  1. DD was told, if she and her boyfriend break up, she can have his matching status revoked...
  2. When we haven't done aquaventure, we've just hopped into a taxi to Cabbage Beach, followed by lunch at Marina Village (Atlantis).
  3. I get it. I've always been able to drink the water, regardless of color/flavor. Miami beach (back in the 90s) was, at times, light brown. Now, I'm a bit more selective. It all comes down to what the market will bear. Our convenience stores (right outside DC) aren't cheap. Even the non-Evian bottles run $1.50 - 2.00. Of course, when I find a sale, I grab a bunch.
  4. When was the last time you looked at water bottle prices at a convenience store? $2.60 per bottle isn't all that high, especially if it is Evian. I just checked my Target app, and a liter bottle of Evian is $2.49. I'm more than happy to pay $0.11 extra per bottle if it means I don't have to worry about packing it!
  5. LMFAO. Thank you for the laugh. Their argument is just for arguments sake. I'm so tired of that mentality.
  6. Comfort Suites still shows this "As a guest at Comfort Suites Paradise Island, not only will you enjoy a Free Full American Buffet Breakfast every day, but you will have full access to Atlantis AQUAVENTURE and its exclusive facilities, including swimming pools, private beach, magnificent waterscapes, river rides, water slides, health spa, tennis courts, golf, Kids Camp, movie theatre, casino, and more! As an added bonus, you'll also have signing privileges at Atlantis, Paradise Island's many restaurants and lounges, making it a breeze to enjoy great food and tropical drinks at any time during your stay. " I agree with those who have said to forget the ships excursion. If a day pass is offered either directly through Atlantis, or through one of the local excursion companies, take it. Usually a significant savings (but not always), and so easy to get there. Easy to get your wristband when you get over to Atlantis. For our upcoming cruise, booking a day pass directly through Atlantis was MORE expensive than booking through RCL. The local companies didn't have any day passes, they said there are times when they aren't allowed to sell them, and spring break is one of those times.
  7. Have you tried calling again? I really hate how it takes multiple phone calls to things straight.
  8. That's how I feel. I think they've decided he's bringing a nice outfit for dinner (for the night she really dresses up), so that's good. We have become "old fashioned", and that's okay! I love watching DD dress up, and that she enjoys doing so. She was shocked at the amount of attention she got the first time she wore a ballgown to dinner.
  9. It's martinriese. I don'y agree with everything he says about water, but it's interesting to learn about different waters. One summer, at my fun job, we set out a dozen different waters to blind taste test them. There was definitely a difference!
  10. Please don’t hate on me for asking. DD asked me to ask you guys. We’ve always been the type to dress up, going so far as DD wearing ball gowns for formal nights. Shorts have always been a no go for us. her boyfriend says resort casual includes khaki shorts with a polo or button down. i know it won’t get him kicked out, but are shorts now acceptable?
  11. Yeah, I figured that was what you were saying, so I double checked. It reads: Hydrate healthily with 12 or 24 one-liter bottles of water delivered right to your stateroom. But the bottles in the 24 pack are about $0.30 cheaper per bottle...
  12. Order from RCL? Only option I see is 1L bottles. Going to order, just have to decide if 24 is too many.
  13. Yes, D+, and after many phone calls to RCL, his boarding pass finally shows D+. We just have our fingers crossed that he likes cruising.
  14. Okay, NGL, I can't count the number of times I drank from the garden hose... would I have allowed DD to do so? Not a chance. I am a water snob. Will I drink what I consider inferior water? If I must. One of my favorite Instagram accounts is that of a water sommelier...
  15. Is it safe to assume there are no bottle filling stations on the ships? I feel like I remember that being the case.
  16. See, now I get that... RCL logic. I've been sailing with them to get that they don't follow set rules. Was just curious to see if anyone had any insight.
  17. Why are you assuming it has anything to do with online? I had a friend that wanted to sail with us... she called. NOTHING was available.
  18. Hence my question on why something would have come available. It has nothing to do with online inventory, as the ship was SOLD OUT. So, if someone who was in an OV cancelled, why was her bid selected? There's no way it was the highest bid, and it was way under what the cabin would have cost if she had booked it originally, instead of the inside.
  19. Will be curious to hear if it works out for you.
  20. Thanks. I didn't realize I can pre-order water before I board, and that they are liter bottles. Easier than trying to have 3 of us each carry on our allotted amount of smaller bottles, I think?
  21. I didn't even realize pre-ordering water was an option. With the current pricing, it's going to cost me about $2.60 per bottle, but the listing does say 1liter bottles (not brand specific though). Easier than carrying on the allowed quantity. Does canned water come in 1 liter size?
  22. Having never used Royal Up before, I am puzzled. How on earth did DD's bid get accepted a week out from sailing, on a sold out ship? She noticed of her 3 bids, two had expired, and one said pending. Then later that day, she went from an Interior to an OV. Since the sailing was sold out, we just assumed her cabin was staying where it was. She got moved down to deck 2, which we've never been on, but since her BF has never sailed before, might be a good thing, just in case he doesn't handle the motion well?
  23. Just call back and talk to someone else. This is SO not true. They can give a C&A number before sailing, as long as there's a booking. I just double checked - her boyfriend's Set Sail Pass definitely lists him as D+ and he has never sailed before. It was confusing because the first time she called, they set him up with a C&A number, and it wasn't until a couple calls later that they finally set him up with matching status.
  24. Just be warned, especially if you wait to do it on the ship, they made it as difficult as possible for my daughter. She and her boyfriend moved in together last summer. She called and asked to status match.... no problem. She noticed his set sail pass didn't say D+, so she called again. They decided they needed proof, but didn't tell her. Since he hasn't changed his driver's license (from a different state), she offered up a copy of their lease. They said that wouldn't prove that they live together.... that was a battle she was willing to fight. Much time spent on the phone, and they finally accepted the lease as proof. But also told her to let them know if the time comes and she wants his status removed...
