When we were on our Ruby Cruise first part of November, Gary and I would often sit on this deck and listen to the sea and enjoy the atmosphere. Very calming and enjoyable.

Norris, so glad to once again enjoy another GSJ. My husband and I were on the Ruby Nov 6 - 20 and really enjoyed our cruise. Only two things marred our wonderful cruise. One passenger had to be taken off the ship to the hospital at a port and another unfortunately died on the ship. Am waiting with 'baited' breath for your continuing saga.
Happy New year

We just came back from being on the Ruby (Nov 6 - Nov 20) We had a great time. If you happen to visit the Wheelhouse bar in the evening, look for a server name Delinda (I think) from Singapore. You can't miss her as she is so friendly and fun. Tell her the Currier's say hi. Also, we were always able to see the NFL games on our Cabin TV. Enjoying your report. Happy sailing.

My Brother, who was in the navy, went through this ceremony when he crossed the equator on his ship. He said was all done in good fun. I still have some of his pictures. This was in the 70's.

Hopefully if "Life" doesn't get in the way, we will be on this cruise.

Following along. We are on the Ruby November, 2023 out of Ft Lauderdale. Enjoy your trip.

Thank you to everyone who provided info

Can someone let me know which deck the balconies on the Ruby Princess are covered? I know there is a link showing them, but I can't remember what it is.
Thanks

Enjoying your thread and all the pictures. My DH and I don't sail until March, 2023 on the Emerald Princess, but I can live through your adventures and feel the warmth of Florida as I look out on the Michigan snow 😄. Will be following along. Have a great cruise.

Have a great trip. We will be on the Emerald next March for a 14 day Caribbean trip. Our second time on the Emerald. We love her. Long time to wait, but so worth it. Again,😄 happy cruising.

Enjoy your cruise. Will be following along. My DH and I won't be cruising until March, 2023 on the Emerald, but it's nice to have something to look forward to. How is the Westin? We are going to be staying there before our 2023 cruise. Congratulations on your wedding.

Greg, found your review just this morning and have enjoyed it very much. Congrats on yours and Linda's retirement. I retired about 8 years ago but my hubby is still trying. He is an architect and all his old clients keep calling him about jobs. So sorry about your little Maggie. We know your pain. We had to put our last horse down in March due to a incurable medical condition. Still miss him. When you have been with horses almost 35 years it's hard to find you don't have them anymore. Loved your review and are looking forward to our Princess cruise in March 2023. Safe travels home

Hi Ellie,
I'm alittle late to the party, so to speak, but really enjoyed reading about your Fiji trip. Following along with your trip to Hawaii. I can fully relate to the temperature in LA when you said you were surprised how cold it was. My DH and I usually do Caribbean cruises and during sail away you can find me on the top deck with a "boat drink" in hand enjoying the warm weather send off. When we sailed out of LA in October, 2011 for our Panama Canal trip, I was on the top deck in a jacket with a hot cup of coffee. We always laugh at that picture.
We were hoping to cruise again in November, 2021 for our 40th, but we may just wait till April, 2022. Here in Michigan, we just went back to Phase 2 with the closing of some things again. However, we can all stay safe on your wonderful virtual cruise.

Norris,
Loving all the pictures of the classic cars, especially the pink ones!!! Always wanted a pink 1959 Caddy with white interior. My hubby is also loving the old cars since this was his era, 1950's, 1960's of his youth.
The Cuban buildings are actually stunning. Not something you would expect in a so called "depressed" country.
Following along happily.

Linda,
My DH and I have never been on a X cruise as we are Princess cruisers, but I thoroughly enjoyed your trip report. Your kids are a riot and remind me of my three step sons when they were younger. Alas, they are "old" now and have kids of their own. We hope to do a holiday cruise in 2020 as my birthday is right before Christmas and DH is on New Year's day. Welcome back.

Norris,
I am so happy to be reading another one of your fabulous reviews as I sit here watching the snow pile up in Michigan. Alas, we had to cancel a Princess cruise we were going to take in February (full transit of the Panama Canal starting in San Francisco) due to the declining health of my Mom. So I will live vicariously through your review.
Stay warm in Chicago.

Thanks for the info about the Walgreens and the wine bar. Will definitely check them out. Only a year to go starting tomorrow. Wish we were leaving on a cruise this year, but not in the cards. Thanks again for all the info.

We are staying at the Westin St Francis on Union Square for our February, 2019 Princess Cruise. Is there a shop nearby to buy wine before our cruise?

Norris,
Really enjoying your pictures of the "summer cottages". They are alittle bigger than the ones on Mackinaw Island. We were on the Royal (sister ship of the Regal) last March for a 10 day Caribbean trip so you interior photos will bring back great memories. Alas, we do not have a cruise booked until Feb, 2019 when we will again do a full transit of the Panama Canal. But this time from San Francisco.

Norris,
When we were on the Ruby in November, the band Pinacle was also there. Fantastic band. There was also a duo (two guys from St Lucia) who often played in the Wheelhouse bar in the evenings. They could do Motown really well. Enjoying your GSJ.
