  1. We just made Prime this summer, and before we left the cruise, there was an offer on our bed for a 10-day New Zealand cruise in March out of Sydney, Australia. The 7 day last year and the two 7-day cruises we took this summer were both from Casino Royale, and that was before we made Prime. Not sure how it works, and I know people who have played as much as we have and haven't really gotten much of anything. I'm just riding the wave for as long as it goes... Also, for the three seven-day cruises we took in the last two years (two of them back-to-back), we got two cabins -- one for each of us, and took family. They don't care as long as each cabin has one Casino Royale recipient booked. We just swapped cabins after we were on board, which didn't bother them at all.
  2. I was on the Allure in August. The earliest you could get a reservation for MTD was 6:30 p.m. If you don't make a reservation, you will be standing in a long line. You can make a reservation at the desk in the dining room after you board. We had reservations for all of the shows, BUT OCSC Mike is correct. Get to the shows early enough and you won't have a problem (except the adult comedy show).
  3. It all depends who is next to you. We had a connecting cabin on the Allure in August, and heard absolutely nothing. If you get a bunch of kids next door, it would probably be different.
  4. In August on the Allure, my husband was not feeling well, so I ate in the main dining room and the staff put together a complete meal for me to bring back to the cabin.
  5. Also, the crew on board isn't going to have any real information as to why there aren't limes. If they're giving you excuses, it's because they don't know why they aren't there. They just know they aren't.
  6. There is a non-smoking side and then there is also a no-smoking room that is separate. There are definitely table games in the room, and I also believe there are in the main casino on the non-smoking side.
  7. You can find your personal offers by going to clubroyaleoffers dot com. It will tell you what's available to you. Your offer may have been for an amount off of your total.
  8. Thanks much. I have booked the Great Southern. I have to book a hotel for two nights after we get back into Sydney. Do you know if it will easy to get from the Great Southern to the airport??? Thanks, again!!!
  9. We were in a connecting room on the Allure last month, and we heard nothing.
  10. Vacation Rentals by Owner. Great prices and nice, clean places to stay.
  11. Hi Folks - We're on the Ovation on March 12th. I can't find anywhere which of the two ports we are leaving from. I know I have time to figure it out, but we're coming in a couple of days early, and I want to find a place to stay close to the port. Does anyone have (1) any idea which port we would be leaving from; and/or (2) a good recommendation on a place to stay (that won't break the bank). We're big fans of VRBO, and there are several nice places to choose from. I just want to make sure we don't choose something too far away. Thank you!
  12. I think the cruise directors, for the most part, do a good job, so I don't think it really matters. Funny -- we were on B2B cruises on the Allure in August, and we had two different cruise directors. I definitely liked the 2nd one better, but like I said, it didn't really matter that much.
  13. One more vote for Vision. Of all the cruises I have taken, that was the one I enjoyed the most. The ship is smaller, but it was great, and it wasn't crowded. I hope you and your friend have a wonderful time.
  14. Wow. Just...wow. So everyone who likes any of the meals in the MDR is just ignorant? Sorry -- I disagree. I haven't been on as many cruises as you, but enough, I think, to be able to have an informed opinion. I agree that the quality has gone down on some selections, but not all. Perhaps my palate is not as refined as yours, but I'm also not cruising for the food. Oh, and I just spent two weeks on the Allure in August, and the staff in the MDR was fantastic. Every. Single. Time. As I said above, I don't cruise for the food. While cruising with Royal, I have had so much fun on the ships with the people I love. I have visited Rome and Florence, Italy, St. Petersburg, Russia, Barcelona and Valencia, Spain, Estonia, Sweden, France, Finland, and more. In the spring, I'm going to Australia and New Zealand. In relaying all of the special moments I had in these amazing places, I not once stopped to complain about the food. Maybe that makes me simple and pedestrian (and no, I don't like bologna sandwiches). I cruise for adventures and experiences. The rest is gravy.
  15. Allure - August 13th and August 20th -- Anything with Beef: 3/10 Other entrees: 7/10 Appetizers and desserts: 10/10
  16. To be honest, I have no idea. I think it has more to do with how much money you circulate through the machines. We play a fair amount, and on one cruise we broke even, and another we were down about $400. Worth it for what we got in return.
  17. We just did B2B on the Allure in August (13th and 20th). We booked through Casino Royale's free offers (we get them about once a week in the mail, but have only taken advantage of them one other time, last year, to take my parents to Bermuda). When I booked the Allure, I learned something interesting about these offers...you can (1) book two cabins if you and your spouse get separate offers in the same household; and (2) you can book more than one cruise from the same offer. I booked the second cruise first to go with my son and his girlfriend, and a week later, my parents told me they wanted to go on another cruise, so I called Casino Royale and they said that it was fine to use the same offer for a second cruise. We only had to pay taxes and port charges for the 8 free cruise fares. I'm not going to go through a whole review of the ship or the cruise, but I can say that the entertainment was fantastic, the service was fantastic, and the food was okay, but there has definitely been a significant drop in quality with the RCL trying to hook people into dining packages. The good part was on the second cruise, we knew what to order in the MDR from our experience on the first cruise. The ship was clean and well run. The ports were meh, but we didn't care -- we were more interested in time on the ship. Interestingly, - we had a different cruise director on each cruise. The bad part was that we ended up getting sick towards the end of the second cruise. I woke up with a sore throat, and called medical to ask about getting a Covid test. They told me to come down, but when I tried, I couldn't find them. I had to pull someone from the dock to walk me through the crew area to where the medical was. I took a test and it was negative. I didn't have any other symptoms at the time. I spent the last two days resting during the day and going out to dinner/shows at night. When I got home, I was still not feeling great, so I took a test when I got home. Guess what? That second line showed up in about five seconds. It was my first bout of Covid, and although the symptoms got a bit worse (small fever, throat, and cough), other than having to isolate, it wasn't too bad. I felt terrible about exposing others to it, though. I did get boosted two weeks before we cruised. So did my husband and my son's girlfriend, who also got it. I'm not sorry we went -- we had a great time, but it is a reminder that Covid is still around, and from what I hear, on an uptick. We did receive another free offer from the casino while we were on the first cruise, so we are booking a 10 day on the Ovation for New Zealand in March. I'm already excited. Stay healthy and cruise on....
  18. We are doing a back-to-back on the Allure this summer. Same itinerary. It just worked out best for us because we're taking each cruise with different family members. I would probably prefer to do different itineraries, but I love the Allure, so I'm not worried about having a good time.
  19. Does anyone really need their cabin cleaned more than once a day? How dirty are you?
  20. I was wondering the same thing. That was really fun.
  21. In August, we are doing back-to-back cruises on the Allure. We are, however, in different cabins, and are traveling with different people (each of us has a cabin booked for each cruise per two Casino Royale cruise offers). My question is -- do we have to shlep our baggage off of the ship since we're not in the same cabin, or is there somewhere on the ship where they will hold our luggage (with the new cabin luggage tags) while we get off the ship and deliver it to the new cabins? We've never done this before, so any insight would be appreciated. Thanks.
  22. Definitely the Allure. So much so that I'm spending two weeks on her this summer.
  23. I've never booked a Casino Royale cruise this way. We gets cards in the mail constantly for free offers. I think I have 1465 tier credits and my husband has 1647, and we have two cabins booked on two cruises this summer from free offers. We never got a "certificate," but we are always getting these offers. Did you go to their offer website to see what you're eligible for? https://clubroyaleoffers.com/
  24. So we got two offers (one for each myself and my husband) for free cabins for two. We've done this before, and booked one cabin for him and my dad and one cabin for me and my mom. This was fine, and we just swapped cabins, but what I want to know is -- we're doing this again, and I've already booked. One cabin is for my husband and my son, and the other is myself and my son's girlfriend. Ideally, it would be better if we could swap the reservations, so my husband and I are listed together, and my son and his girlfriend. They want the deluxe drink package, and the only way they can get it is to be listed in the same cabin (my husband and I don't drink that much). Has anyone had an experience with this? Does one of the people whose name is on the offer have to be listed in the second cabin? Our travel agent last year gave us that impression. Thanks for your thoughts.
