We had a Deck 9 forward Aurea balcony on Seaside on our second sailing on the ship having had an Aft wrap Suite previously, the balcony is longer than those higher up and have sun loungers and chairs while those higher up only had chairs The balcony on Seaside is above the Spa and was a quiet area of the ship, the Spa is still included with Aurea.

Thanks. I was shocked. Regardless of other discounts the message being sent is disrespectful
its not about the money more the sense that one’s business is not valued
As MSC proved to all of those who held Black card status in the Loyalty Club and were Royally shafted when they brought in the Voyagers club. Business not valued.

I must be lucky having three signed by three different Captains... 😁

Hopefully it won't be a disaster like it was the last time MSC tried it in Fantastica ... 🤔

I brought up the subject, on our October sailing, at the Diamond Event, of a higher tier having not materialised, despite promises over the years. Later that day I received a gift of a model of the ship (Musica) signed by the captain. Was told I was the first one to ever receive a signed one.
But still no response to your question... 😂

No. We actually were given a few extra points on a couple of occasions that we couldn’t account for. Otherwise, his are about right.Mind you these days it is hard to understand whether anyone at MSC actually knows what is going on at any given time.

Hi Dave. True, but that doesn’t explain the discrepancy between mine and DH’s.Bea ... Very true, unless some of his are missing?

Once you are both diamond, do points really matter anymore anyway?
Not currently.

I have 18000 more points than DH and we’ve always sailed together. That difference does not equate to the points awarded for pre-purchases or onboard spending (always on my card). I gave up long ago trying to figure out how they award points.
Bea ... My understanding is that both get the same points for cabin grade and number of nights sailed, the person paying the final bill for any onboard spending including tours etc gets the extra points hence the reason why one can be Diamond and the other Gold.

I am sure that I read that your cruise has to be fully paid in order to get a decision.

Massages were removed some time ago from Aurea.

I'm thinking that it never really left.
It seems to have been a website update to add the "upon reservation" part.
With MSC you never know, were they hoping no one would notice it was removed and only added it back after seeing comments on various social media platforms.

Depends on how busy it is, only reason for this is to control the numbers so the spa doesn't get too crowded. It's a good thing. If it's a quiet day or a quiet ship you can usually just show up when you want to.
The grid now specifically says upon reservation.

Anyone who booked prior to the change last week as shown higher up the page will or should have what you have posted, trouble is people do not always check what is included after they have booked and only find out via social media or once onboard that what they thought they had paid for is not what they are getting. Our next MSC sailing booked late last year is in the YC and I have taken photos of what is included just incase they begin tinkering with that again as they did a year or two back.

On World Europa, the Captain/Master is Dino Sagani. He is a 4th generation Captain, formerly with Princess Cruises and was also in the Italian Navy previously.
Not the best photo of moi, but it is what it is.
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/cruises/articles/meet-dino-sagani-fourth-generation-captain-latest-star-the-cruise/We have a photo with him when we sailed on the then brand new Majestic Princess.

I'm half Greek, so I have to say that the Greek officers are also quite good. But the captain of World Europa seemed like a good guy. I got the feeling that he really enjoyed interacting with the passengers.
Is it Marco Massa still ?

Brad ... Check out the front of the Chocolate bar that will tell you if it is the Diamond drink or not, though by now you already have lol.

Nikoo ... A few minutes ago I read a post on that platform from a person in Germany who says that they have been offered the option on the App of buying a Spa pass despite having an Aurea booking. Once again MSC proving that the Left hand is still refusing to tell the Right hand what is going on! Another post from someone in the UK who has just booked Aurea via a TA has been told that the Mini bar is included with her Aurea booking! that has not been the case for at least 5 years, also that the Spa is included despite what the MSC UK website says.
MSC also did the same when they removed the Drink package and Massages from Aurea, changed the website and Failed to inform people so people were booking thinking they still had them only to find out onboard they had been withdrawn.
-
Doing a dummy Aurea booking today it looks like the Spa access has been removed for new bookings, the UK, US and Canadian sites all show the same.
The free delivery of food and bath robes also appear to be gone.
Aurea has now become pointless having just the sun deck and my time dining included in what will now be over priced cabins.

Never had an issue with the cabins above, the cabins above have much smaller balconies than those on deck 9.
