They were certainly very grumpy on last years mainly British crowd on the Anthem.

To use the word HATE in a situation like this is disgusting,they may dislike the way other clients tip but I have seen very few US bartenders or stateroom attendants on cruise ships so just who taught others that non tippers are to be hated?

We are sailing on the IOS in July this year and this is our first RCL cruise and I have never been so confused I have read good and bad reviews about this ship. We have cruised before and I have never seen so many mixed reviews about a ship.

 

I am going to try and have a good time I know its a family ship and that is great as we are taking our daughter with us, but I cant believe all the mixed reviews, yes I know you get moaners and have had our fair share of them but for a cruise liner this big I thought it would be all rave reviews.

 

From what I can put together the shows are old and dated and dont change very much, emberakation and disembation is a shambles, (maybe not done to the cruise liner) the food isnt that great, the service is a bit hit and miss. The kids club is great and that is what it is mainly about

 

I am listening to both sides of the story but to be honest for a first time on there it isnt great reviews I understand a lot of people love the ship but may be we have been spolit with the other cruise liners we have been on

Cruised on the Indie many many times when she was based in the UK right thro the winter one year and it was great as is the ship.

Not sure how you can imagine the embarkation and disembarkation will be the same in Southampton as it is in Fort Lauderdale.......IT IS NOT.

As a Brit I have to smile ...just a little when ever I read about purses as for us it is a different object perhaps what you would call a wallet so the thought of me getting all that stuff described on here in my purse would be impossible.

Ah I'm so glad I found this thread. I'll now remember to pack tea bags for my cruise next week!

 

I like tea in the afternoon, and my main complaint was that there was no milk out, just cream or a weird dairy substitute, if memory serves.

Always get one of the containers of milk at breakfast and keep in the fridge/cooler in cabin and its fine for a day or two.

They might not even be onboard.

A very sad story and it just reminds us of things that happen all over the world.

And we have changed from being loyal RCI cruisers to Celebrity and have really enjoyed the cruises with them this year , hope for more in 2016.

We have gone elsewhere for cruise lines after many years and many cruises with Royal but only because of their same old same old itineries but we will return if only to sample next years newest ships.

We're staying at the Intercontinental in March. Not cheap but looks good!

We are there at end of this week, not the cheapest but we love it.

I was trying to look for appropriate tour with the Allure of the Seas in europe through their website, but unfortunately, it seems they they do not offer any sail for this ship out of US ..!!

 

I'm planning to sail on it on July or Augest.

Could somebody please tell me..

The Allure has just been in Europe for her refit and has returned to Fort Lauderdale which is her homeport, so no more Europe for her for a long time

As a nurse, I'm there to hold your hand when you are scared, silently pray that the tumor being removed is not cancer, hope that you don't bleed to death at 3:00am after a horrific traffic accident where you were hit head on by a drunk driver, cry with you when you wake up from surgery because you asked for your wife and kids and found out they died.

 

I have never gotten a tip for what i do for work, and I work very hard and sacrificed a lot to get to where I am today. If you think I don't tip for good service then you're wrong but I refuse to part with my hard earned money for someone that preys on someone else through intimidation to be rewarded for pushing a cart of luggage a few feet inside a building to pass them off to someone else so he can hurry outside to get more.

cruised lots and lots of times with Royal and whilst I agree with the OP for us it is the lack of new/different ports that has made us look elsewhere but we will still cruise Royal now and then.

Specially as the Indy is coming back to us.

Did Kotor in Sept and we were docked.

Villafranche they use the local tenders plus some lifeboats and the ride is about 15 mins but can be bumpy.

I have no issue with a regular bathtub...jeez....the forks, glasses, sofas, etc...have ALL been touched by others! Germaphobe much?

 

However, a jetted tub has gunk from past bathers in the pipes. If it was MY gunk...no big deal....but I'm not a fan of basically public jetted tubs!

If you have a jetted tub take some dishwasher tablets with you and run them through the bath with the jets on, cleans them all a treat.
