  1. As long as there's a mouse of some kind, I'm OK. Thanks, everyone. My husband is bringing his tablet and I'll have my Kindle.

This time next week, we'll be walking around Prague!:)

I am anxious to hear how you like your trip. We are hoping to book an Ama Waterways Prague to Budapest cruise in 2015.

  2. On the AMA Waterways European cruise boats, do the in-cabin computers have a wireless mouse, or do I need to bring my own? I just haven't gotten the 'swing' of not using a mouse.

We were on the AmaCerto last spring and there was a mouse. I can't remember if it was wireless or not.

  3. For some time I've been hoping to take a Danube River cruise. My wife and I have enjoyed a number of ocean cruises, but never a river cruise. Unfortunately, friends we have connected with recently who have also been on numerous ocean cruises have turned my wife off to river versions with their tale of the one time they tried one. Apparently it was a few years ago on Viking, on a new ship. They complain that the mattress on their stateroom's bed was very thin and uncomfortable. They also say their experiences in the dining room were not good because the other passengers, many of whom were apparently traveling in groups, were not friendly, even refusing to allow them to sit at a table when approached. (They weren't too enamored of the food, either.) I fully realize this is a sample of one, but my wife has never been as enthusiastic about a Danube cruise as I anyway, and now with this input starting a couple of years ago, she is totally disinterested. What can I tell her to offset this unhelpful information from (admittedly very good and nice, and not especially particular, normally) friends?

We had an absolutely magnificent experience on the AmaCerto for our Tulip Time cruise last year. The service was superior, food was great, fellow passengers were wonderful, excursions were top-notch, and the ship was perfect. If there was one negative (and this is very minor), it would be that there was nowhere to go after dinner to talk to fellow passengers, since there was entertainment in the lounge (it was April and too cold to be on the top deck at night). We hope to book a Danube cruise with AmaWaterways in 2015.

  4. Just off EX today -- as a Diamond member. Our time to disembark was 9:45. We were called a few minutes early. We were off the ship, through customs, and in our car in a bit under an hour. I thought that was very good. Freezing rain and all, the staff, in my opinion, did a great job with disembarkation. Hope this helps.

We were in this group and had the same positive experience. 15-20 minutes, maybe to be on our way to the car.

  5. Amy we were in Vienna last Christmas Eve and though I checked online and it said many things were closed, including the practice of the Spanish Riding School, virtually everything was open as usual. We had a morning tour, and I chose the riding school, and then came back into town in the afternoon.

The shops started to close around 2.00 ish, it varied, and the markets were very busy in the morning, and slowly as the crowds left (it was horrible rainy day) they started to close with the food vendors being the last.

All the museums etc were open for morning walking tour, it was just soggy and very very cold.

We were on the AmaCerto in April and absolutely loved it! I am reading your posts with interest, as we would like to book this itinerary on the same ship or a sister ship. The crew was fantastic (Miklos, Catalan, Sabi, and of course, Captain Tom. Is Justin still the CD? We took 2 bike tours in Holland and loved them both, though it was very windy. Can't wait to sail the family again.
