  1. Might as well wait until AT LEAST 11, since departing passengers will still be there, clogging up the works. Give them time to leave, and try boarding around 11-11:30...should be able to walk right on!

Not even close. We arrived at the parking terminal, where you have to also drive thru to drop off, at 11 and it took us a 1/2 HR just to get into the parking area. We then waited outside for 15 min before they would even let us in the bldg. because there too many pax already inside. Had we not been in the Haven, it would have been another 1/2 hr to 45 min to get thru security and check in. If I had to do it again, I would arrive at 10:30 or 2:00.

  2. I am trying to figure out how I feel about suite class being entirely separate, as that is the class that I book. My DH and I have been talking about that concept and whether we would like the class distinction or not? What are your opinions?

I just came off of a 3 day cruise on Norwegian Epic, a cruise we sailed specifically to try out the Haven. Having a separate area was wonderful. It's not like we consider non-suite people riffraff or anything (although 3 day cruises in the spring tend to attract booze cruisers). It was just so much more quiet and secluded. When we ventured into the regular common areas it seemed very claustrophobic and crowded. Of course the Epic carries over 4k passengers so it was crowded. Still, it was nice to have that area where only people who booked cabins in the Haven could go. Every once in a while there would be someone who would make a snarky comment in the elevator, but then they didn't pay half of what I paid to stay in that area. Given the huge prices for Edge suites so far, I don't sweat people who pay that much for getting their privacy and perks.

  3. We recently got back from a Norwegian Epic cruise out of Port Canaveral. The sheriff's boat had to race forward to make a guy in a fishing kayak get out of the way of the Epic. People have no clue. No one should be jet skiing or kayaking on the Port Canaveral inlet period. In addition to cruise ships, other large boats come and go all the time.

  4. I was looking for AQ too -- the deckplans seem to show the colouring that was previously used for Aqua, so I wonder if this is part of the limited release. On the sailings I looked at (Feb 19), I also couldn't see the bulk of the new suite classes and I find it hard to believe they've sold out.

I think you're right. There are more sailings online now than when I booked. The April 2019 has Aqua (as well as Concierge, etc).

  5. Planning a trip and have a cabin on deck 9, but would like to wait list one on deck 11...it is way in the back , either 1133 or 1130 (Aqua Class) any opinions?? Just not sure if there is a clear view or the cabins along the side block some view. Thanks for the heads up. This is my first time at this.

While 1130 and 1133 are aft cabins, which is nice, you should know that there is absolutely no privacy on the balconies. They are right next to the exit doors to the stairway to deck 10. They are also much smaller balconies than the the center three cabins.

If you do opt for the deck 9 A2 cabins, stay away from the ones under the pool deck unless you have no issues with noise from above.

  6. I also stayed in 1138 on the Summit on a 2 week Canada/New England cruise. MUTS is not an issue as long as you are inside with the balcony door closed. But if you want to use that lovely aft balcony and MUTS is playing, forget about peace and quiet. Then again, noise from the bar below on 10 is also there during the day, although that didn't bother me because it thinned out at night. Fortunately for me, there were many nights it was too cold for MUTS. But for a warm weather cruise I won't book an A1 on a M class with MUTS. It really depends on HOW sensitive you are to noise. I am very sensitive to noise.

  7. I'm glad to hear this. I wouldn't anticipate too much noise being underneath the solarium, but I think being under the buffet or pool deck would drive my husband insane. It sounds like the balcony will be ideal, though, so perhaps we'll look at a room under the solarium and hope for the best.

I stayed in 9099 on Connie and the noise from the pool above was terrible in the early AM with chair scraping and heavy footed joggers. Also, if there are any pool parties on deck expect to stay awake until the band is done. Someone else on our cruise stayed in A2 farther back under the buffet and didn't hear a peep. I am very noise sensitive and would never stay in a cabin under the pool deck again. Same thing on S-class.

  8. You are correct in that bedroom does not have any view to the balcony. The CS balcony is very wide (1/4 circle) but not very deep. It has plenty of room. Only negative I found is that the tub has a big step down when getting out of the shower (to accommodate the motor for the jacuzzi). Everything else about the CS is great, in my opinion.

  9. I would make a reservation for your second choice. Once you get on board if you can switch to your first choice, do that. If you can't, then are least you have something reserved. Unless the meal is at teppanyaki, I would just make the reservation for 1. I've never seen any indication that they combine groups (outside or teppanyaki). So a reservation for 1 will still get you sat at a 2 top. Would just change it to 2 onboard.

Excellent recommendation. I hadn't thought of that. I did have an email from the shore concierge, but I guess I deleted it. Otherwise, I would contact them. Thanks again.

  10. My DW and I are going on the Epic next month staying in the Haven. I made specialty restaurant reservations for all but one night. I left that one up to DW to decide. However, by the time she decided, eithet a restaurant was fully booked online and no longer appeared in the dining options, or our 2nd and 3rd choices will only accept reservations for 1, 4, or 8 people. What are my options? Can I make a reservation for 4 but only show up with 2 people? Or do they sit us with 2 other people? Can I still book a table for two with the Haven concierge onboard? I am new to Norwegian and so appreciate any advice on what to do. Thanks in advance for your help to this newbie.

  11. I am considering a City Stay in Sydney with the cruise line. My plans of trying a tour company fell through. Please give my your feedback if you booked one before.

I'm not sure anyone directly answered your question. I believe you're referring to booking a Sydney City Stay through Celebrity. I looked into this when I was planning our Aus-NZ cruise (plans since got cancelled). It was very expensive compared to what you could plan on your own. I think if you're not worried about expense then it's a good option, but it was way more than what I was willing to pay when spending a little time planning far enough in advance was going to be equally as good at a fraction of the price.

  12. You won't have an issue with noise from below. Noise from above is another issue. It depends on the weather but the movies/shows shown on the Rooftop Terrace movie screen can get pretty loud at night. Not a problem if you're inside with your balcony door closed. But if you like enjoying quiet evenings on your balcony, you will most likely be disappointed.

  13. As long as we have been sailing Celebrity (around 20 years) the announcements have always been released on a rolling basis, usually over nearly a month's period. This is nothing new.

BTW, if the pricing is anywhere near what was released today, I wouldn't get too excited about it. :)

This is the schedule that I posted on another thread yesterday. Someone has said Caribbean is also mid December

29 November: Alaska, Hawaii, Pacific Coast and Europe.

6 December: Panama Canal, Australia, and South America.

13 December: Asia, Bermuda, New England

New Hawaii cruises are not out yet.

  14. I called at 8AM USCST looking to book Solstice for Honolulu to Vancouver and every cabin location that I was remotely interested in were either "already booked" or "guarantee only".

Needless to say I booked nothing.

The April 2018 Honolulu to Vancouver has been out for a long time. I have been booked on that cruise for nearly 6 months. The Solstice cruises past Sep 2018 are not out yet. That would include Honolulu to Vancouver in April 2019.

  15. the only aft cabin available to me was 1130 so i booked it. but i read lots of reviews about it and the lack of privacy due to the staircase overlooking the balcony. and also, it looks claustrophobic due to the fact that it's a long narrow balcony. and they said there's noise from the movie above. i watched the ship on a sailaway from ft lauderdale a couple of weeks ago, and i clearly saw the cabin, the stairway, the movie screen above and the canvas roof covering the sunset bar below. the only great aft cabin is 1140. it has a larger balcony than the other aft cabins. maybe 1138 is ok but..........after all my research i gave up the cabin for a port side aqua cabin number 1105. port because its a southbound coastal cruise from vancouver to los angeles. i always wanted to have an aft cabin, but this one wan't the greatest so rather than be disappointed, i opted out. i'll try again for 1140 on the next m class cruise i take.

if you have 1140, consider yourself blessed by the gods!!!!

Hi David- Hope you're doing well. We got back from a Summit Canada/New England cruise last month. We had 1138. The person above who indicated rough water caused a lot of issues with drawer noise, etc was spot on. We had one rough night due the remnants of Hurricane Matthew and boy was it noisy. We did everything we could think of to jam things in drawers, etc. to keep them from banging. We even had to use the Celebrity umbrella to jam it between the bathroom door and the closet door. 1138 has a section of the balcony that was very private and part that wasn't. 1130 had 0 privacy. I could never really relax on the aft balcony, either, due to noise from the oceanview bar below, or from the rooftop terrace movies from above. I'm afraid you are going to have noise issues in 1105 as well. In my case, it was a fairly cool weather cruise so there weren't many nights when movies were playing. But when they did, the was no quiet to be had on the balcony. It was no issue with the balcony door closed, but why have a balcony if you can't enjoy it? If your cruise is a warm weather one, expect to hear the rooftop movies until late if you're out on your balcony. I'm done with the deck 11 A1 cabins now that the rooftop terrace movie screen has been added. -Mark

  16. I should add- -the room we moved from was 1139 to get into 1138. 1139 is the last port cabin of the A1 block of cabins. It doesn't face aft but it is about as far away from the rooftop terrace potential noise as you can get. The other thing to note on the SUmmit is that the stairs to the rooftop terrace only go up on the starboard side. I had originally worried that the stairs went up on both sides, but not so. So even though we didn't stay in 1139, I think we would've been ok from a noise perspective. You're less likely to get foot traffic overhead in 1139.

  17. I just finished my review on the Oct 2 Summit cruise. It will probably be published tomorrow. Anyway, other than a couple bad weather days and a muster from hell, it was a great cruise. My one piece of advice is to book the last cruise of the season as that will be your best bet at seeing fall colors. Ours was the last of the season and even we didn't see colors much until Quebec. Even on the way back, the leaves had not changed in Boston.
