  1. I recently bought one on the Eclipse. Saved on taxes. Richard on the Eclipse was amazing setting it all up for me. Some of the apps from my IPhone appeared right away. Waited until I got home for the others to load. Very satisfied with my purchase. Used my OBC to pay for it!

Richard is amazing!!! Love his classes in the theatre and always learn something new even though I have been using my iPad/iPhone for years.

My friend bought an iPad Mini2 with some OBC and just about waited too long lol. By the time she made up her mind there was only one left. The iLounge guy set it all up for her, loaded a bunch of Apps and gave her some free internet. She was very happy:)

  2. Dear follow CC members this discussion concerns published and paid for features that were removed after the trip’s deposit and for some after the final payment was made. While we enjoy reading the various comments everyone add please stay on topic and if you are not one of the passengers that are affect your comments should be shared on another topic board. Thank you.

AquaGate Update. While we cannot share many of our tactics and procedures we can share that a legal firm that is a national (non-USA options are being explored) well respected consumer rights firm has been secured, the firm will also receive the class action options, the various state’s protection regulations / laws and the best options for punitive collections, etc. Furthermore a renowned legal school’s paralegal students have commenced a assessment of the various potential legal options concerning supplementary actions that concern seniors’ rights, internet fraud, charge card refund options, travel agents responsibilities and SEC issues. Two state’s AG offices have assigned agents to monitor our complaints and receive consumer statements.

No funding other than from the core members is or will be sought.

What actions can you do, if you have selected an AQ class stateroom on any Celebrity Cruises, Inc. and have or will travel since December 1, 2015, please save your entire trip literature information from your agent, printed ad or any internet offer. Record how and when you we told be your travel agent or Celebrity that any advertised or implied benefits for this type of stateroom has been or will be changed. Call your state AG’s consumers protection (various names) office and file a written complaint. Optional complaints to your travel agent and travel publications would be helpful.

The core group has since December 2015 or will be by early April 2016 travel in Celebrity’s AQ staterooms so as to be able to file the suit having first hand experienced the changes.

We know this short message has many details are lacking but we need to hold our cards very close to our vests, the legal firm has only allowed certain information to be revealed for now and not allowed legal verbalization or quote case law. More soon.

    Too Funny!!!! Well done:D

  3. Actually, that's exactly how they do it today (and for at least a year). You fill out a card each day stating what time you would like canapes (or if you want them at all). (if you're not there, they don't leave them). If you don't want them, you just don't fill out the card. As far as getting what you want or don't want...I've had the savories...they are on my "don't want" list...if we get anything, we ask for cheese instead.

We never fill out the card and just tell the steward to please leave them in the room if we are not there. No problem.

  4. We have sailed in Aqua class many times. The first times we sailed in aqua class we were told there could only be 2 adults in the room as they were a spa offering for adults only. Blu restaurant therefore was adults only. Slowly but surely things have changed there as well. Now they allow children, which doesn't seem right for someone wanting a true spa experience. You go to the spa, get a massage and come back to a room with a loud child next door. It just doesn't mix well if you are truly paying for a spa experience. Also missing are the flowers in the room, slippers for both adults in the room, the face spray, and now the water. It seems Celebrity really isn't offering much in the way of a spa experience anymore.

AQ are set up only for two but a child can share a cabin with another adult. Children are also allowed in Blu, usually because they are with families staying in suites. Never has AQ or Blu been "adults only"

  5. It appears that the OP is considering a RT cruise, starting and ending in Vancouver.

Despite the fact that we live in Alaska we've done three Alaskan cruises on Celebrity, including one on the Infinity.

Hubbard is spectacular, and is one of the very few tidewater Alaskan glaciers which is advancing. If the weather is good and the heli-pad dry the captain may be able to open the heli-pad to passengers when at Hubbard. But the ship will rotate a full 360 degrees. During the slow approach up Disenchantment Bay to the face of Hubbard it almost seems as if you go back in time.

So agree!! We did Hubbard on the Mercury and are doing it again this May on the Infinity. Hubbard Glacier is awesome!!

  6. Phil,

There is smoking at the Oceanview Bar on the Summit. The problem with that is smokers pull extra tables and chairs and had the steps blocked port side going up to deck 11. I saw cigar smokers frequently walk over to the starboard side with their lit cigars.

To the OP...sorry you had a poor experience. I can only say we had really good experiences on the Summit, which is an M class ship. I can honestly say the staff on the Summit were much more friendly and accommodating than our experience on the Silhouette.

That's weird because there was no smoking on the Millie Oct-Nov (Japan/China) at the Oceanview Bar which was fabulous. Not an ashtray in sight. On other cruises on M Class when we saw the "creeping ashtrays" the bar stewards were happy to relocate them to the proper area. Hopefully the Infinity in May will also be smoke free at the Oceanview Bar:)

  7. Presently on the 9 day New Year's Eve cruise and found the Eclipse disappointing. Compared to Holland America and NCL suites, we liked them more than Eclipse.

As you are comparing suites on HAL and NCL, were you staying in a suite on X?

If you were on a suite on X you should have been dining in Lumunae:confused:

  8. No cruises to Cuba from the U.S. If the Fathom does in the future it will be some kind of humanitarian program similar to what it is planned doing in the D.R.

There are several cruises from various locations to and around Cuba, none can "legally" be taken by U.S. citizens.

You are correct:) I just mentioned these ones (plus there is the one I am most familiar with which helps US citizens with the "paperwork" http://yourcubacruise.com/your-cuba/us-travelers ) because there seems to be a lot of cruiselines stopping in Havana if the port is in such poor shape:confused:

  9. FDR is setting up Oceania to head to Cuba ASAP

  10. Thin crispy bread sticks still in the bread baskets? DH enjoyed those a lot with his predinner drink in the past.

Since we left X for 3 years, to try other lines, we're coming back next month for Eclipse. Love the 14 day Carib. when we aren't into a land break.

Aren't those bread sticks great!! Loved them on the Millie in October.

  11. We cruise for the itinerary first, Celebrity second. We will fly anywhere rather than do same old, same old ports. That's why we haven't been to the same old islands in the Caribbean for years:D Maybe when we have cleared our bucket list we will think about cruising for the sake of cruising and just relaxing on a lovely ship! Not there yet though.

  12. Paulchili I am a long time Celebrity(many) and Azamara (three times) cruiser. As I always keep my options open I follow the O board and dare to post occasionally. But you would be better served by hanging back like the other cheerleaders and let people vent rather then dissing their opinions. I would put more faith in the old guard if they kept quiet or came forward and agreed that O screwed up a lot of peoples expensive holidays rather than placing their past experience with O over the current pax which demeans their current problems. Yes it might be a one off or maybe a two or three off cruise which was way less than people expected, but telling them so sorry we have had much better experiences really does not make them feel better.

  13. Does it matter that most cruise line workers are contracted? I think only the officers are actually "employed"

Also this is in the "Getting Prepared" section on X's website

"Insure all luggage and valuables. Celebrity Cruises cannot be responsible for their loss or damage. Baggage protection, as well as a variety of other coverages designed to protect you during your cruise vacation, are offered through CruiseCare Vacation Protection."

  14. I have thought about zip ties, but then you have to have a knife at the other end to cut them off. The TSA locks are not that expensive. The only things electronic that I put in my checked luggage is my shaver and my electric spoon.

If flying from Canada they are not allowed to break the locks if you don't have one of the locks mentioned above that can be opened by security. They are not "required" If your checked bag needs to be searched and they cannot open it you will be delayed as your luggage will not clear security.
