  1. Hello all, I'll be sailing the NCL Epic for the first time and I'm new to NCL. Can anyone tell me if you purchased the Ultimate Dining Package does thus include the Cirque dinner show? If so, how do I go about booking the show?

    Thanks in advance!

  2. Has anyone had experiance with USAA trip insurance? There seems to be 3 plans. They confused me on the phone when I tried to get an explanation between them all. I'm thinking about the middle plan because it is only about $30 more than the lowest plan and covers cancelation for work reasons. They say you have to book 48 hrs before your trip. That confuses me because I would think you would need to pay before final payment date. I just feel there is more to it than what I understand. I think the price is reasonable compared to what RCCL was but I don't want to pay $133 only to find it has exceptions I didn't understand.

It's not USAA insurance, they provide a discount to other companies. I use it every time. Thankfully we haven't had to use the insurance for any emergencies or anything so I can't comment on that. However, their website is very easy to use and I find their rates with the discount is good.

  3. My vote is Sorento's. There are other things there than just pizza.

I find that if you make it to WJ before 12:00 it is easy to get a seat. Also waiting until after 1:00 when the rooms are open also reduces the crowds.

Thanks for the suggestions! You can design your own pizza in Sorrentos like on the Oasis, correct?

We plan on getting on pretty early!

  4. The main dining room is usually not open on board day.

Windjammer, Cafe Promenade, and Sorrento's will be open, and are complimentary.

Not sure if Giovanni's is open. If so, that would cost $15 pp.

This is what I figured, but wanted to double check! Wish they had Park Cafe, loved that place on the Oasis.

  5. My husband and I are looking into a 7 Day Med. Cruise. We would love to be able to leave Philly the night before and arrive in Rome the morning of the cruise. Our travel agent states that this is a great way to do it, because then we would not need to get a hotel room. But, I am really nervous about this! If I book the flights on my own they are around 300 dollars less per person than if I book them through Royal Caribbean. What is everyone's input on this? Should we fly in the day of the cruise, book our own flights and save some money….or, are we setting ourselves up for stress? Any input would be great!

This may be excessive, but we flew in 2 days prior, that way we had enough time to catch up if something were to happen with the flights. You just never know and that is a long flight. Totally different than flying to Florida or something.

  6. Our very experienced cruising buddy from NY City told us the rates are outstanding when you book on board, and so far he's is correct in our experience - we've done it twice and never seen prices drop lower than the ones we were offered on board.

As well you receive On Board Credits when you book on board. The amount depends on the number of days long the cruise is.

I figured the rates would be the same as showing whats online...but you are saying they have their own rates on board?

  7. I would use the search function, but I don't see it there anymore

We are fairly new to RCCL and was wondering if there is any perks while booking a cruise while on board. We are looking to book Europe for 2015 and I'm thinking the itinerary's will be out by the time we sail in April. Just not sure if there or perks or not.

  8. Does anyone know if the Seafood Shack or Rita's Cantina are ever going to be replaced with another type of eatery on the Oasis / Allure. We have been on both ships several times and they never seem to be that busy throughout the cruise. They should consider making them into a Wings Cafe with lots of domestic & imported beers. Those chicken wing places draw crowds.

The Boardwalk seems so dead in the evenings. RCL should spend a day on Atlantic City's boardwalk - steak fries in a cup, Salt Water Taffy stores, etc.

    Lets hear you thoughts!!

You had me at steak fries in a cup - I too think they should do something different. More like fair food, cotton candy, fries, gyros, that sort of stuff that you shouldn't eat but wanna eat!
