or starboard side and what are the pros/cons? Also, are the extended balcony cabins on Deck 14 covered? TIA

  12. I plan on purchasing cruise insurance separate from what Carnival offers (Allianz). Do I go through their website to purchase it? Which plan do I choose? Do I need to purchase the insurance before I purchase the cruise?
  13. You will only get $1.5 per point if you use it to pay for a Carnival cruise with a minimum of $1,500. You can apply funpoints towards Holland America but you only get $1 per point. There is a calculator on the Barclays app that you can use as a guide for redemption planning. Points may only be applied to an individual transaction once. From the App you select Rewards along the bottom, then select "Pay with funpoints." This will show you travel expenses that you have the option to pay with funpoints. From the "Pay with funpoints" screen, you will find the calculator option on the bottom for your redemption planning.
  14. Looking for opinions on the Ocean Suites on Excel class ships. I have only stayed on a balcony cabin on the Triumph (Sunshine) and Breeze. The last time I cruised was in 2016. Do the Ocean Suite balcony's on deck 9 lose their appeal because you are looking down onto another deck instead of the ocean? Does the lack of privacy on the Ocean Suites bother you? I was also looking at the corner Ocean Suites cabins that are a little larger, the OT Ocean Suites. These cabins seem to have even less privacy.... do you get used to it or is it not that big of a deal? I am considering not booking an Excel class because of the cons of the balcony or do the other advantages of the ship outweigh the the balcony cons?
