We have sailed on multiple Princess cruises and enjoy the R & R component of cruising. We enjoy being poolside not doing too many onboard activities and sometimes will do an excursion. For background, we usually just eat in buffet, maybe one night or two in the MDR. We are super casual and don’t dress up (we are acceptable casual) for the formal nights, although, we enjoy seeing everyone dressed to the “nines”. We almost feel guilty walking around the ship not as formal and definitely don’t go to the MDR those nights. All that said, what things on the ship are we missing out on? Sometimes the Patters don’t give insight like on these boards. Thanks and hope this topic is not too vague.

I use them to pay for the cruise. You get e-gift cards sent to you that you enter the info on the Princess payment page. You have to enter one at a time to pay, but worth it. As an example, if you buy $5,000 worth (10 x $500 gift cards) on AARP you save $500!

I was signed up for AARP rewards, which is free and I did see an uptick in emails. No texts, but they are trying to get me to sign up for AARP membership. Not overwhelming, usually just hit delete! The rewards program is great though.

Thanks for all of the responses! I did call AARP, and they cannot do orders over the phone. They did say it should be back up this week, but not holding my breath!

Does anyone know where you an purchase discounted Princess Gift Cards? I have used AARP rewards (which is free to join btw) which offers 10% off and is great when you have to purchase in the thousands of dollars. They only allow purchase of five a month, and there cart purchase has been down for awhile with no guarantee when it will be back up. I need to purchase 5 this month and next for a cruise payment due in October. And if you wondering why I didn’t purchase earlier, I had to buy in June, July and August for my November cruise! 😀 Any ideas would be appreciated! Thanks!

Did Princess verify you didn’t have plus? I got a similar email and went into cruise personalizer and my plus items were listed. Also checked my confirmation email when I booked and it showed the plus benefits. I had the same concern you did. Hope it is there and the person you spoke to was wrong! 🙏

Thank you for all of the comments, input and ideas! We will probably stay put where we are now on Baja aft port side. Once we are five days past the final payment will see if the upgrade email comes and decide what if anything we will do! Contemplating that now for our Panama Canal cruise in November, now that final payment was made. As I indicated in original post, location is important to us and prefer aft. Other cruises were predominantly on CB and the Emerald Princess. Thanks again!

Have only sailed on the Grand Class ships, but booked on the Regal in 2023. Any thoughts on what deck for a balcony? We are on Baja now and like aft, but know this is a bigger ship. Would like ideas on location and if the decks make a large difference. We have done Caribe deck on the Grand ships as they have larger rooms. I understand the importance of what is above and below the decks of the rooms. Thanks for any input!

Should have mentioned we sailed at the end of November 2021, so somewhat recent sailing.

We were on the CB in B755 and did not have any issues. The two ships are somewhat identical I believe. My wife thought she smelled food once, but we spent a good deal of time on our balcony. You cannot beat the aft view!

Thanks all! Would be a bit clearer if it said “full transit” before all references to Panama Canal Cruises!

If we are on a 10 day partial Panama Canal cruise (R/T from Fort Lauderdale) in November, and not a full transit do we have to test? The guidelines indicate testing required for Panama Canal transits and also states sailing on full Panama Canal transits.

I only see the one cruise with the countdown for that first one. Do I have to add the second one somehow?

If you have multiple cruises booked (final payments pending) can you complete the travel checklist for both? I am green lane on the first sailing, and the second cruise is 26 days after the first. TIA

We sailed on the CB in November ‘21 and had no reservations on booking a 10 day cruise for this upcoming November on her again! As previously stated, crew was fantastic and food was good! We had a momentary toilet issue that was resolved and never was a problem again. She is showing her age a bit, but there is a comfort level of being on board the CB!
