  1. Thanks so much for the advice! They are offering me two AC cabins next door so either way we would all get access to Blu.

It’s not entirely out of the question to split up. It’s myself, my husband, and my daughter (she’s a bit too young to sleep alone/8) so my husband and I would just be sleeping in separate rooms each night.

Considering it’s not a long cruise I might consider switching to CC and book specialty restaurants. We tend to enjoy the certain class only and specialty restaurants over the MDR which is why we went for AC to begin with. We are also traveling with other family members who are in AC so we just wouldn’t be able to eat with them the nights they choose to eat in Blu.

    Thanks again!

  2. When I originally booked, I was able to book 3 people in Aqua Class. Now Celebrity is stating there are no rooms for 3 in AC. They offered us 2 rooms but now I see that none are connecting. Are there no connecting rooms in AC?

We offered to go to CC with access to Blu but they won’t budge on that. Just making sure I’m not missing an obvious solution without one of us having to sleep in a separate room!

  3. We aren't doing too well on the room service front.

On Mother's Day we ordered pancakes, eggs over easy w/ hashbrowns, and an omelette with hashbrowns.

We received: no pancakes and 5 ordered of eggs. 1 over easy, the rest omlettes all with hashbrowns and bacon.

Today we ordered croissant, omelette with hashbrowns, and pancakes.

We received: 3 orders of omlettes with hashbrowns and no pancakes.

However, they do amazing when they just deliver coffee every morning!

  4. Tonight we ate in the MTD again. We have My Time but did not make reservations for tonight. There was no line for no reservations and a line FOR reservations. We walked right in while everyone else was waiting.

Service was A LOT better. Food was still just okay but overall it was a much better experience. Creme Brûlée was unanimously one of the best we have ever had.

Did North Star at 7:30 as we were pulling out of St. Maartin. It was definitely cool at night but I would suggest going when in port during the day. You couldn't see much at night and during sea days, you are basically just looking at the ocean which is exactly what you are seeing from the ship.

Leaving the ship we were never offered towels which we almost always are so we never thought to grab them earlier. We were already leaving the ship when we realized it so we ended up having a beach day without any towels

They did a Queen Tribute show in the music hall tonight with singers from the show and maybe other performers? I don't know who they were but it was awful. Freddie Mercury had a very unique voice and this just felt like karaoke. I'm hoping the show is much better. I don't know, I kinda feel like if you have a hard time sounding even slightly like Queen, maybe they aren't the best band to be paying homage to. Disappointed since I like Queen.

  5. Hi. Thanks so much for this. If possible, can you answer these questions? Have a great trip!!

    - which days are the formal nights?

    - what is the order of the menus?

    - what kind of laundry specials are there and which days?

    - what kind of spa specials are there and what days?

Tomorrow on Day 6 they are having Spa Happy Hour. 60 mins of back, neck, shoulder massage, express hydrating booster facial, scalp massage, and foot and ankle massage. $119.

  6. Hi, if you get a chance can you post what movies are playing? Looking for Moana. Could you post cruise compass? Thanks

Tomorrow is Day 6 and we are back to Moana again at 7 and Sully at 10. I'm assuming they are just going back in order again. If that changes, I'll let you know.

  7. Last fall when we were on the Serenade, they had a form you could fill out and hang on the door for the bar staff (your cabin steward let them know it was there) and they would bring you up to 24 cans of soda (Diet Coke) do you know if they do this on the Anthem?

    Thanks

Just noticed it mentions being able to do this on the back of the cruise compass but I don't see the forms in my room. Perhaps you just need to ask your cabin steward.

  8. I heard the Solarium for dinner, has no charge. Is that the case? Does the menu change each night?

We will be on the Anthem for the first time in Oct.

    Thanks for any help. Trish

Solarium bistro is no charge. I don't know if the menu changes but I can find out.

  9. Was the water in Bermuda warm? How hard is it to get to that cliff to jump from the beach at horseshoe bay?

Water was chilly but everyone was still swimming. We put our feet in and it was cold but after the sun started beating down, and we got used to it, it was fine.

Never did the cliff jump so I don't know about that.

  10. We currently have the U2 tribute band. (Wish it was any of the others but they aren't bad)

Silent Party was so much fun! We have done them before other places but this was actually a highlight.

Docking in St. Maartin today at noon.

I'm saving all the compass' to upload when I get back.

  11. Thanks for the great information. Did you use the Royal IQ app? If so, were you able to book the NorthStar and Rip Tide? Great news about the water. I'm going to try it. Sailing on June the 8th

We were able to prebook everything before boarding however, after downloading the royal IQ app we realized there were so many time slots available for EVERYTHING. Therefore we were able to rearrange some reservations to different times/days that worked better for us.

I can't say I use the app for the compass so much but LOVE it for the capability of making reservations, keeping track of all of our scheduled activities, and being able to check out your onboard statement.

Since this is the first cruise where we made entertainment, dining, and activity reservations BEFORE boarding, the app is super helpful in reminding us what we have planned. Never would have remembered all that before we got on.

There were people next to us today who were talking about North Star and how they weren't able to get reservations before boarding or even when they called when they got onboard. I told them to download the app because there were tons of slots available. Not sure what the reasoning is with that but in any case, the app is free, super easy, and allows you to make reservations that some seem unable to make.

  12. Tomorrow's movies:

    7pm: La La Land

    10pm: Fences

Chops was amazing. One of the best meals I've ever had probably.

Today was a sea day and have to admit, I don't think the pool set up for such a large ship is ideal. Yes, there are tons of chairs but NOT nearly enough for around the pool. Did see a few attendants move stuff off chairs but also saw a group of 8 save chairs on both sides of the pool so they could have 'sun' spots and 'shade' spots.

This becomes extremely frustrating when all you want is one chair so you can watch your kid swim in the pool. We got to the pool around 9:45 and there wasn't a seat to be had. Don't get me wrong, I don't care who sits near the pool but when there are 16 chairs reserved for people who are barely there and not a single one of them are in the pool, it's aggravating.

We did get chairs upstairs but again, it's difficult when you have a 6 yr old that wants to swim with the kids they met at kids camp.

Also, because parents were upset they couldn't bring their NOT potty trained child in the pool, they took them in anyway and their kid pooped. So we all got removed from the pool around 2:30-3, on a sea day and the pool remained closed for the rest of the day. Inexcusable.

  13. Tomorrow's movies (day 4):

    7pm: Storks

    10pm: Lion

Coastal Kitchen was great. Wait staff was awesome, food was delicious, and filled up wine glasses continuously throughout the meal.

Definitely saw more casual attire tonight. Have seen shorts but nothing inappropriate. Just what you would wear out to dinner at home ex. nice shorts, nice shirt.

My daughter is obsessed with the robotic bar so we seem to stop by there often. Highly suggest choosing the option of making your own drink that way you can change the ratios of things. Otherwise they are way too sweet.

Pizza open till 3am has been awesome. I probably shouldn't love it being so accessible but I do.

  14. Last fall when we were on the Serenade, they had a form you could fill out and hang on the door for the bar staff (your cabin steward let them know it was there) and they would bring you up to 24 cans of soda (Diet Coke) do you know if they do this on the Anthem?

    Thanks

Haven't seen this but I can ask!

  15. A few other random notes:

-Last night we tried to go to adult comedy but the late night party kids camp was non-existent. So therefore we never made it.

-Not a lot of pool side bar service but a lot of stations/bars to get it yourself.

-Havent figured out yet why they don't have 2 places for ice cream since there is always a line.

-Solarium pool closed early last night which seems weird that is closes so early. We were looking forward to finally trying it out.

-Elevator waits aren't too bad anymore.

Tonight is Coastal Kitchen and The Gift.

    Movies tonight:

    7pm- A Monster Calls

    10pm- Arrival

  16. Having done Anthem and Oasis, I would say Oasis handles the crowds a bit better. It's not a big issue but we were definitely more surprised by where everyone was on Oasis.

Haven't done Oasis but definitely can say they could do a better job with dispersing the crowds. With so much room, they could spread a few things out better.

  17. Hi. I'm considering this cruise for next April. How has the movement (rocking, etc..) been on Anthem?

It's not too bad. Thursday and yesterday you could definitely feel rocking but I don't see it affecting many people. Smooth sailing last night and and now that we left Bermuda.

  18. Thank you. What did they serve for dinner tonight? We are doing the BOGO dinner package for the first two nights and were wondering if we are going to miss anything good in the dining room for formal night. Also, jus curious of how casual people were dressed.

Last night we had beef tenderloin tips, salmon, vegetable pot pie, pork shank, lobster bisque, arancini, and caeser salad. For dessert we had grand Mariner soufflé, cheesecake with berry compote, and chocolate cake.

That's all I really remember because that's what we ordered. I don't think you'll miss anything too great.

I personally feel like the quality of the MTD in service and quality of food has gone done since they now have so many specialty dining options. I remember being blown away on my first RC cruise by the food. Now it's just kind of eh.

Service was a bit slow. We never get offered another glass of wine and we would have definitely had another. I ordered a coffee and never received it.

I haven't really seen anyone too casual for dinner. I'll keep an eye out.

  19. Spectra's Caberet was awesome. So unique from anything I've ever seen on a cruise ship.

A lot of people were dressed up for formal night. Probably the most I've ever seen.

We rarely get receipts to sign for our drinks which definitely cuts down on the amount of extra tipping we do.

Formal nights are 2 and 8.

I'm not sure the order of menus since we don't really dine in the MTD.

I will let you know about the rest. So far haven't seen or heard anything. If you have a coupon book there are coupons for like $5 off or something.

  21. Came off Anthem yesterday and tomorrow's weather in Bermuda should be very similar to our day on Monday, many people were in the water at Horseshoe Bay.

Moana played last night outside on the pool deck at 7. It was freezing so there was no one out there.

    At 10 it was Sully.

Tonight at 7 they played Sing and at 10 it was The Founder.

    I'll keep updating on this.

I have all the compasses that I'll post when I get back.

  23. Also, they punched a hole in my daughter's sea pass card for her lanyard at guest services with no issue at all.

We received wow bands in our stateroom and so far we have been loving them. We went in knowing that it will be a pain at bars so we don't even attempt to do that. We use them from everything else and just give our sea pass card when ordering drinks.

Towels/Robotic bar and everything else has been easy. There's a pad you just tap with your band.
