  1. For the Sao Paulo tour, i was on one of the tour, we were lucky and left Sao Paulo at a good time, there was a big car accident on the  highway that's why there was a gigantic traffic jam.  When we were at the site of the accident our guide phone other buses and he told us that you had to slow down because of the heavy rain, and the traffic will increase even more as time past.  That's not Azamara's fault.  They could not know that there will be a big accident and heavy rain.  We were able to have time to shower, change for white and have a couple f drinks  before the white night start. For the tour, they did the tour as it was in the tour descriptive, nowhere it says walking tour in the city. The restaurant for lunch had a view to die for but for me it was the food that was not good, i ate two bites and that was it, but that's me.  It did not change my exerience. We had a great guide. All the tour we took were great and we never have problem with waiting but we alway took the 08:00 tour.  We read carefully each desciptive, and we choose wisely.  We took the ilhabella tour beach with jeep, Paraty , waterfalls by 4x4 ,Buzios the Trolley, Rio the Tijuaca forest by 4X4, and the second day the Christ, sugar loaf and transfer to the airport, on that one the lunch was long because the service was slow.  The azamazing evening was wonderful except one thing, they did gave a glass of wine as we enter the venue, then walk like 20 steps and then you had to give ypur glass back before entering the room, so we had one sip of wine, that's it.  That was a lot of wine lost.

Sorry but, the nite time of the White Night is not available until you board as it is scheduled by the ship just before embarkation so not available until that time.  When you go to schedule any specialities which also cannot be scheduled until boarding, they will have the full schedule available so you can schedule at theat time.

I know that, i was curious what the cruise before us did and sometimes it's a clue. I know about specialties restaurants. This is not my first Azamara cruise :)

I’m guessing your Azamazing Evening is in Montevideo?  Carnivale and worth seeing.  I’d say they’d schedule White Night for Santos where you leave at 10pm.  There really isn’t another day you could do it whilst the shipis in dock.  Hopefully the rain will keep off for you.  It’s so much better on deck than the buffet/Cabaret Lounge.

Yes Montevideo is azamazing evening.  That what i think Santos.  I know it's confirmed while onboard, but i was curious about the cruise before us what they did, sometimes it gives us a clue.

    thank you Phil

If you read the thread you will see that what we are actually commenting on is constant loud "canned Musak" through speakers by the pool. That is what Azamara thankfully does NOT do.

Most people like the live music played on the deck by the band onboard, which can be very enjoyable. They only tend to play this on sea days of course, as most people are off the ship on a port day.

Hope the weather improves in the latter part of your cruise.

We are leaving for the cruise just after you, maybe you can answer my question when or where will be the white night

    thank you

i am packing a raincoat it seem we will have some rain too :)

  5. Something like that happen to me on Princess in Ushuaia.

For Falkland we were lucky to have the nicest day , but our guide told us that the week before, Holland America had to left more than 500 people on the island.  The captain was affraid of a storm just forming so he decide to leave without his passengers still on the island for shore excursion.  The islanders had to take those passengers to their homes for the night as there is not alot hotel room on the island.  They had to flew all those people to Ushuaia the next day.

  6. I have seen many guests on different ships acting like this. This is not OK for any reason, big big no no.  I did the same on another cruiseline. I ask the guest to speak nice and ot shout at that poor chineese girl.  Every night it was the same scenario. She was shaking as soon that table arrive. She looked at me and i smile to her to give her confidence. She show me thumbs up but one night that man went in rage after her. So i walk to her took her in my arm and tell in her ear that's it's not her fault, that man is abusive. During that time my husband got the maitre d' and he try with is little english to explain what just happen.  I still have that sweet girl in my arm crying. maitre d' talk to the gentleman outside. We never saw that man again in the dining room.  For the rest of the cruise that sweet girl came every night to my table (she was not our server) just to say hello, thanks, bring me paper flower that she made.  I just want the abuse to stop for her, and it stops.  So if you see somebody not nice to a crew member, please talk to a superior and take care of the crew member.

  7. We are open minded, but what i just read leave me with ???. We are on the march 09 cruising.  Because of Azamara pricing is so expensive now we decided to do a cruise every two years with azamara instead of two a  year with other cruise lines. We loved our three cruises so much with Azamara, that's why we decided to sacrify some cruising to be onboard those friendly ships.  We love the interaction with crew and officiers, the warmth and happiness, we love the size of the ships, the all inclusive. The special touch. I really hoped for the best .  (Sorry english is not my first language, hope not too much mistakes :))

We are Discoverer Plus so I can only assume if these have been allocated as LCV upgrades then it must be to someone at Platinum or booked even earlier.

  12. It happens to us, sydney 4x4 Blue mountains excursion.  We were loaded in a bus (around 35 people)with a big sign in front of the bus saying 4x4 blue mountains. So we got in thinking the bus will drive us where we will pick the 4x4. 15 minutes we are outside Sydney on an highway. So i asked the bus driver when we will pick up the 4x4. He said sorry no 4x4 they all broke yesterday. What. You means 8 to 10 4x4 broke yesterday.  I am not a complainer but as soon as I got onboard I went to the shore excursions desk and have the we don't know about that and i said now you know,  she said nobody complained. I said it will come as I knew that many were angry.  She said she can't do anything about it, next.  So we went our way. We met the same night many people who were on the same excursion and tehey did complain also but they received the same answer, we don't know and nobody complained. So a group of 10 we all went back at the same time so they can't give us the same answer. We  got a 50% refund with no sorry.  We did'nt want a refund we just want them to acknowledge that it is impossible that all the 4x4 broke the day before,  so i don,t what went wrong and where and just want to know the truth, i will never know :)

  13. Probably your check in time, that's the usual time for Europe and Argentina and many other countries. From the airport to downtown Buenos Aires it's about 35-45 min. So they will drop you off at the hotel. The hotel will keep your suitcases safe and you do your things and come back after 15:00.  I had that a lot.
