  1. Anyone else getting the endless twirl of "checking for availability" with no success when trying to enter a move up bid? I called the Captain's Club and was given a web address but got the same endless twirl
  2. Thanks for your excellent and balanced review. I wish I had seen this thread earlier in your trip so I could have recommended you ask your Luminae waiter for the Chocolate Bomb for dessert. Maybe they served it during the rotation? They pour liqueur on a chocolate sphere and then light it aflame. The shell melts and you’re left with a brownie like cake with ice cream. Dramatic and delicious!
  3. The key is to sanitize your hands just before you eat. Wash on the way into the dining rooms for others but, for yourself, keep wipes or a small bottle with you and, after getting your food and finding a table , sanitize your hands. And, keep in mind, covid is an airborne virus but noro isn't!
  4. I would truly appreciate anyone aboard at this time to see if non-alcoholic beers are available anywhere on board HAL ships, especially the Nieuw Amsterdam. Thank you so much. And know that I’m jealous because it’s cold and spitting snow here! Sail on!
  5. I’ve made specialty dining reservations (I think) but I don’t know where on the website to find those reservations
  6. I love a SPICY cocktail--one that gives you a brief sore throat after you swallow! On the Solstice years ago, the female bartender made me a cocktail called, "the grass is greener." It was perfect--knocked your socks off with the heat!
  7. I know your friends get to decide since it's their anniversary but I agree with previous posters---not a great choice as far as food goes. It can also be windy. I'd choose just about anywhere else.
  8. I can’t find the Reflection for the week of Feb 12th, 2023. Private charter? I think “revolutionizing” takes longer than a week and she’s already had a dry dock this October. Maybe I’m not looking in the right place?
  9. Yes--do what you think is best...but if you sanitize your hands before eating, you should be good (and of course, you sanitized before entering the buffet also)
  10. Yup—-Celebrity’s website no longer works on safari on iPads. Guess I’ll have to stick with Chrome
  11. I'm at home but it is my mission in life to abolish the unnecessary "at." "where are you?" It's so simple and perfect Who needs that extra A and T, right? (good grief, I need a cruise to relax and get over myself! Bahahaha)🤣
  12. Don't wait for an invitation to bid. Just start checking closer to your cruise time....I've never had to wait until the 30 day mark in past cruises. Try starting to check after 60 days or so
  13. I've never waited for an email to do a move up offer. Just go to your booking with your reservation number and choose move up on the "manage your booking" page. Usually around 30 days before your cruise. I will probably forever after do a move up bid on every Celebrity cruise because last spring, I put in the lowest possible bid to move up from a Sky Suite to a Celebrity Suite on the Apex....and we were informed 5 days before cruising that we'd been upgraded to the Iconic Suite!
  14. Wonder how many cruises will not have a Skagway stop. Reports are that next week, no Skagway
  15. Folks on the Discovery P facebook group are reporting canceled stops in Skagway for future cruises…due to rock slide?
  16. Nope—try looking at he 7/3/22 Discovery sailing ”currently unavailable”
  17. I'm looking at Discovery Princess......unavailable???
  18. Seems like this “update” or whatever is causing the pricing to not be available on the website has been going on for awhile now. Wouldn’t they usually do this overnight instead of during prime time booking? (watch—it will be back up as soon as I post this!)
  19. So so sorry to hear you got a bum butler. Our man on the Apex was fabulous. I called and asked for some crackers because our friends had picked up some cheese from the buffet and we were going to have wine and cheese before dinner. He arrives with crackers——and two charcuterie boards, chocolate covered strawberries, and a bottle of Dom Perignon! WHAT? Now, that’s a darned great butler!
  20. I would warn you the couch we had in our Celebrity Suite was exceedingly FIRM (aka: hard as a rock). I’m the weirdo that travels with an egg crate mattress pad just in case the bed is hard so it came in handy that night my DH was snoring and I moved out to the couch! You can scrunch up a mattress pad into a fairly small ball, especially twin size!
