  1. Darwin ports is showing 2 interesting ship visitis in 2023/24

1st one is the unnamed Lady ship of Virgin Cruise lines. Her arrival date is Sunday 26 November 2023. There is also anther entry for Friday 05 April 2024.

The other entry of interest is Celebrity Edge on 1st December 2023. That has now disappeared.

Also Melbourne ports have a number of ship doing turnarounds as TBA's

Will be very interesting to see how AU/NZ ship movements unfold in coming years.

  2. Pacific Encounter is currently in Limassol, while Pacific Adventure/Golden Princess is currently in the Suez Canal enroute to Trieste Italy. Pacific Explorer is in Manila.

Carnival Splendor at sea with Dubai as its destination along with Spirit.

It seems that Pacific Explorer will be the start up ship if the suspension is lifted in December, as it is the only one in the region.

Some of us are hoping it follows Mariners path when it came to LA 12 years ago. Around the horn, three legs and 31 days.  We have 2 cabins booked for Jan 2022

She is in the Pacific already currently in the Straits of Malacca. Her next port of call is Yeosu Korea.

  4. Australia's deployment for Ovation of the Seas: From Cruise Weekly 04 August 2021

RCI pivots to domestic-only season Royal Caribbean International (RCI) has updated its Australian summer season to domestic-only. Ovation of the Seas will sail from Sydney starting 13 Dec through 31 Mar 2022, offering a mix of two- to 10-night domestic sailings visiting some of the country’s most famous cities and regions. The ship will offer guests a raft of short breaks and voyages, with 24 sailings from Sydney visiting ports such as Eden, Hobart, Adelaide, Brisbane, Port Douglas, Kangaroo Island, Airlie Beach, and Cairns. Available to book from tomorrow, guests can also enjoy scenic excursions of the Great Barrier Reef, Willis Island and New South Wales’ South Coast. The new season means Ovation’s current sailings from Sydney from 27 Oct to 10 Apr 2022 have been cancelled, as have Serenade of the Seas’ sailings from Sydney from 24 Oct to 27 Feb 2022. All impacted guests and travel partners will be contacted and advised of their options. Guests will automatically be issued a future cruise credit to the value of 125% of their fare to use on future sailings. However, guests are also able to opt for a full refund, or to lift & shift to an applicable summer 2022-2023 sailing, if preferred. “We continue to encourage and assist federal and state governments to establish a clear pathway for the return of cruising, and hope that by Dec we will have guests holidaying with us once again,” said RCI Vice President & Managing Director Australia & New Zealand Gavin Smith (pictured). “While Sydney manages its ongoing lockdown, several factors make us hopeful that domestic cruising will return this summer, from rapid advances in COVID-19 research, technology and an emphasis on swift vaccine distribution.”

  5. I can not see them sendng both ships down. As mentioned before Ovation on the West Coast, but with Navigator in the Indian / Pacific area now, they will need to release some new itinaries soon for advance booking.  The only ship I can forsee coming here is Serenade, for the short season, as she has a drydock in Singapore in March.

As I said, it raises many questions.  Crew transfer, sounds the most plausible transferring crew from Asia to other Carnival Corp brands in Europe.  As they have just ‘Australianised’ Star Princess it’s not a product or brand that is well known to non Australian / New Zealand markets.

Interestingly, Diamond and Sapphire Princess are heading to Cyprus. They are due in Cyprus on 08August.

They haven't cancelled the January 2022 Sapphire Princess cruises to Australia, New Zealand, and Tasmania. I have to wonder if they are hoping to keep those in place but limit them to "local" cruisers only. I was hoping for a move over cruise offer for 2023 but it looks like if/when they cancel me I'll be limited to a refund or 110% FCC.  Rather than the FCC I think I'd just ask for my FCD to be restored. Maybe they would give me an extension on it. Probably not.

Interestingly, currently Diamond and Sapphire are heading to Cyprus, according to Marine Traffic.

  8. From Jervis Bay, the shore excursions could be to the historical town of Berry or Kangaroo Valley. I agree regarding Huskisson. There is a nice golf course at Vencentia. Also the whale watching cruise from Huskisson. These are just some suggestions of what may be offered from Jervis Bay.
