If looking for info on the Marriott in St. Kitts, we were there two weeks ago. It is/was still early in their season so we almost had the beach to ourselves. The sand is soft and clean, and chairs are comfy and nice. We had a great day relaxing. The water wasn't as clear/pretty as it was on other areas of the island, but it was great just to sit and relax. Had a nice breeze all day and it was wonderful. Short taxi ride from the port. I'd recommend if looking for a beach day away from the crowds.
Thank you Alicia!! I am getting married on the beach there Dec. 15th so my fiancé and I look for any info we can find hahaha. Really though it will be an amazing day no matter what.....can't beat an 8 day cruise with a wedding in the middle of it!!:D Love that it may not be crowded and that the sand was nice. Take care, Jim

Hey Jim [emoji4]Thanks for your kind words, I am really enjoying this cruise and the opportunity to report LIVE. Unfortunately the weather was quite touch and go in the morning, it was raining on and off, so we decided to forgo the day pass to the Marriott. We are back in St. Kitts in February so probably will try again!
As for Chops, I personally really want to go, but the others in my group are not so keen.....looks like that will have to wait until February as well.
I'm really enjoying today, just lazing around (literally on my bed) watching the world sail by......pure bliss.

Totally understandable :) We are obviously doing the sunshine and beautiful weather dance for Dec. 15th hahaha but no matter what we'll be getting married in paradise so what will be will be! Your description of lazing around watching the world sail by is precisely why I love sea days. There's something deeply relaxing about seeing nothing but ocean and then six hours later it's still nothing but ocean!! Love it. Thank you for the reply and enjoy. Jim

Love love love following along Robyn and thank you for all your work. You had mentioned doing the Marriott in St Kitts but I didn't see anything in your review so I am assuming plans changed. Definitely looking forward to your views on Chops if you make it there as we are doing our wedding reception dinner there. Hope the weather clears and you enjoy the last days.....we love sea days at the end of a cruise to just unwind completely. Take care, Jim

Wow! Congrats on your upcoming wedding, how exciting! You may be interested to know that the Marriott is where we plan to spend our day on St.Kitts! [emoji4]
Stay tuned for those pictures!!

Love that I found this review today as a group of 30 of us will be onboard 12/10/16 for this exact itinerary. Even more fun is that on day 5 of the cruise I'll be getting married on the beach at the Marriott in St. Kitts!!!! 8 days on our favorite ship, best friends and family and coming home with a wife.....gonna be awesome. Looking forward to the review and thank you Robyn.

Am I understanding this post correctly in that RCCL now allows carry on wine and no corkage fee to drink at dinner??
-
So the OP is angry because he paid less money than someone who booked during the 'sale'? I'm sure RCCL would allow him to cancel and book at the higher price if it will help him feel better :D
-
Totally wasn't expecting these kinds of responses. I am paying 100% for my own wedding, and while I don't mind helping others out (always giving money to charity), this is just something that I have chosen to do. I'm not budgeting much for a dress, so it's not like my parents are paying $10,000 for a dress. At that point, it would turn into their business, not mine.
We haven't picked a cruise itinerary yet, but were thinking of either doing an Eastern or Western Caribbean one.
If you would be so kind please post what kind and color of flowers you'll be using, a copy of your vows, pictures of the rings and also a detailed breakdown of all expenditures for the wedding so complete strangers can ridicule and mock the decisions you are making concerning YOUR wedding. Frickin pathetic!!!
Hope you have a beautiful ceremony and wonderful cruise and make the memories that you and your husband will never forget. Enjoy:D

I traveled to Alaska for a photography workshop and while in Seward met a girl who worked for RCCL. She worked at the port checking passengers in and handing out Sea Passes etc. The way she explained it to me was she worked approximately five hours a shift one day a week and only during cruise season in Alaska. For that she was paid an hourly wage and for every "season" that she fulfilled her contract she got a free 7 day cruise on any RCCL ship she wanted to cruise as long as space was available. She had nothing but positive things to say and was starting her third year with the company at the time I met her. Her husband was very positive about it as that was how they were able to go on a honeymoon!:D Not sure if things have changed since then but that's how it was explained to me.

Sorry
Quite pretty!! Thank you.

We sailed Dec 7th on Freedom last year. The large decorations, like Christmas trees and geust relations deco, were done. During the week they added the Poinsettias to complete the look. You can see some pictures in my FOS review, if you want a sneak peek... :)
Thank you for the link!! I will go through all of it and look forward to seeing your pictures :) This is going to be a family and friends cruise plus my girl and I are getting married on St. Kitts so it will be fun to have Christmas pictures in addition to the ship and wedding pictures. We are bringing our photographer with us so we'll have 8 days of pictorial documentation of an exciting week hahaha:D Thank you to all who replied and happy cruising!!! Jim

They start decorating the day after Thanksgiving, and it takes days before they are done.
Thank you. I'm guessing then that there will be a fair amount up by the time we get onboard and even more 8 days later so that is wonderful. Definitely looking forward to seeing the ship decorated even though we won't be onboard for Christmas.

603.................but it's my wedding cruise so the time to save and plan will be needed!!
-
....appear on the ships?? Will be cruising on Freedom Dec. 10-18, 2016 (oh my god that's so far away!!!) and was wondering will the ship be decorated already or does that happen after we get off the ship and only the folks who pay that holiday premium pricing get to see it?? It would be fun to see the tree and the decorations plus the pictures would be fun. Hoping you Christmas cruisers will be able to help me out. Thanks all!! Jim

Freedom is a great ship and that itinerary is my favorite precisely for the two sea days at the end of the cruise. Get all the islands and running around and cabs etc etc done by mid week and then just sit back and watch the ocean go by---Love it!!:D
-
She was my first and I was hooked before we left port the first day! Nice to see her looking good and sailing to some amazing places.

Ours favs are:
1> Schooner Bar
2> Bull and Bear Pub
3>Viking Crown Lounge
4>Boleros
This is my exact list and order so I'm just gonna quote ya!!

The moment the ship clears the end of the jetty and enters the ocean at sail away........my favorite moment of every cruise.

No. That is a drink I love but cannot get on a ship. In RCCL's defense though to be a true Painkiller it must have Pussers Naval Rum and fresh ginger root as well as coconut milk, not Pina Colada mix hahaha so it doesn't make sense for them to stock all that for the couple of us who occasionally cruise and want a Painkiller. :). If you're ever on St Johns try Shipwreck Landing, very nice and authentic Painkillers plus the bus ride is fun!

I guess posting in the middle of night when I can't sleep is bad! I meant to say fresh nutmeg, no idea why I typed ginger! Oooops.

I've sailed in 9342 right next door and while not a JS the room, balcony and location were wonderful! Very short walk from the stairs or elevator, quiet, great views fore and aft. Would book that location again in a heartbeat. Enjoy your cruise and an absolutely wonderful ship! Take care, Jim

First off my condolences on losing your Mom. Hope your final cruise with her will be special.
I don't know the answer to your questions but am interested in any info provided as I have my will written that I wish to be buried at sea from an RCCL ship. I know Trainman on these boards buried his wife at sea and may be able to give you some information. His account of that cruise was one of the most moving threads I've read on these boards. Take care, Jim

Pack everything you believe you need to take and then remove 2/3 of it and leave it home.
Don't try to see every show, go to every talk, take part in every activity. There is so much to do that you will forget to relax.
Those are my top two for new cruisers, enjoy the anticipation and planning but enjoy the cruise even more. Freedom is a phenomenal ship and Eastern is the way to go so well done!

Freedom of the Seas. Perfect size, great crew, leaves from Port Canaveral which is a super easy port to use, just a really great ship.
Medical emergency on Freedom of the Seas.

It's refreshing to see you both worried less about the change in itinerary and more about the patient......willing to bet if you head down to the guest service counter you can find the exact opposite as there will be somebody pitching a fit and demanding free stuff/rebates/obc etc etc etc. Thank you for the updates and humanity!!
