  1. I figure they would need about 60 hours steaming time from whenever they left San Juan to make it back to Port C. I think if they could make it back on Monday it would late in the PM.

Which really upsets me more. Because that schedule of stopping at San Juan today. St Maarten tommorow and then back to San Juan Saturday has been posted all week. And they just figure out TODAY that they can't make it back in time to sail Monday.

    Amazing!!! Smh

  2. Well our TA just spoke with royal insurance. Note to self. GET PRIVATE INSIRANCE.

Royals insurance agent. "Doesn't know" if the policy will cover us to stay mindaynniggt before the cruise. She suggested to keep receipts and TRY to turn them in. That's fine. But some people work for their money and need to know ahead.

And then if we do go and they canc. Then what????

  3. Just got text and email. 9/18 Majesty sailing is shortened from 4 day to a 3 day so they can continue humanitarian relief.

So just wonder if we will even go??? What difference does a day make.??? Majesty is in San Juan today. Press release from port st Maarten says she will stop there from 8-5 tomorrow and transport people

From there to San Juan. Assuming arriving there Saturday morning. Wouldn't the majesty be able to make it back to Port Canaveral from Saturday night till Monday morning????

Or are they doing more runs??

Our TA is checking into everything for us. We get 25% cruise fare in refundable OBC and 25% FCC

We have insurance thru royal. Checking on that also. Anyone know if it will pay for a hotel on Monday night??? Do we book something?? And then they canc us altogether???

While I commend royal for helping all those in need. It is a pain trying to figure all this out. And don't understand why it took so long to figure it out.

  4. I'm really concerned about the Keys. There's no elevation there, so storm surge is their biggest threat. Most of the newer houses were built to withstand 180 mph winds, but no one wants them to be tested. Every single one of my close friends down there have evacuated.

Ok. This is maybe a dumb question. (But then I'm from Ohio and never experienced a hurricane). So are there lots of people that would actually not evacuate the Keys?? I can't imagine being stranded there in case something happens to US1

  5. EB. I have been off these boards for awhile but logged in to check hurricane cruises

Been following your story from the beginning and so glad you are getting everything refunded.

Royal did really drop the ball (and smash it) here

But my one questions I have not see you answer here. Are you trying to schedule something else the next couple of days and will you get to enjoy a few days away with your lovely bride to celebrate your anniversary???

Wishing you many more happy years regardless:hearteyes:

  6. Anyone ever transfer from Port Canaveral to Sanford airport??

Are there transfer companies that service Sanford airport, or am I better off doing a Uber??

Also, what type of time would you allow??

I can get a extremely cheap flight into my local airport for the way home after my cruise.

The flight is at 12:40, which means I would like to be at the airport by 10:30. would this be a problem if I did a self walk off??

(PS. Yes I've flown allegiant before, so I don't need opinions on how bad of airline they are)

  7. We've sailed 2 Royal ships--the Indy and the Oasis--and we were able to buy "buckets" of beer (not really buckets, but an insulated cooler). My hubby would buy it, so he could bring some beer back to cabin. It was a cheaper alternative to a drink package, as I don't drink enough to warrant the cost of a package, and he only drinks beer.

They did have the coolers of beer 2 weeks ago. I didn't pay attention to pricing though because we had the drink package.

    Thanks

So wonder if we need to bring our old cooler?? That was the promotion at the time. And I know for awhile you had to bring te cooler back to get the discounted price.

  8. Have a question for you. I know you posted at the beginning that you didn't get the alcohol package. But wondered if you saw or heard of anyone buying a "bucket or cooler" of beers??

Hubby is a beer drinker and the alcohol package is to expensive since he doesn't drink a lot. However several years back we bought a beer cooler. Got the cooler to keep and refills came out to Getting one beer free

Debating if we want to pack it. Not sure if they will still honor them.

  9. We are currently on the independence and it was announced last night due to an emergency we would be returning to Miami. I just woke up, at 4:00 a.m. and we are docked in somewhere, I'll assume Miami. Anyone know what's going on our where our stops will be?

Junglecat. Could you check something for me while on board??

We sail next wednesday and are still debating if we want the alcohol package. My hubby is mostly a beer drinker and since they now only have one package we are not sure it will be worth it.

Can you asked if they honor the beer coolers?? Bought one a couple years back on the Liberty. Don't want to take up the room to pack it, if they don't honor it. Or is there a bucket of beer special??

    Thanks in advance.

  10. Yes, exactly what would have happened. Unfortunately for all involved, I'm very very persistent. I might be a very busy working mom but I still have time to email and call people every single day until they fix things :D

So glad you got things resolved So did the credit show on your card already??

Cupcakes, that is a slap in the face. Glad you ended up with $250.

Hope you can relax and enjoy the couple of days ahead before you leave.

And also hope you will come back here after and let us know that you have blasted the TA. She deserves it.

    Have a wonderful cruise.

  11. Been following this thread for quite awhile. Still can't believe you are going thru this.

Just curious if you have posted to Royal Caribbean's page on social media. Would love to see it on their, especially if you TA is on the site also. Would be nice for others to "see" what she is posting

  12. OK, we have the Rodeway for a one night stay before our cruise.

Is this area safe to walk in? In the daylight??

We don't get in till late the night before. But would like to get up and walk and get some drinks and snacks. We are normally walkers, so a 1-2 mile walk is no problem. As long as its safe??

Want to go East, so it looks like it would go under/over 95. Do able??
