  1. On another site someone has reported that alcohol prices onboard QV have increased and corkage up from $20 to $25 due the the drop in the £.

Is this correct. On QM2 last month the corkage was still a very fair $20.

I suspect that post that you saw was from someone who is confusing Spanish V.A.T which is added when in Spanish waters
  2. The 2 Ships are completely different the Q.M2 is a real Liner and is very confusing to those that have Not Sailed on her as she is built completely different to any ship that you will ever go on, Now the Q.V even though Cunard insist that she is a Liner in reality she is a Cruise ship and is much easier to find your way round easer for your Mother I recommend Balcony Stateroom Midships on deck 5 or above .

  3. The reason could be the Email Cunard sent me asking me to update my preference's on the World Club site. All members have to update otherwise your cruise history will be lost and you will lose any World Club benefits and you will start again at Red Band level

    Go to cunard.co.uk/myaccount

and either log in or create an account, go to My Preferences and tick the box which says you want to remain/become a member of the Cunard World Club.

There are a couple more boxes one can tick and an update of your details and that's it.

If you don't confirm then you won't be receiving any of the benefits offered to you as a past passenger.

  4. Have you booked a Adapted Cabin as normal cabins do not allow access as the doors are to narrow for chairs that do not fold down and their are steps into the bathroom. Queens Grill cabins doors are wide enough & you can turn a chair in Q.G rooms which you can not do in a normal cabin. Disabled passengers & accompanying Adults have priority boording

  5. Queen Victoria
On the Q,V last month and my wife smokes and I do not she Is a Wheelchair user. Now there is a notice that Cigarette users are not allowed You have the whole of the starboard side of deck 10 for Cigarette users, But they do allow them to use Churchill's in foul weather as Churchill's although close to the Commodore Club is not n anyway part of it. As for dress code its the same as the Commodore Club Formal on formal Nights and Informal on informal nights, Don't fret of smelling of smoke between 20%/30% of people smoke that's 600/700 on-board.
  6. This is a question just to cigar smokers please.

I am limiting my formal and informal dining clothing to a black suit, One. I am looking forward to some smoking, port sipping, and conversation in that lounge, after dinner. But if I wear my suit in there it will stink for the rest of the trip unless I use the expidited dry cleaning every time I smoke. OR..... Can you show up in smart casual wear anytime. I will have lots of sets of those clothes. What have you seen on previous cruises

Please no non-cigar smokers.... what happens in the cigar room stays in the cigar room!

What ship will you be Traveling on Cunard has only 3 ships but has different rules on all 3 ships on where and what you can smoke

  7. I was surprised that the Coffee card has changed Now its $8.50 per day for all hot drinks as many as you like. You get a sticker on your room card saying hot drinks Just like you get for the soft drinks package.

  8. If a table for 2 is a must ,Why pay a saver fare as your requests will be at the bottom of the list as for confirmation all Cunard are doing is confirming that they have your requests not that your request is granted, Why not try

Britannia Club which sometimes are available on a Saver fare this at least will give you a 18.30 Dinning time and improvers you chancers of getting a table for 2.

  9. Thank you for your candor.

I was concerned about some of those items as well.

We are working on ameliorating our situation as this was not our dream for a cruise booked over 18 months ago. A regular Club would have been perfect as we had booked A-1.The problem is that they have oversold this cruise.

There was only Guarantee available at that time but we were certain that the situation would correct itself and we would get the A-1 Club eventually.

2.5 wardrobe not a problem for a mini cruise, but for 93 days with formal clothing demands is not going to be easy.

    Thanks again.

It is a A1 Club cabin you also have a Self Serve launderette not very far away
  10. Resurrecting this thread as I have just discovered that we have been assigned QE 8092 for our upcoming 95 day World Voyage. I am surprised as I would have thought that in the 95 days, this cabin would have been needed by someone with need.

Have we struck gold, or have we ended up in a cabin with little storage and furniture, but a large bathroom and balcony? Is the "wet room" aspect going to result in our having wet feet whenever we use the bathroom? Is there any storage in the bathroom? How about for 95 days worth of clothing?

Thanks to anyone who can shed some light on these questions.

Just had a mini cruise in this cabin Faults are 2.5 wardrobe's no sofa TV at a angle that 2 people can not see it from the bed the cabin is noisy as the entrance door needs to be refitted as there are gaps all the way round that lets in light and noise get the Steward to explain how to plug the kettle in and the ramp bar works, Good points its a Club cabin very nice ,Very handy 1 flight of stairs to the lido 2 flights to deck 10 and the outside, Very close to Commodore club and Pavilion pool Large balcony 2 reclining chairs but only 1 sunbed, Draws under the bed and under the T.V unit and on the side of the Bed and Dressing Table the cabin is about the same size as a Q3 Cabin
  11. Just of this short trip cruise just to put the record straight we set sail at 20.00 for a mystery cruise down to the Channel Islands , Then the next day ( Saturday)was a Sea day and Zeebruger was intended for the Sunday but this was canaled as the Port Harbour Master told the Captain that the conditions where to bad to Dock and Undock , In my Opinion the Captain had no say in the Matter as the Port would Not let us Dock, Now the weather conditions where Known 5 Days before we Sailed so why did Cunard not go to Zeebruger on the Saturday when the weather was fine & there was space to dock instead of just sailing up and down the Channel, Cunard made the wrong by Decision not changing the day Result a lot of very irate passenger's.

  12. Evening Casual

Stylish resort or leisurewear is ideal for Evening Casual nights, for example casual separates or dresses for ladies and open-neck polo shirts and casual long trousers (not shorts or 3/4 length trousers) for men. A jacket and smart trousers can be worn but are not compulsory. Smart dark denim is also fine, but not trainers, football shirts or tracksuits.

    Black Tie

Black Tie nights foster a rather special atmosphere on-board and we know that our guests adore dressing up and it has long been a part of the P&O Cruises experience, adding a touch of glamour and a real sense of occasion to evenings at sea. Seeing an entire ship full of people transformed into their finery is quite something to behold. Ladies wear glamorous evening wear including cocktail dresses, ball gowns or even smart trouser suits. For men, dinner jackets or tuxedos are the norm, but a dark lounge or business suit and tie can be worn as an alternative. You can also wear formal national dress and military uniform.

    Daywear

During the day you can wear exactly the same as you would on any other holiday. Casual shirts, shorts, trousers and beachwear are ideal. For going ashore and walking on deck, flat comfortable shoes are a must. You will also need a lightweight jacket or coat for cool evenings and occasional showers. Don't forget sun protection cream, a sun hat and sunglasses as the sun is much stronger at sea.

    Children

The Dress Code for children in the evening is Evening Casual, regardless of the adult Dress Code. We do ask that children don’t wear denim on Black Tie nights. When dining in the informal or buffet restaurants children can be casually dressed. If children are going to be with you in the evening in the formal restaurants and theatre then they can still dress more casually adopting our Evening Casual Dress Code.

    Fancy dress and novelty clothing

We don’t want to dampen anyone’s fun but coming into effect on 1 January 2018, fancy dress and/or novelty clothing will not be permitted on board. We reserve the right to deny embarkation to guests who are inappropriately dressed. This is a change from the policy wording printed in the back our January 2018 – October 2019 brochure. The only exception to this is on official theme nights, when guests are invited to dress to reflect the theme. This policy, however, does not apply to children 16 and under.

    Personalised and slogan clothing

In addition to the fancy dress policy, clothing personalised with images/slogans, and/or clothing that features offensive language, images or slogans, will not be allowed on board at any time.

    General

The Dress Code is applied in most restaurants and bars for guests over 18 years of age, from 6pm. Please wear the appropriate attire to the ship’s bars and restaurants; blue or worn denim, sandals (for men), sleeveless tops (for men), flip flops and shorts are not permitted in ship's public areas during the evening.

Swimsuits are not permitted in the lounges, interior bars, restaurants or reception area at any time. A shirt and suitable footwear is required while indoors and when using the buffet restaurants.

You may also find the following question helpful: What will the dress code be whilst I am on board?

    Please note:

From 2016 we simplified our Dress Codes on-board all our ships to Evening Casual and Black Tie. We know that our guests adore dressing up and it has long been a part of the P&O Cruises experience, so Black Tie evenings are still firmly part of the on-board programme, however the Smart Jacket Required Dress Code will no longer apply.

  15. Hi , we're new to cruising, had a P&O suite first time suite nice but no other benefits, so attracted by Queens Grill.

I noticed that Princess and Queens grills dinner menus on cunard web site were identical. I asked cunard customer service if this was a mistake or was queens grill the best culinary experience. The answer was all cunard food is great whatever dinning room, but queen's grills have butlers. Have we made a mistake in booking queens grill?

NO you have not made a mistake yet!! But if you don't book QG you will, The Grills have the best accommodation and service far superior than anything that P&O has to offer.
  16. From Midships Forward you should have no problem, Why do you see so many Smokers well Cunard have customer's from all over the world where 30/60 % of People smoke
