  1. Humm. NCL does offer a Tropicana excursion. HOWEVER, it's a 3 hour tour that starts at 8 pm so would end at the ship at 11 pm. From all I've read, the show starts at 10 pm and lasts 2 hours, which would be midnight — the same time our ship sails!

Has anyone cruised with their ship scheduled to leave Havana at midnight?

  2. i have a photo of 4 different CUCs and 4 different CUPs. It looks like the easiest difference is the CUCs have a monument or statue on them and the CUPs have a man's head. Is that correct?

  3. You may not have a pre existing condition when you make a deposit but what happens if a medical condition is diagnosed and/or treated just before you're ready to buy the policy? You could be treated and be OK to cruise but the condition or complicantions could reappear during your cruise and not be covered.

I think most pre existing condition definitions look back 60 or more days before you BUY the insurance, not make your deposit for the cruise.

  4. Hopefully NCL will post Cuba excursions soon. That will give us an idea of what we can and can't do that night.

We're thinking of doing a show but only if NCL offers one. This is one of those times when I'd need the security of knowing the ship would wait for me.

  5. I've worked with several trip insurance settlements over the years for myself, family and friends. They were all prompt and responsive fairly settling claims in return for my prompt filing of claims and receipts. I don't have a favorite company. I just buy the policy that offers the best value for the coverage I want.

I use insuremytrip.com to identify all the policies that include preexisting condition coverage (like the OPs 40 policies). I start with the cheapeat policies, checking medical and evacuation coverage amounts. When I find the cheapest 2 or 3 policies with good high med/evac payout, I compare their other coverages like Primary coverage, transport to hospital of MY choice, no deductibles, etc.

From that I decide on the policy that provides ME with the best value of coverage vs cost. That's the policy I actually read to verify the policy says what the insuremytrip.com comparison did. Any questions I call the insurance company, requiring a source for the answer actually in the policy.

I then buy that policy from insuremytrip.com. I again read that policy when I get confirmation.

I don't bother with the most expensive policies if I can find what I need from one of the cheapest policies.

  6. Thanks for the replies. I've booked them for our cruise.

We plan to meet family members at POM tnen board together. Is there a special shuttle drop off place they all use? If so, is it clearly marked so our famiy can find it? I've never paid attention since I've never tried to meet someone.
