  1. We stayed there as well for three nights before our cruise. Interesting architecture. This is before they were acquired by Marriott. Sheraton, Viña del Mar, Dec 2016
  2. A land vacation in Patagonia is a better way. I would love to visit Torres del Paine someday.
  3. I am not surprised that the Falkland Islands were added although my understanding is that it is a hit or miss port due to weather.
  4. I sincerely hope everything works out as your pre-cruise plans are being stress tested. My understanding is that FLL has opened, so that is good news. However I am sure that airline schedules are pretty messed up. Celebrity sailings out of Port Everglades: Sat Apr 15: Apex (7 night W Carib) and Equinox (9 night ABC) Sun Apr 16: Beyond (7 night E Carib) and Reflection (7 night E Carib) Mon Apr 17: Edge (14 night TA) Celebrity sailings out of Miami Mon Apr 17: Summit (5 night Carib clothing optional charter)
  5. In fact my advice is to those thinking that they might switch to 2023/24: you should seriously think about booking one of those 2023/24 cruises now (refundable deposit) if you have your heart set on a certain cabin for a certain sailing during that season. That way you avoid the possible rush from the crowd to rebook if the 2024/25 replacement sailings are not to the public's liking.
  6. I guess what is odd is that Celebrity will still be doing Valparaiso to Buenos Aires sailings for 2023/2024 (I count 5 sailings). For those of you on the affected sailings, I suppose that becomes your alternative if you want to stay with Celebrity and still do South America.
  7. I mentioned that Celebrity had done that before in my first post (sailed out of San Antonio). However the email you posted to start the thread said that Celebrity will convert your sailings into round trip cruises out of Buenos Aires. Or are you saying something else?
  8. I wonder if the "operational issues" in Valparaiso have something to do with this: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/features/2023-01-05/valparaiso-chile-is-graffitied-decaying-unesco-world-heritage-site?utm_source=website&utm_medium=share&utm_campaign=mobile_web_share
  9. You can only do so much. I would rather have a good plan suffer the bad luck of not working versus missing a cruise because of poor (or zero) planning.
  10. Iguaza Falls was offered by Celebrity for our Valparaiso to Buenos Aires cruise as well. I just remembered that the cost for my family of 4 would have exceeded the price of the cruise so we passed.
  11. There is no central web site to visit for this. Here are some suggestions: 1. Find a thread from last year (cruise review) or a "Live" thread from last year and see what was posted. It is common for people to post a photo of the daily planner (sometimes that post the whole thing) in a "Live" thread. If there is nothing there, you can post a request for that information 2. Find an Alaskan roll call from last year and post a request for the daily planner information. You can also watch for a Live thread to be posted for an Alaskan cruise for this coming season and ask for the information if it is not posted.
  12. Another reason to fly in a day or more before your cruise starts.
  13. The affected sailings have been removed from Celebrity's reservation system.
  14. I agree. When we did this cruise on Infinity back in Dec 2016, Buenos Aires was an overnight port. I wouldn't be surprised if that is one of the changes. I am not sure if an overnight stop at Buenos Aires is enough time to allow passengers to go see Iguaza Falls.
  15. Ok, that makes sense, it was an Antarctica cruise. So one theoretical option is for Celebrity to convert the affected cruises into Antarctica sailings. Equinox is already scheduled to do them in Jan and Feb 2025. If they choose not to put Antarctica on the itinerary, then Punta Arenas and the Strait of Magellan (and some of the fjord scenery) could be retained. We will see.
  16. I found the correct answer to your question.
  17. Summit has Ultra Deluxe Veranda staterooms (UV). They were formerly classified as Family Veranda (FV). There are 12 of them and they look out over the back of the ship. They are not Concierge class cabins however. I could have sworn I read a very recent thread from someone asking the same question and I thought that the answer was something different that I did not expect. I have been searching for it and cannot find it, yet.
  18. I have booked my family of 4 in those family cabins six times and it wasn't clear to me when I read your post yesterday that it would be a good fit in your situation. Not all the beds are equally comfortable and there is only one bathroom and it is of the standard size.
