  1. I've griped before that I thought "Always Included" was misleading because, in fact, those perks were not "always included". There have been times where I thought their site was misleading, for example awhile back where there was no specific mention that a deposit was non-refundable, only a very small "nrd" in the fine print. But that said, I didn't find this sale to be confusing. The options seemed rather clear to me.
  2. The code is ALLABOARD100. Only good for verandas and up in USD, not combinable with cruise only rates. Other fine print and restrictions apply. No promises, but...worth a shot.
  3. I called MSC USA again and they weren't familiar. They told me to contact MSC UK, but they said they didn't have that. They said maybe MSC Ireland would, but it was probably country-specific, so I didn't bother beyond that point.
  4. I called MSC about that $25 or €25 insurance and they said that they had not heard of it before. Is it possible that it’s a European option only for European travelers? This is in relation to a European cruise I have that is upcoming. I am in the USA but will be departing out of northern Europe. I would have no problem paying €25, but they are quoting me $280.
  5. The only reason I'm taking FCC is due to the fact that my deposit was $2. But otherwise, I think one is almost always better off taking a cash refund rather than FCC.
  6. I think that MSC's insurer is Generali, which I believe is, not surprisingly, an Italian company. MSC quoted me $280 to insure an upcoming trip. I think I can purchase similar coverage from the same insurer elsewhere for quite a bit less.
  7. I paid $29.99 for a lifetime membership last month. I think a paid membership is required to see the full-sized cabin photos.
  8. I'd hit them hard for a *full* refund. If they won't/can't do it, talk to a supervisor.
  9. They took me from a non-connecting room to a connecting room, so I called the redeployment desk to see if they could do a swap. They said that the revenue department isn't done with the bookings, and so they couldn't make any changes until after August 18th. Sounds like not everyone is getting the same answer though. I also booked a similar cruise on Celebrity as a fallback. The ship too is older (Infinity), but probably nicer than Enchantment, plus the room is likely double the size (Prime Ocean View) and I suspect that the food and service would be superior. I almost do refundable bookings which gives me a lot of flexibility up until final payment.
  10. I live in San Diego and had booked Nov. 13th as well. I accepted the FCC offer, and my deposit was $1 per person, so I suppose I'll have a FCC of $2, lol. At least $100 OBC goes along with that, if I book something in the future.
  11. Not sure about the sailing just yet. Several options I'm considering.
  12. My cruise is post July 1, but was booked well before that. I asked customer service and they said insurance is not required. But of course with MSC, you get a correct answer maybe 50% of the time.
  13. I have a northern European sailing coming up soon. Now that MSC has dropped their insurance requirement, I'm trying to figure out if we actually need insurance or not. I went to one of the sites that may insure my trip and while most reviews on most policies are great, one can check a box to see reviews only from those who had to file a claim, and the picture changes a lot. While some had a good experience, many or most did not and claims were often denied. Sounds good in practice, but I'm starting to think it might be better to skip the insurance. Apparently, if we test positive for covid before the cruise, MSC will give us a full refund (not a FCC), so it sounds like we're covered there. I may or may not have to change flights if something came up which might cost me money and might not (booked using frequent flyer miles). We would have to get a hotel, which I presume would be out of pocket unless Amex Platinum pays for it. Your thoughts?
  14. There are some 3rd deck port side cabins and 3rd deck starboard cabins, both of which were added at some date or another. I believe the starboard cabins have the much larger windows. Would the same go for the port cabins as well?
  15. I almost always take the views of others into account, where applicable. But of course, in the end, each of us makes our own decisions.
  16. I did a lifetime membership, which was very inexpensive. I wanted to support their efforts, in some small way.
  17. Currently have a RCCL Greek Isles cruise booked for 2023. They just swapped the ships and I'm not thrilled with the older Enchantment of the Seas, so considering moving over to Celebrity even though the price is higher. Most of the sailings I'm considering involve either Infinity or Constellation. While we enjoyed our NYE cruise on Summit, that ship was revolutionized and to my knowledge, Infinity and Constellation have not been. Are Infinity or Constellation tired-looking, or not so much? Is one of those two ships any better/nicer than the other? If so why? Looking mostly at oceanview cabins. As I understand it, there are some cabins on the 3rd deck (3112-3144) that have huge windows and were once part of the conference room. Conversely, there are some very long and narrow cabins such as 9000, 9001, 8002, 8003 that look interesting. Finally, there are some large cabins at the bow of the ship that also look interesting such as 7000-7003, and 6000-6005 that are wider and perhaps bigger (not sure) than the cabins above. Any thoughts about any of this?
  18. And a reminder for those considering cancelling without penalty. There is a deadline to do this, which I think is August 16 or 18, or at least that's what the agent told me. In my case, it's a fully refundable deposit, so I can take my time. But for those without fully refundable deposits, there may be some time pressure since there's apparently a deadline.

  20. I noticed that the numbering system and number of cabins on some decks is not the same. They have at least 2 deck plans floating about and not sure if either is accurate. I just thought that 2 cabin obstruction situation was unusual. Hadn't seen that before.
  21. Does anyone know what is up with these two obstructed cabins on each side of the ship on Euribia? I do understand that it’s a new ship and I also understand that this is the deck with lifeboats just underneath it. But in my experience, it would be unusual to have two obstructed cabins right in the middle of a block of unobstructed cabins. It also does not seem to coincide with the obstructed cabins on some of the sister ships.
  22. It looks like my pricing is still about $600 too high. Do I need to call these guys or will they fix it on their own?
  23. Not sure yet. I have a refundable deposit, so I'll figure it out in due course, while looking out for other options. Probably 25% go, 75% cancel. I twisted their arm pretty hard and they acted like they did me a massive favor by reinstating the OBC that I already had (nothing more though).
  24. Per Royal today, my $175 OBC was wiped out. They said that WOW credits and such did not carry over to the redeployment. So worse cabin, smaller cabin, worse ship, and less OBC.
  25. So I just spoke with Royal Caribbean and they canceled my $175 onboard credit. They said they could not honor it because that was part of the WOW sale but it does not carry over to the new deployment. They also said I would get a $50 credit for the change but then they told me I wouldn’t get that either because they were able to preserve the same category, even though the cabin and ship are inferior. I am unimpressed by their customer service.
