  1. Thank you - they actually were full. He said that they have a school group that day that is taking up most of their resources. I'll try another one. Thanks again!
  2. Thank you both. I will give them a try!
  3. We are doing a Memorial Day cruise out of Port Canaveral. Due to work schedules, we cannot fly in until the morning of the cruise (I know, bad idea, but no other options other than not going). Our flight is direct and lands at 8:45. I researched and found the threads showing all of the shuttle options, but I just wondered if we'd be better off booking one of the shuttle services or just getting an Uber/Lyft?
  4. We decided to book a Memorial Day Weekend cruise, so I paid it off with this offer on 4/5. The credit posted on 4/11. I have the offer on DH's card too, but the only thing I have to use them for would be drink package / wifi. Has anyone used it on those type charges and still received the credit?
  5. When we've had a remaining credit balance, I've received an email with a new gift card of the balance. I believe if it's under $10, they donate it to St Jude.
  6. I've used the gift cards on Carnival many times and have always had luck adding them at the kiosks. We are going on Princess this summer and I was able to pay for our entire cruise with gift cards from aarp to save 8% - does anyone know if they have kiosks on Princess too? It just makes it so easy to add them to your account. Thanks!
  7. I see AARP sells Princess cards as well (they just have an 8% discount though) - can they be used basically like the Carnival - to pay on your booking, while on board, etc?
  8. Have you checked if they might still be on your gift card? If not, I don't know if there's a number to call and see if they can track when that funds on that card were used?
  9. How many days prior to sailing do you have to purchase the Cheers package to get the discount for purchasing before boarding? If cruise leaves on a Saturday, can you log in on Friday still and purchase, or is that too late and you'll have to purchase on board? Thanks!
  10. We're staying at the Atwell Suites on Friday night prior to our Saturday cruise. Any recommendations for a sports bar and grill type restaurant in the area? We'd love to watch the first game of the World Series while we eat if possible. Thanks!
  11. We're big Cardinals fans, so DH often has on at least a Cards hat - definitely a good conversation starter! I will admit, they are a bit hard to watch this year, but we keep putting ourselves through it! That is so neat that you ran into someone from your hometown!
  12. Oh, no - many pronounce it with the "s" at the end lol!
  13. Same - we are in Illinois about 45 minutes north of St Louis, so I usually say in Illinois, near St Louis. We are about 5 hours from Chicago.
  14. Do you have to book through AARP to get their OBC?
  15. I have IHG points, and I'm trying to decide between the Holiday Inn Port of Miami, The InterContinental, or the Attwell Suites Miami Brickell. They all seem like they are in a similar area - I see the InterContinental gets recommended quite a bit, but the Attwell has the free breakfast which is always nice. We've also stayed at the Embassy Suites by the airport, but we will be there for most of the day before the cruise, so thinking a hotel with a bit more within walking distance would be nice this time. Thanks for any advice / opinions!
  16. I've enjoyed reading everyone's comments, so I'll ad mine 🙂 We've sailed on 13 Carnival cruises and only repeated 1 ship Also sailed 2 Royal, 2 Princess and 1 NCL We've sailed out of 9 ports All have been 7-9 days other than our first cruise which was 4 days and a company sponsored trip We have ship replicas for every ship we've been on except Panorama (they didn't have any in stock) Lido is our favorite deck to stay on and will only get a balcony if offered a great deal - We aren't in our rooms that much to enjoy it for the extra cost Only stayed on ship in port one time (LaRomana) Only taken one ship excursion - usually just get off ship and find something to do, often taxi to beach We love sea days!
  17. True - we are actually meeting this afternoon to iron everything out. I'm with you though. My husband has some trips he can earn through work and that's how we are on them. We go to great places, but I don't research or plan anything. I just get on the plane and go where they tell us! It's so relaxing - even though I may do some things differently, it's so easy!
  18. Thanks! I'm sure we will! By the way - I love your user name!
  19. Thank you for that comment and I agree - I know my comment sounded negative and that's not really how I feel. I'm getting to travel with my family of 5 (my husband, daughters 26 & 25 and son 20), my sister's family (her, her husband and two daughters 18 & 14) and my mom. I just worry too much about it because my family travels more, so I tend to be the one to handle all of the details. My sister's family is not nearly as "go with the flow" as my family so things that we wouldn't worry about or wouldn't bother us in the least tend to be bigger deals with them. I know it will be a great trip and we always have fun together. We all live in the same town and see each other often. Thanks again for the reassuring comment!
  20. Thank you all so much! I'm lol-ing at the comments about wondering what the title was implying haha!! Both cabins do hold 3 people, so we're good there. I called to just officially have the rooms switched, but they said they couldn't because our sailing was sold out. Even if they cancelled her in one reservation, it wouldn't allow them to add her to the other. I hadn't thought about just moving the couple, but one of the rooms is a handicap accessible room because my mom will have a scooter, so she's not able to switch to the other room. I'm glad to hear that they can just program the medallions to open both doors. They may just get all medallions to open both doors. We will definitely talk to the stewards about the move. I'm not the best at vacationing with multiple families and just worry too much about things not going smoothly. You all help me feel better - thank you!
  21. We currently have 4 rooms booked for 10 people - 2 cabins with 2 people and 2 cabins with 3 people. We are wanting to move the third person in one of the 3 person cabins to one of the 2 person cabins. Can they just sleep in the other room, or would that cause any problems? On Carnival, we have just gotten an extra room key so it hasn't been an issue, but with the medallions, I'm not sure how that would work.
  22. Oh, thank you! That will make the 20 year old especially happy!
