We just received and offer for an upsell on the Royal from an inside to a deluxe balcony for $119 per person or a standard balcony for $139 per person. We don't mind insides, as we rather cruise more often. But wondering if anyone thought that was a good deal or not. Or should we hold out for a better offer or skip it altogether. We are on the Royal's first sailing to Mexico at the end of March if that makes any difference to anyone's opinion.
Thank You,
Kayla

The key west cooler and tropical blend are my personal favorites.

It can be transferred for a $20 fee. I actually have the form that was faxed to me from Carnival.
So for $20 the credit can be transferred to someone else? That would be awesome!
-
No, it cannot be used by anyone else.

OK...thanks. I was afraid of that.

If you cancel a cruise well after final payment, but are given a cruise credit...can it be sold or given to someone else?
Thanks for the help.

We were on this cruise as well as the 4 day right before. The crowds on the 5 day to Cabo were unbelievable after the quiet nearly empty ship of the 4 day. We hadn't realized how few people were on the 4 day till the 5 day at sail away. I'm sure it was just an impression or maybe the kids, but there was quite a difference between the 2. We did have a great time on both. A "few" kids weren't going to ruin our fun.

Early! It's counted as day one of the cruise. We feel we miss out on a day if we are not on board as early as possible.

3! Yippee!!!! Can not wait!

Looking forward to this semi live! We are on her next! Take care of her for us! And would love to know about the shows in the theater and when formal night is.
Have a great trip!

If the boarding issue caused huge numbers of passengers to be delayed, and as a result the muster and departure were also delayed, then extending dining hours would make sense, in spite of extra work. If the boarding issue was not bad enough to delay the muster or departure, then perhaps the issue is not really extra work, it's that people are in the dining room too close to the time that muster drill is scheduled for.
Hmmm...I see what you are saying. Can't remember if muster and sail away were delayed in either instance for us.

Oh to be retired! Our most consecutive days at sea have been 5 on the Hawaii round trip from LA. We once did a b2b on 2 separate ships, and 2 separate cruise lines. Got off one ship, a short 4 day, walked to our car, switched out luggage, and walked to the other ship, for a 7 day cruise. This Thanksgiving week we are doing our first b2b on the same ship. A 4 day, followed by a 5 day.
This teaching thing gets in the way of my cruising!

We love having our embarkation lunch in the mdr as opposed to the buffet. The problem for us is when there is a delay in boarding and we miss the dining room lunch hours. I always feel that on those occasions it would be nice if they extended the dining room lunch hours. But I suppose that would create more work for the already stretched crew.

We have been on cruises with service dogs that you could easily tell were important to the owner. Except on our last cruise. There was a family with a little dog. The dog was always with someone different. And petted and played with by everyone in the family. It also barked for no apparent reason. If anyone else looked at the dog with a raised eyebrow, the family got very defensive and were quick to call it a service animal. In my humble opinion this was most definitely a fake service animal. Sad really that some take advantage of this wonderful life saving service.

On our few HAL cruises we noticed that they do not allow anyone to serve themselves the first few days. After we got over being annoyed the first day we thought it was a fabulous idea. If someone had brought it on with them they weren't spreading it by touching all the serving utensils. I for one wish Princess would adopt this custom.

I circle the buffet, looking at what is available before taking anything. Then I go directly for the items I want, of course, being respectful of anyone who has been waiting in line for an item.
This is me as well. Got to know what I want before standing in a long line or even "cutting" in.

One of my favorites is the Key West Cooler. It’s not a daiquiri type drink, but is a fruity liquid drink.

This is also one of my favorites, along with a tropical blend. I am curious as to what's in a Miami Vice.

Glad to hear it was a good cruise. We are on her in 38 days for a b2b. Looking forward to your review.

They will also serve coffe at afternoon tea if you would prefer (my wife doesn't like tea, so opts for that instead)
I've always wanted to go to the tea, but I don't like tea. Glad to know they will serve coffee. I do love me some coffee.
Thanks for that info!

We always book an inside. We always have anytime dining. We always get a table for 2, "no sharing" as the hostesses say.
This is my dh & I exactly! We would rather cruise more often. And we don't need to meet new people. IF we do its just a bonus. Not something we set out to do.

I have called them. They do not shuttle to the port and only allow for a 7 night cruise & park. We need 9 nights. I was hoping for a review. But it won't help us anyway.
Thank you for responding.

Has anyone stayed at the Best Western Worldport in Wilmington prior to a cruise out of San Pedro? Wanting some first hand info. Will they shuttle to cruise port?
Thanks for any help.

We love the Double Tree! I think you will be happy you booked. Enjoy your stay and your cruise.

I was one of those nope not me. Then the dh bought some that felt OK around my neck. I said I would try it on a short 3 day we did. It was so easy to not worry about where to put the card if I didn't have pockets. I do not want to carry around a purse. Now I'm hooked and want to have my card right there around my neck.

Small world. Ming and Old River.
Oh WOW! This is a small world! I'm in the northeast.

Thanks for the opinions and suggestions! We took the standard. Reason being that the deluxe is in the front of the ship making the balcony unusable while at sea due to winds. If we're going to be in a balcony we want to go out on it at all times of day and night.
Thsnks again, Kayla
