I love Regal!!!!! I've been going on her for the past almost five years when it first came out. I go on her 5 times a year. Great ship. Awesome crew. I like to say princess is a nice mix of age demographics. it's got a traditional but yet classy, casual feel to it. The food is excellent in my opinion. Great entertainment. You'll see plenty of families on board with kids, so it's not just an older crowd. I'm in my 30s, and have enjoyed always sailing with Princess for the past 15 years.

Princess will be doing a 14 night round trip LA (Sam Pedro is the pier ) Alaska on Golden Princess .Lots of ports included . This is a good one
I did the Golden for 4 weeks this past summer in Alaska. Whitier to Vancouver and vice versa. Great ship. Great itinerary.

I don't think they've gone up all that much in particular. It also depends on what ships you're looking so for example like when I went to book myself on the new sky and a chance it of course those prices are going to be higher because it's a newer ship. Keep in mind a lot of the other ships are getting The Medallion at it so they're raising the cost on that. But overall if you book early you can do, like everybody else has said fare. I always say a cruise is a luxury experience you're paying for a keep in mind you're paying for room and board and ports of calls. Something that's naturally not going to come cheap unfortunately. but in general to keep in line with competition I feel like everyone's also kind of raising prices all around but yet again that's because everyone's going bigger and better and more high quality of service.

All the way at the bow of the ship deck 8 or better known as the promenade after you go up the stairs. Front row seats.

Oh my goodness on the blood transfusion. Thank goodness for all those volunteers. I've been on board while in Alaska, where a passenger needed emergency surgery so while we were out to sea we turned around so a coast guard attendant could come pick her up and rushed her to a hospital on land.

Have a fabulous cruise!!!

We've almost always had OBC's given by the TA not appear on our account until about Day 2 onboard. OBC given by Princess shows up prior to boarding, but many TA credits do not. That appears to be what you are seeing.
This is all very interesting to me. My something newly learnt today.

I wouldn't worry at all I've traveled in and out of Seattle on the Ruby several times. disembarkation is super smooth and if you decide to take a taxi or Uber to the airport it's at most 25-30 minute ride.

If you're on a medallion cruise, you'll be given a medallion, which takes place of the old fashion cruise cards. Unlocks your cabin door, and links to your Credit card like the cabin let card. Medallion offers medallion high speed internet (works wonderfully, based off of your itinerary location), yes you pay to use it, unless your platinum or elite where you still receive you free minutes. to order your medallion when you get closer to your cruise you can download an app onto your smartphone or tablet called ocean ready. you feel that all of your travel documents and personal information on there and then there's a spot to order your medallion which is free of cost and when you get closer to your cruise it will be shipped.
-
Btw, this was the first time I've ever seen/heard about OBC that is not readily available from day 1 you step foot on the ship.
-
Yes. Obc can be used towards gratuities. Obc in general world as followed. Anything charged to your stateroom. Your nonrefundable OBC will automatically be used first, followed by refundable OBC. Afterwards everything else will be charged to the credit card you put on file.
-
I cruise Princess all the time. I have never ever heard of OBC that's not available starting day 1. I think you may have misunderstood something.

I hear the "control freak" bit, but such changes are not EZ-Air's doing. It's the airlines tweaking schedules to eke out the last cent of profit.
So whether they book the seats or you do, if the airline ain't flying that flight anymore...
Alaska air changed my EZ air flight. When I called to question, they said they cancelled my orginal flight, as there could different variables for the cancelled route. When they issued the new flight they did a lovely job on finding one equivalent. Did gave an additional stop on my route, but what to do. Anchorage is not one of those destinations where you can get a non stop from everywhere.

We booked EZ Air from Sacramento to London because we got the exact same flight numbers on Virgin Atlantic for less than 10% of any other booking service we tried. Hard to pass that up.
Yes. I've experienced the same as well.

I would have taken it.
Many have stated a balcony is nice, but the best views won't be there. You still would have had a balcony (partial obstruction). I've had partial obst. balconies and it's no big deal. AND you would have had an extra $300 each which would likely be refundable.
Agreed. Sometimes those labeled obstructed aren't actually obstructed

They will provide sharp containers to dispose of diabetic needles, just ask your cabin steward. There are plenty of sugar free deserts, but I would still fill out the dietary accomodations on your cruise personalizer. Let the matrid in MDR know of those same dietary needs, as they can recommend and make adjustments. Like others have mentioned, nice strolls on the promenade deck are great. I remember one time, my mom who was diabetic had such low blood sugar I would run down to a bar for a Coke and would have them add grenadine to it. They are very accommodating onboard.

I prepaid my gratuities at the lower rate. What will show up in my on board statement? Will it show the new daily rate and credit the total or just the lower rate I paid?
If you prepaid, you're fine. Should not show up on your stateroom account, as you paid prior to your sailing

We are all flying in the day before so hopefully we won't miss the cruise. I hope we won't miss the day in Copenhagen either since none of us have ever been there.
Copenhagen is lovely. Lots to see and do. You are going to love, as well as the Baltic sailing. Amazing itinerary. One of my most favorite cruises to date.

Do downside at all. All positive. My TA and I are always able find comparable prices and hand select the flights. It's a nice safety net, God forbid your flight is delayed, or you missed a flight let's say day if cruise. Princess will pay for your next flight to next port of call for you to meet up with the ship. Any cruise I take that's not in FLL where I live, I will only do EZ air for that leave of mind.

I've had during holiday sailings where Princess has called me asking to give up my cruise for a 100% free cruise with an upgrade from balcony to mini suite, as they have overbooked sailings. As much as as I love free, and upgrades.... I work off. School teacher schedule, and j value my vacation time especially my annual holiday cruises to help unwind. This is when I wish I were retired so I could take advantage of these kinds of opportunities.

Not advisable because last second there might be no more bookings due to life boat capacities in her category.
Do it all the time, never had that problem. Added a second guest to my already booked cabin whether it's 2 months prior to sailing or 4 days prior. Grant you I don't think the OP is looking for that close of a call if adding an additional pax. (4 days prior)

Just put down the one deposit for your granddaughter. You can always add people to your booking last second.
First time on princess

Definitely a more relaxed vibe. Like skinight mentioned, there's no fancy / eye-catching stuff like the rock climbing walls, ice rinks, ziplines or waterslides. However like the other lines they have production shows, trivia's, bingo, karaoke, gameshows, along with other activities.
