  1. Cruising in February 2020. Will be driving to FLL . Would like to find a motel/hotel that we could stay pre cruise and leave our car there. Not wanting to spend a lot of $$$. Suggestions from those of you who have actually done this would be appreciated . Shuttle to the port would be a plus.

  2. Thinking of booking a cruise in February of 2020. We have pre existing conditions so we would have to get insurance the time of booking I believe. Is there insurance that you can purchase at final payment (at that time we would be fairly sure we would be going) and still be covered for pre existing ?

  3. Best Western Plus Airport WestHoliday Inn...MIA

    Quality Inn MIA Dorval

    NUVO Suites...MIA...West Dorval

    Sleep Inn ....Miami Springs

    Ramada ...Miami Springs

Couple in their early 20's...pre-cruise...low budget

I am the worried grandmother trying to help. All unfamiliar with Miami.......

    Coments?

  4. No!

Promotions are excluded on this category and not recommended if you have specific deck & window preferences, proximity to elevators, etc.

So a sail away rate is just a better rate...u can’t pick a cabin...no take five or free at sea?

    First time cruising ncl!

  5. For us, the main shortcoming of the Epic is the curved walls in the staterooms, and the odd shaped bed that I'm an inch or two too tall to fit on. If you carefully select your cabin (zoom in on the deckplans, and you'll see the curves -- you want a cabin with the curve on the OUTSIDE,) and you aren't too tall, there's a lot to like about the Epic. We're going on it again this November (transatlantic crossing.)

Curve on the outside🤔 Sofa or bed by the balcony?

  6. We live in Portland, and did a NE cruise on NCL (fair game, it was almost free as an employee benefit). The Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce folks greeting passengers looked at us a little funny when we told them where we were from, but we enjoyed it. What is it you'd like to know?

We are trying to decide between a road trip or cruise.

  7. I sailed her twice and loved it both times. The staff, drinks, food, entertainment were all wonderful. The only heartburn was disembarking at Port Canaveral and I have read that NCL will no longer be sailing their megaships out of PC because the port is not set up to handle that many people at once. I will say the pictures of LaCucina's food posted here and the ones posted by Doug in his Live Bliss thread look entirely different. They must have had a lousy chef on jams cruise.

Sure hope Epic is sailing out of PC on 02/02/2019! That's what our reservation says....

  8. Not quite ....

MA and MC have bed next to balcony and have bathtub.

MB and MD have bed closer to entrance and have shower.

MA & MB - Higher decks.

MC & MD - Lower decks.

So....final answer... No tub in MB? Couch next to balcony?

  9. The difference has something to do with cabin location not size.

I honestly couldn't tell the difference between our mini suite & any plain balcony cabin. I'd never pay extra for the alleged "upgrade" again.

This will be our first ncl cruise...we went with the mini suite because at the time of booking it was less than a regular balcony cabin. We are on deck 11 ..MA cabins are beside MB...they alternate ...

  10. I would suggest those with pre-existing conditions (like myself) consider Nationwide Cruise Insurance. You only have to purchase it within 24 hours of FINAL payment to have pre-existing conditions covered and the lookback time is only 60 days.

Have your ever had to file a claim with nationwide?

  11. If my cruise goes down after the tax free, and winds up cheaper, then I'll just rebook. Nothing to lose, but I have the cabin and the cruise that I want. I have 2 years to check fares.

If the cruise rate goes down after the tax free rate I would assume the taxes etc. would be added back in ? So there fore probably would not be much..if any decrease?
