  1. We are sailing on the Miracle next May and need some recommendations for hotels in Seattle. We want to be close to the downtown area so we can walk to all the sites. Can anyone tell me some good ones to check out???

  2. I am use to booking with Carnival directly. Although I was presented a good deal through a TA. My question is if I book through a TA I realize when I log into Carnival I can see my booking but I can't view all the details as I can when booking through Carnival, but can I still view shore excursions when logging under my booking and purchase them myself through Carnival or do I have to do that through the TA as well. I like to still be able to pre purchase excursions, buy water and soda card for our room etc...and not go through TA for this. Anyone who can help me answer these questions it would be appreciated. Thx

  3. The platinum/diamond party is must more manageable now with fewer guests once they eliminated the gold members, but now a lot of those gold member are getting close to platinum. So I think Carnival is being proactive as to making some change now before that happens. They do need to add more levels, especially between gold and platinum. Maybe even add more days on to become platinum and not grandfather in anyone. With so many more people cruising these days, in a few years the platinum/diamond members will be out of control. Personally I'm glad Carnival is making some changes. I just hope they are the right ones.

I enjoy the perks but some I could do without. I enjoy boarding 1st, having my room ready, the platinum/diamond party, platinum gift and drink coupon. Oh and the priority line at guest services..... The rest I don't care about, especially the laundry once I tried it for the 1st time on our last cruise. Our clothes came bag damp and all wrinkled in a bag. They looked better when they left in the bag...haha

Let's just hope Carnival makes some good decisions for it's loyal cruisers. No matter what there will still be people that complain.....

  4. You walk just past the port shops to a covered waiting platform like a train station, the taxis are lined up in an adjacent parking lot, and the taxi dispatcher signals each cab to pull up when he has a customer ready to go. There are lots of benches if you need to sit.

So I sounds kinda like the taxi set up in Cozumel???

  5. Can anyone who has had an Aft balcony on the Legend tell me if the doors open up between balconies like on the balconies on the sides of the ship? We have a room booked next to our friends and are hoping to open up our balconies so we have one big one together to share. Thanks for any info....

  6. We are flying into orlando 2 days before our cruise and staying at a hotel about 5 miles from the port. We plan to go to the Kennedy space center for the day, the day before our cruise. My question is has anyone ever rented a car there? And if so was there a close place to return it by the port? Or is it just cheaper to grab a taxi. Also are there any shuttle/taxi services you would reccomend? Thanks for any info. We have never cruised from this port before and trying g to plan the best options.

  7. We will be in Amber Cove in June and wanted to do the terracross dune buggy adventure. Just noticed it was already sold out. Does anyone know of an independent company that offers something similar to this there? Also have you ever noticed more openings for this excursion once you board the ship?? Thanks for any info, this will be our 1st time in Amber Cove and although it looks like they have a great pool area right at the port, we would like to see a little of the country too.

  8. Well said "Retired To Cruise".....People love to speculate and then information gets out of control. I'm sure it's just some kind of announcement about the progress of the Vista. I don't think it will be worth sitting on the edge of your seats for 3 days.....)

  9. Sorry to hear of the young man's injury....a fractured ankle stinks, whether on vacation or in your own backyard.

Carnival's onboard reaction is probably pretty standard for how most corporations would handle a potential liability situation. Document it, report it and don't say anything else about it, for fear that anything the business does or says could be used against them later as an admission of fault or responsibility. I think that's just the corporate world these days.

Sounds like you need to seek professional advice, but I think you already know that. Calling Carnival to complain that you didn't like how they handled things, will likely get you nowhere.

    hope that ankle heals quickly.

  10. Love the balcony....won't book a cruise any other way. We always order room service breakfast, then eat and drink coffee on the balcony together while our son sleeps. Then he gets up and eats on the balcony while we get ready for the day. So relaxing, and really establishes that you are miles from land, in the middle of the ocean. The sound of the waves, the sights of the approaching port...can't wait till our next cruise!!
