As you can see from our signature, we have been on a "few" cruises 😂 We always book an AQUA class cabin, well worth the extra charge for one reason.... The BLU DINING ,,,this is the small dining venue that is ONLY available to AQUA class guests I think that they only allow the "best" of the staff to serve in the BLU dining room On this past cruise every meal in BLU was OUTSTANDING, Gourmet quality, go with what your server recommends Also, if you see something on the menu from the MDR, they will get that for you...Shrimp cocktail is always available along with excellent Onion soup... Absolutely fantastic cruise.....

Good to see all the "opinions" obviously everyone has a different expectation and experience.. We are going to be on our first REGENT cruse in December...having been on 26 crises in the past on Celebrity, MSC, Princess etc... Only 10 months to go, with a Celebrity sailing in between....😃

Right "US" old timers remember what it was like....but the Young uns' don't know...so, "THEY (the cruise industry) aren't concerned We were on a recent princess cruise that had the absolute worst food ever, we cancelled the next cruise and are going back to Celebrity Hopefully this will be better....if not, then "hopefully" our December on Regent will be

Sorry that the post repeated itself... As far as the food ...for example ROAST BEEF sliced from a whole beef that was so tough that it could not be chewed and had to be spit out...not once, but TWICE and then again as the TURF in a SURF and TURF totally unacceptable that was just inferior meat My other meal of VEAL SCALLOPINI on mashed potatoes..no sauce or mushrooms !! Along with my other observations....UNACCEPTABLE.... On of the reasons for cruising is to ENJOY the FOOD.... And if you don't care for my comments...DON"T READ THEM...these are MY OBSERVATIONS YMMV

In general, should there be a saving in TOTAL COST of a cruise by booking through an Travel Agent rather than using the cruise prices posted on the Cruise Lines internet or brochure prices? What have you found to be the percentage of difference

We are just off a REGAL PRINCESS 8 day cruise... Love the SHIP Love the STAFF Love the MEDALLION Embark and Debark were EXCELLENT However, we found the food in the MDR was generally terrible. Food in the Buffet was just OK I think the food has been much better on our last cruises...Pre Covid.. We have cancelled our next Princess cruise and are switching back to CELEBRITY,

December 10 cruise on REGAL, internet was very slow on SEA DAYS and in the evenings, in port when the ship is "empty" it was OK

I paid $120 total for our recent 8 day cruise on Royal. It's very convenient, just a short walk from the ship, all inside....just remember WHERE you left the car!

Definitely some odd choices, nice piece of Veal..supposed to be Scallopini with mushrooms, and serve it on masked potatoes ..one tiny mushroom no sauce? Beautiful sliced roast beef that could pass as shoe leather, inedible, I could go on but,,, We are just off Regal Princess 8 day and I can only say that the food in the MDR was generally terrible. Nothing like it was "post Covid" Better at the buffet, at least you could "try" things and fins something that was passable,, **********Finished with Princess

If we are sitting at a table and the waiter brings our drinks and sandwiches or pastries. I do give a small tip.... If we are sitting at a bar, not just getting a drink I also tip the bartender. We also give a tip to the cabin steward. When you think about how hard they work, hours and days, I think "we" can afford the few dollars

OK Last night's dinner was a bit better, Escargot (very good) and Surf (very good) and Turf (ech).. So OK "wise guy" 😁 (someone had to do it)

More about the December 10 cruise with the PCA.. Dinners continue to be TERRIBLE Beef Wellington, hmmm, I believe that this dish is "supposed"to be a piece of beef wrapped in a puff pastry.... not here... more of the tough inedible beef in slices with vegis, Crabcake is more like a potato and filler cake with some crab... Veal Scallopini Marsala, ummm nice piece of veal, but where is the sauce and mushrooms.....NO, this was slapped on some mashed potatoes ..no taste... As I mentioned before the soups were good, well.I spoke too soon...Minestrone soup was more like a thin vegetable soup ....not terrible but not Minestrone...Black bean soup was just OK, We found the best most consistent food offering on the ship to be the the SALAMI SANDWICHES at the International Cafe...( A sad state of affairs) If you want a descent meal stick with the Chicken dishes .. Hard to screw up Chicken) That's it....you get the message....(We still have 3 more days,,, it "could" get better BUT😏)

NOTES AS WE GO We are currently on REGAL Princess with the PCA (Porsche club of America, about 700 in the group) This is our first cruise since THE SHUT DOWN, but about number 5 on Princess (total of 25 cruises in all) Saturday December 10 2022 Embarkation was VERY GOOD QUICK, at 10:30 Cabin (Mini Suite) is fine (generally not a problem anyway) The ship seems in good shape. Food We are VERY DISAPPOINTED about the quality of the food in the Buffet and the MDR, In particular the ROAST BEEF in the buffet, looked, tasted good till you tried to CHEW it, you can't), it is tough as leather and inedible so far 2 times !! The Salmon from the buffet is also tough and very dry (in the MDR also) I ordered Beef Strogonoff last night...very small portion of INEDIBLE BEEF and a few noodles....very disappointing....Breakfast at the Buffet is good, Smoked Salmon, Grits ( a favorite) I don't like eggs or pancakes that are pre-made, so I avoid those, bacon is good....Coffee is excellent as are ALL THE BAKED GOODS, , Soups were good.... Staff The staff are all VERY GOOD We have never had ANY problems ... Monday December 12, I will "attempt" to upgrade this as we go............

We booked a cruise a few weeks ago on Enchanted Princess for January 2023 for our favorites, the ABC islands...too many times at "the other islands", we stay on the ship.... Then yesterday a Brochure from REGENT arrived....needless to say we decided that our second cruise for 2023 would be on Grandeur. Time for a smaller ship?

We did one Transatlantic, a first "crossing", not a great experience. There was a problem with one of the propulsion units ( from what we were told) and they had to cancel one port that we really wanted.... New ships may have problems, so we are waiting a bit for the "First on Grandeur" Looking forward to a smaller ship in December..............

We received a brochure for the SEVEN SEAS GRANDEUR a few days ago,,,how did they know we were looking at a REGENT CRUISE? We are booked on Princess for January but looking forward to booking a smaller ship for later in the year... So, I will now start following this message board tnx Daniel and Priscilla Palm Beach
