You will be right at home on the Pride I have no doubt and be sure to earn your ship on a stick on the "Big Bang Theory" trivia on Saturday your second sea day at 4:30pm at the Piazza cafe deck 2 fwd :)

Every time I see PIAZZA, I read PIZZA. What does that say about me???!

Page 3, post 57, shows the Sunset Garden (deck 3). OP says he has never heard music there (yay!!!) and there are portholes looking out to the sea.
See you soon.

What is the Garden Area?
I was going to copy the email I sent to my cabin mate, but the pictures don't come out. I will search back to where I found it and post again. Worth checking out, and my great thanks to OP for the information!!
Stay tuned.

The only thing that has been offcially announced by Royal is that Freedom will get the show Hairspray.
Which was TERRIFIC on Oasis.

Great overview and pictures. Thank-you for sharing. I have been on the Pride twice and will be on her in 5 weeks to bring her home to Baltimore. Petesweet I have been in the garden area many times I can show you were it is. Its a great quiet oasis.
Thanks. If anyone wants to find me, I will be in here--or where the food is!!

there was also a separate diver doing photography. photos were $70 and if you wanted that, a white wristband was given to those and more "photo attention" was paid to those guests, but she did take plenty of everybody in case you wanted to buy later. She was very knowledgable and not at all pushy about buying.
more..

I did this in Hawaii and really enjoyed it. Saved a lot of $$$ by putting a brochure picture in my scrapbook. No one knows it isn't me!!!:D

I heard no music on my multiple passes through there and you are correct, there are large circular porthole windows at intervals along both sides.
Absolutely PERFECT! Thanks.
And the setup for Guy's Burgers is, as you say, a logical and wonderful improvement.

Booked two cabins at the same time, oceanview guarantee, traveling with immediate family. Carnival has assigned us cabins on separate floors, isn't that nice? One is a category 6B & other 6C. Even offered to take the lower categories as long as the rooms are nearby, don't even have to be next door to each other. For $300, they will downgrade us. Have been on over 25 plus cruises, 15 with Carnival, and I am a platinum carnival member. Totally aggravated with Carnival & their greediness.
Brenda, I think perhaps you don't understand what "guarantee" category means. You take your chances. I wouldn't even HOPE to get two cabins near each other when you book this category. Sorry for your disappointment.

Thanks for this great and timely review.
I was just about ready to jump in and ask about a quiet place to read when I came to your Sunset Garden post. Looks perfect! I presume (and hope) there is NO MUSIC there? Also, the pictures you posted look to have a possible porthole view at intervals. Is this the case?
Many thanks.

My preference is Royal first (LOVE the ships), Carnival second (have only been on her small ships), and NCL last. My reason? I LOVE traditional dining. If I want the other kind, I can get it on Royal and Carnival, but I cannot get traditional on NCL.
If I'm eating my meal and decide I want a condiment or something once the food has been served, it could be the end of the meal before I can get it. I guess that's my biggest problem about My Time Dining - or whatever it is called.
I have also found Blue Lagoon to be deficient in food selection (and taste) and service.
I do think NCL has the best Meet and Greet setup with officers joining us.
Bottom line: Just put me on a ship and I'm happy. If it's not the best one I've ever experienced, I'm still happy.:) Attitude is everything.
Happy sails.

Hello everyone,
I am new to Cruise Critic, but have been on reading everything and anything I can about the Quantum. We are going on March 1st and are soooo excited!
Thank you Radio for all the great pictures and info! I look forward to reading every word :)
Welcome to Cruise Critic! Valuable information here. I suggest you sign up on your Roll Call.
Happy sails.:)

Very interesting information. Thanks for taking the time to put it together.
Wonder how much of this is applicable to other cruise lines? I realize you have "inside information" from NCL, but perhaps someone can comment (especially RCCL and Carnival).
Happy sails.

Have a wonderful cruise. Hope you enjoy the ship as much as we did. I will try to go as far as I can by Thursday so you can see what we did.
Yes, take pictures by all means. After the cruise is over, all you have left are photo memories so take as many as you can.
Wish that's all I had left after my cruise last week. I found a few extra pounds somewhere!!:(

Anybody know if they could open their doors with their room keys in the affected area? Are you talking about all decks in that forward section?
We were in 7010. No problem with room key. As far as I know, the elevators were not compromised. Anyone with more information on that?

Oh thank God! Sorry I missed this post. Thank you for the update. At least our CC friends will get to go! Honestly, I'm still really sad. This was supposed to be a re-do of our honeymoon because THAT cruise sucked. :-/
I am sooo sorry about both occasions.

What is still unclear to me is if the main problems are water damage or electrical. Are those rooms damaged by water, or are the just without power? And what about the theater? Are the repairs mostly fixing an electric sub-station? I kind of think (hope) that once they get the electrical problems fixed, the rest of the stuff should be minor. Also, was this caused by a design flaw that could affect other Radiance Class ships?
No problem with our ocean-view cabin other than loss of power (in cabin and in the hall). Hard to pack in the dark:D. Woke up about 3:15 a.m. and checked bedside light, and it came on. Hall still dark when we debarked. From what I HEARD (you know what that means:rolleyes:), the water damage was discovered - and possibly confined to? - the theater.
Lovely cruise.

You'll love it, I'm sure. The pool is great, even not taking into account the swim-up bar. There's also a hottub, but we never got in since a group of people camped in it all day--I literally never saw any of them get out from 10:00-3:00, which seems a little crazy to me.
Cheers.
Probably doubles as a toilet.

I don't know for sure, as we never look for photos of ourselves, but I don't think they had that on Serenade yet. I believe my in-laws went to look for photos and they had to search for themselves.
Cheers.
Thanks. Outrageous outfit, here I come!

It has been several years since my delightful cruise on the Serenade, and I am wondering if they have updated their photo shop to use facial recognition technology? I loved the way they did it on the Oasis and Allure, and I hope all the ships will soon use it.
(I have a special reason for asking:D If I have to find my boarding picture(s) by looking through thousands, I wear something outrageously distinctive upon boarding. Tip: That helps!)
Very nice review, Paul. Thank you for taking the time to post it.
Happy sails.

5. Central Park. If you were to ask me my favorite neighborhood on Oasis, I would have a hard time choosing between the Boardwalk and Central Park. I mean, take an already impressive ship, add in the sun shining down on your head on the EIGHTH deck (okay, a ship that has more than 8 decks) with a real, live park – with winding paths with bridges, birds chirping (fake, but still!), and all that gorgeous greenery! I have been on a ship and not felt like I was on a ship before, but this REALLY transports you to another place all together!
We upgraded from an inside cabin to a Central Park balcony, and it was lovely. In the evenings, there were beautiful classical serenades.
I agree that this is a special place!

Thanks for taking the time to write this review I always love to read about other peoples cruise experience! I also appreciate the comparison and agree that all ships have their good and bad points. We are cruising on the Breeze in June doing a B2B and can't wait. Our last cruise was a 15 day on the Miracle so we are going from one extreme to the other (small ship vs large ship) but anytime I'm on a cruise all is great .
Thanks again for the review looking forward to the rest
Jeff
Sounds like me, Jeff. Went from the Allure to our fifth cruise on Carnival Fantasy. Loved both. Cruising enjoyment depends on one's ATTITUDE!
Happy sails.

Very interesting and (apparently) fair comparison. I haven't been on the Dream, but your comments help me to decide in the future.
I cruise mostly for the ship, and I have to say the Oasis and Allure are magnificent experiences.
Happy sails.:)

Eager for you to board "our" ship. We won't be spending any time in NO, but love the Serenade.

This is Why I Book ES
in Carnival Cruise Lines

You have answered the very question I was about to ask. No way would I ever use a great deal of OBC.
I have never booked this rate but may try it sometime.
Happy sails (and so VERY HAPPY for OP).:)
