Anyone have thoughts on specific HAL excursions with kids. Half Moon Cay Stingray excursion looks good but not sure if kids are allowed.

Any suggestions for HMC with kids? Sting Ray Excursion?

About how far is Calico Jacks from the Marriott Grand Cayman? Walkable?

Granted, the food and service was not on par with Oceania or Celebrity, but it was quite adequate. It bothers me to spend extra money on specialty dining. I have no negative things to say about the MDR dinner. Windjammer was another story. Very chaotic and the food tongs were sticky and felt dirty. Not too appealing especially on a norovirus cruise.

I too was on the Allure for Thanksgiving. I agree with the mini review as posted.Ship was beautiful, Windjammer food was barely passable. The key to having a good dinner experience in the MDR is too try and request the same wait staff every night if you can while on My Time dining. The one caveat of this cruise was the fear of the norovirus. THe crew did an amazing job of cleaning and re cleaning and forcing Purcell usage. However, I was always concerned about still contracting it. It just added a bit of of fear factor.
Try to steer away from Windjammer when possible. Park Cafe is an excellent alternate for breakfast and lunch. Limited menu but you will not be disappointed.
Overall, it was a good trip. Enjoy!!!!

Hi
Does anyone know if there is a Diamond member lunch area on embarkation day? Is the Diamond lounge open?
TIA

Does HAL offer internet service plans and does the service work in the staterooms?
TIA

Can anyone tell me if there is any special Breakfast venue for Diamond members on the Allure.
TIA

Wondering if the MDR is open for sit down breakfast all mornings for all passengers or is it closed off during the Dreamworks character breakfast $$.

Will be on the Allure in Late November. Appreciate the CC Boards but want to know the best tips from previous cruisers. i.e. Embarkation lunch, must see things etc.
TIA

Agree with Tortola, nice Island but pushy locals. Nassau is also a no go. Best part of it is that ship empties to an extent

Is it truly kid friendly? Hope it is not a true booze cruise.

I am looking for a fun family activity for us and our 2 active boys ages 6 and 7 in St.Thomas. Thought about sailing excursion but I think it may be too long for them. Hoping to hear some good suggestions.......

Question
Can various River Boats cross oceans to reposition or are they ferried somehow?
Thanks

Was looking at the RCCL Web Site. A picture appeared with a man and his daughter in a seaside "toboggan "ride on a track. Looked great and fun. My son wants to go. Not sure where this is. Please help!!! Thanks. :)

I agree. Just returned from HAL Westerdam. We stopped in Aruba. Not much downtown. We hired a cab for $45 for an hour drive around the island. Not much to do but we managed. Wish we had more time to settle in at the island. ie. go to the Marriott for the Beach etc. Have been to a lot worse ports.

As a cruiser of 20+ voyages mainly in the Caribbean, my wife and I were discussing where we would prefer NOT to get off the ship. We pretty much settled on Tortola as somewhat blah with the assertive hawkers bothering us and not much to do. A HAL Captain told us that Grand Turk was not a great place either. Wondering what others are thinking? Nassau? Ocho Rios?
Cozumel Self Driving Tour
in Cozumel

Will be in Cozumel in a few weeks. Been here many times before but am thinking about renting a Jeep for a self guided drive of island. Any suggestions of must see or stops. Traveling with 2 active boys. Is it worth the hassle of the rental or just do an organized excursion?
Thanks
