  1. Hi Pam ... On all of our RCI cruises we have never heard anything about the hole in the card thing! and as Greg does look under 21 i would not have served him either LOL ..... :D

I think the only time we have done ships tours was on the Queen Victoria and only because we had a very large OBC that we used to pay for them with, sadly with tours you miss lots of other things that is one reason we prefer to travel to places by Train knowing of course that if you are late back then its your own fault. At least with Private tours you also see more than with a ships tour.

With the itinery you had at least if the ship sails its not too far to the next port and can use the Trains to get you there unlike in the Caribbean!

A few years ago we travelled from Miami by Train to Fort Lauderdale and back so that we could take a trip on the Carrie B that goes around the inland waterway and into the port.

We know it can be daunting doing things on your own but if its well planned and researched it can save you money and allow you to see things that many others on the cruise will not see, plus it helps to have a plan B for each stop ..... :)

  2. Hi Pam ... good to see you enjoyed the places you visited, it is a shame that RCI chose Villafranche over Cannes as Cannes is a much nicer place, the last time we were there the Film awards were taking place.

We did the opposite with our trips and took the Train from Cannes to Monaco which goes through Villafranche and the following year we went to Nice, make sure the next time you visit Pisa to go up the tower because the view is really good but in general the waiting time can be the 2 hours you mentioned. The one place we were not overkeen on was Florence! a case of Venice without water for us.

Again we took the Train into Rome and did the HoHo bus there, due to time we decided not to go up the Spanish steps and decided to buy some Pizza instead close to the Trevi Fountain lol.

Look forward to the rest of your review.

    Dave.

  3. Amelia ..... when you have got off the Tender at Pc walk around to the opposite side of the small harbour over the small wooden bridge and head towards the toilet area following the footpath, from here you can either follow the beach until you reach the graves or go across the vollyball court behind the toilet blcok and follow the track. .... :)

The shoes you mention would be ok for this short hike.

  4. Melissa ... you could probably do the walk one way in around 1 hour 20 minutes....the distance is about 3 miles ..... we took around 1 hour 40 ish minutes due to taking photographs.... it is a great walk but be sure to take plenty of water in a backpack or something similar..... :)

Also if you can .... print out a map from Google Earth to take with you, that way you can see where you are by the beach you are on. Maybe let somone know where you are headed as well.

  5. We found the Graves last year on our visit to Princess Cays, there is an unmade road that you can also follow to the Graves that can be found to the rear of the volleyball court which is to the Right and behind the Toilet block as you look at the Cays.... however the photo`s on Google earth that show the Graves are in the wrong place! the Graves are a little further South of where the picture is posted.

Around 2 weeks ago we once again passed by the Graves on our way down to Lighthouse point at the end of Eleuthera which is a 3 mile walk along the many beaches and involves some minor climbing for which decent footwear is needed.... the effort to get there is worth it to see the Pink sand and only your own footprints all the way along the last beach.

We took a map printed from Google Earth and followed the unmade road back to Princess Cays, again this walk requires decent footwear.... do not attempt this walk either way in Sandals.

  6. Here is a pic of the outside of L101 to L104!..... If you look at the Brown part (Top of the Bridge wherepeople are standing) there are 2 Brown Doors 1 Left and 1 Right....inbetween are the Four cabins L101 to L104 and as you can see its hardly a Restricted view!! apart from the bit in the middle....and you are only 2 doors away from getting out onto the Bridge Deck....

  7. Hey guys we will be on our first cruise on 29th November on the Ruby princess, we have booked L106 on the Port side so apart from the Wind ? has anyone any other good/ bad points regarding this cabin? we would appreciate any points that you may have about it as it is the same as the other 3 ships in the class.
