  1. I will be traveling with my three minor kids in July.  They are requiring a notarized letter from my ex that states I can take them out of the country.  Does anyone have a sample letter they have used before?

I know someone who mixes vodka and soda water and puts sugar free flavor drops into it...think they are called Meos (unsure of spelling?)  They said it's like hard seltzer.  Could be something to pack for a similar drink

That's what I did on my last cruise, but I was hoping for an easier option than walking around with a little bottle.  Don't get me wrong, it tasted great, just annoying.

  3. I don't have any links to specific ones, but amazon has a ton to choose from; the heavier duty ones are the best.  Plus, you can hang random stuff with them like bags and lanyards and swimsuits or whatever around your cabin to free up flat space.

And one thing about cruising with kids...so many of the crew have their own kids and miss them terribly, so seeing a little smiling face makes them happy.  They appreciate the laughs, even the cries, something that reminds them of home.  I would suggest finding a space that you can build a "relationship" with some bartenders that will adore your family.  We learned that the bar where trivia was was the best, and I'm still friends with some of the bartenders to this day.

  4. Princess has a whole timing table of what type of test and how long before.  They also have a couple of suggestions of where to purchase the tests because you can't just use a regular at home antigen test.  This link helped me answer some of my questions, but it still gives me anxiety pre planning for it (and being responsible for my whole family).

  5. Lots of questions, but maybe I can help with my experience.

Napping... There is not a napping area in the kids' center, and I don't know if they allow it or not, mine were always over stimulated so they would never have fallen asleep.  Mine have, however, fallen asleep in many of bars around the ship (mainly like explorer's lounge where there are long stretches of couches that aren't normally occupied).  And no one bats an eye, other than those walking by to say "how sweet".  We've also propped strollers up everywhere so they can nap when they fall asleep.

Contacting... I have not yet cruised with the medallion app, so I don't know how that works.  I know, in the past, they have offered pagers to parents.  I'm sure there is a way of contacting you, I just don't know what it is with the new technology.  I also would frequent the kid center just to "check in" to see how things were going, but that was just me.

Princess Plus... You might have to deliver her drinks if she wants, but that just probably depends on the bartender, etc.  We have always had the drink package and I would take either one of my kid's cards and get them a drink if they weren't around to order it themselves.  Some working the bar areas are strict and won't let you order for someone else, but that case was rare, especially with a kiddo.

Boosters... I always had to ask and they only had a select few, plenty of high chairs, but not many boosters.  If you plan on eating in the dining room often, make sure to make friends with the maitre'd and ask about availability for meal times (and maybe slip him/her some cash) and they will always make it happen.  Also, make sure to tip at the end too to show appreciation.

Curtain... this one is tough.  There isn't an easy way to do so, hanging anything.  One option is to try to bring your own curtain, sheet, whatever and get some of those super strong magnetic hooks and try to hang something that way.  But be sure to bring your own so you don't puncture holes in Princess' sheets.  Or even ask your room steward to see if they have any other ideas.  I found that brightish night lights helped in the evenings so we could turn off the cabin lights and still have some sort of light.

    I hope this helps!

Contacted customer service and received a young lady who was worthless.

Might have been the same one I had.  Which she also told me that there were 5 people in my mom's mini suite....uh...no.  And that I needed to urgently call booking and rectify it.  I called my vacation planner and she sort of laughed and said "there are issues over there", and confirmed my correct booking.  What a mess!

Have you tried Name, Birthdate, Booking Number?

Yes, that is the only way I can get my mom in, but dealing with a back to back and managing my booking at the same time has become a nightmare with having to have all the numbers straight.  But thank you.

  7. Well, I've decided to take my girlfriend on her first cruise (along with my mom, my kids, and my brother and his family).  My first trip being "out" and I want to make sure that everything is accepted.  I know there are certain island that are against the alphabet mafia, and want to know if anyone has any experiences with these ports: St Thomas, St Kitts, Grand Cayman, Roatan, Belize City, and Cozumel.  I want to be respectful of the area and community, and also don't want any trouble.  Thanks!

  8. It'll be tight, but doable.  It also depends on how much time you are going to be spending in your cabin.  Like nap times and such.  I found having a balcony was great because I could sit out there while my littles napped.  But at such a great rate, it's hard to pass up.  Life is too short; I just say DO IT!

  9. I haven't been on a ship since before covid, but I do feel the waste is obnoxious!  I always bring my own coffee cup to take to get my morning coffee, and my reusable straw for drink.  And I always encourage my group to do the same.  I do love that there are mainly cloth napkins, and regular cups in the buffet and such, but there are so many people that just don't care and I do feel it gets out of hand.  Now, after covid, I fear that it'll be worse because of contamination.

I don’t like children (or adults for that matter) who don’t know how to behave. I do however cut the under 12s a bit of slack, (the adults not so much).

Same same!  And a few times I have removed one of my children from a restaurant for not "behaving".  I always found when they were like around 1.5, giving them a chicken bone to gnaw on while eating dinner helped.😂

  11. I've been taking mine since they were babies.  Always accommodating and happy to help with kid's food items (and some dietary restrictions).  Though, the Princess staff has always been great, some other patrons have given me the evil eye for bringing my kids before, even though there was no reason to.  But, that's experience everywhere.

  12. HAIRSPRAY the shoe and your foot before putting them on.  It'll make both tacky enough to stick well, but not sticky.  If you get sweaty feet, put a little bit of deodorant on the shoe before spraying.  NOTE: Do not spray the whole shoe, just the part that gets slippery.  Some sprays can damage the exterior of the shoe if you apply too much.

Same. I've noticed that Princess has started to slightly dial into LGBTQ branding since the restart, which is refreshing for a line that can be a little stodgy. Previously, same sex couples seemed to be a Celebrity-only marketing niche, but it's nice to see that Princess has finally gotten over whatever hesitations or reservations they had.

I'm "freshly" out, and so it's nice to see these little things (AND hard femme so any sort of "determining factor" I can use to show that, it is helpful, especially on a cruise...with plenty of creepers).  I think Princess has also come to the realization that being a more including line means more money.  But that's a whole other thread for another time....

  14. YES! Alaska is great for kids!  I agree with the pp about not having to do excursions.  There are plenty of places for your little one to run around and check out around the area, and neat things to see.  Depending when you go, the weather has always been good for me.  Actually, my last one in 2018, the weather was so warm, they cancelled the dogsled excursion because it was too hot for the dogs.  My favorite thing to do is to go see the Mendenhal glacier.  I have taken kids as young as 2 there, and it was great.  Besides the bus ride, there's fun little paths to walk on and they offer kid stuff in the building.

But then people can't see others status symbol (color of medallion) while we all make our way around the ship. Clearly some people want to show off their status or wouldn't have posts commenting on how to get proper color medallions/complaining they got the wrong color.

There's also new artwork you can order for your medallion, which I think is a sort of dumb idea, yet I fully fed into it and ordered a rainbow medallion...it's cute!  LOL 🤣
