The two on deck 4 - usually starts around 6:30.

    Thanks for the response.

We have been sailing Royal for almost 20 years ( D+ ) and choose MTD when we can, going way back

We are going on our FOURTH Anthem cruise and was emailed that the earliest MTD is now 6:45.

We have ALWAYS showed up at 5:30 and were always seated.

As usual I will just see the seating director once we board and have it taken care of.

    Thanks again for the reply.

  2. Going way back to the days when the UPGRADE FAIRY would magically upgrade first time cruisers from an interior cabin to a suite, while past passengers enjoyed what staterooms they initially booked, Is it random or some actuarial complex equation?

Ladys and gentlemen, place your bets. Round and round she goes, where she stops, nobody knows.

Always wanted to try the straight razor, how long did it take you to become proficient?

On and off, using a regular double edge razor it wasn't that long.  Just remembering back isn't that easy. LOL.

Learning to sharpen and hone the blade is important as well as learning to make the funny faces needed while stretching you skin tight.

A sharp razor is so sharp it does not cut the hair the hair POPS when touched by the blade.

There is now a lot about it on the internet these days and some good tips.

Patience, patience and a styptic pencil is all you need.

  4. Until 3 years ago I have used the same style straight razor since 1971 (CONVENTIONAL STONE-HONE-STROP) almost exclusively.

Today's barber shops are in some states restricted from using the convectional stone and strop type because of sanitary reasons and use a (feather) or similar disposable wide disposable which by the way are SUPER-EXTREMELY SHARP, and are really dangerous unless you are an experienced cut throat user, LOL..

BTW I have never calculated how much I saved by using the same blade for all those years?

  5. There are usually several "Head" waiters or assistant maitre d's in each dining room and they appear to supervise an entire section.

We always make it a point to speak to them and they always pop by during our meals and even when we dine during the MDR breakfasts and lunches they will see to our needs.

They do get an envelope on the last night as do the waiter and the assistant.
