  1. Right, that's what they WANT - the couple split to get a better cabin fare for both cabins, but they want to purchase Cheers together; the other couple isn't interested in it. That's the only way to do it, wait until you are onboard, switch the occupants of the cabin, and then purchase Cheers, paying the higher price for purchasing onboard.

  2. I believe if you go to Guest Services and explain that you want to actually switch cabins onboard so you can purchase Cheers, I believe they can do it for you. You would just have to purchase it then, so pay the slightly higher cost. On one cruise, my brother ended up solo on a Cheers Included package, and when we go onboard, I switched myself into his cabin so I could enjoy it also.

looking at Sunshine out of Charleston.  Cruising with 2 adults and 2 kids, so we are looking at Suites.  Carnival.com is giving me option of Ocean Suite and Grand Suite for 4 people.  Looking at cruise deck plans .com it is showing Grand Suites with 4 people with a double sofa bed.  Looking at deck plans for Ocean Suite is only showing a single sofa bed.  so do they bring in a roll away bed for the 4th person?  And if they do have roll away beds could I request a roll away even for the Grand Suite so each kid can have their own bed and not have to share?

Here you go, just find the cabin numbers available and see what the configuration is: https://help.goccl.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/759

Thank you for your response.  It really is confusing.  I was planning to make an appointment at Walgreens next Thursday for our cruise that leaves on Sunday the 15th.  But the latest update had me concerned since we just got our second booster this week (so outside of 14 day window) and are well over 50.  lol.  I'm a little undecided now if I'll just wait until Friday to be absolutely sure.

The window for getting the booster is 7 days before departure, however, if you wait that long, then it would only be 4 days between that and your covid test.

  5. All the OP can do is deal with deciding between the offers they have; doesn't matter what offers anyone else gets. In my mind, it depends if they would enjoy Cheers at a reduced rate or not. It is one way to try the Cheers package without having to pay full freight for it. Then they can decide if it is worth it in the future.

Just my 2 cents, though, and that won't even buy you a piece of gum anymore.

  6. If you would enjoy the Cheers package, take that one. With the increased price now, it's well over 800 per couple (I'm sure someone will chime in with the exact new amount including gratuity, but it's too late at night for me to do math.)

If you took the 200 OBC and applied it to Cheers, it still would be well over 600 more to pay for it. The increased cabin cost is only 500 and some to cruise with Cheers included.

  7. We experienced this on our last Radiance cruise. We were waiting in the lobby with the other Diamonds waiting to be the first to disembark. The 7:15 time came and went, with no movement yet, as we hadn't been cleared yet. Then 4-5 Customs Officers showed up at the gangway, full tactical vests, etc. and spoke to the officer at the door. I noticed they had a female officer with them, wearing gloves. Eventually they all went off down the hall, and I told my hubby that we weren't going to be able to get off until whoever they went to get was escorted off first. After about another 15 minutes or so, the officers all came back with a female passenger (without any luggage) with them (not in handcuffs). Sometime afterwards, we were finally able to disembark. So, she must have set off some flag in the system, and no one was allowed off until she was located and escorted off.

Do you think the approval vs denial has anything to do with how much you paid for your shares? Like maybe those of us who got them deeply discounted in March/April 2020 they are denying vs those who are upside down they approve?

No, we got our 200 shares at the extremely low price of $8 and change per share, and have never been denied. Granted we don't have any 'basically free' casino offers, but they are Casino rates and we have only had approvals so far. Crossing fingers.

  9. You could order proctored Rapid tests online. You call into a center when you want to test, and they use a camera link to watch you open the test package, swab your nose, and then put you on hold for 15 minutes and come back to read the test. Then they email you the results. There are several links in Carnival's Covid19 FAQ page, including this one:  https://store.optum.com/shop/products/abbott-binaxNOW-COVID-19-ag-emed-at-home-test-kit-2-pack/

If we are a party of 6, can we buy 3 two-packs? Or do we each need to place an order for our own pack?

I know Navica requires you to open the package with them watching…and then our own codes.   So now that I already ordered multi-packs, I’m stressing that we each need our own pack.

I believe it's no problem to open the outer carton they were shipped in, the cardboard box holding all 6 individual tests. It's the individual test kit that must be opened while on-camera with the proctor.

We have 3 cabins traveling together under different resies. We have “linked” via invite as per the new protocol.

I’d like to make specialty restaurant resies for all 3 cabins (6) but can’t see how to do that.

should we each make individual and then when we board ask for a table for 6?

    TIA1

The only way I've found to do that is to add all their other booking numbers to your Cruise Manager. Then you can act for them, for making reservations, BUT you will have to hand the payment for the entire group. You can perhaps split it on different cards (I'm not 100% sure) but I've done it for family cruises, for excursions & such.

There have always been long lines for pizza late at night on Carnival. The only way for them to fix it is to give people more options late at night.

I agree. When we were on Panorama, multiple times I would have loved to stop by Guy's Pig & Anchor restaurant for Trash Can Nachos or some other BBQ stuff after the late night comedy. It's a shame it closes at 10pm
