You do know Royal has had their share of fights? I was onboard for one of them 15 years ago. I was referring to quality of the up charge services .. they are way over priced for value received. And Royal charges way more for the up charges than other cruise lines.

Excuse me .. this is my thread. We have been discussing multiple lines compared to Royal. Royal has always been the leader in up charging and providing inferior quality and service compared to other lines.

I’d rather go on Carnival and have a Guy’s burger .. it’s better .. and it’s free 🙂

We like to cruise all the lines. Would not do a Carnival weekend cruise as they are pretty much all “booze” cruises. But love to cruise their longer cruises. Love Carnival’s food options and quality better than Royal’s.

Guess I’ll stick with Princess’s specialty restaurants. They are still $25 for Italian and $29 for steakhouse.

Do they think they are Ruth’s Chris. Chops is now $69.60/person ($58.99 plus 18% gratuity). So not only did they raise the price but also added the gratuity which used to be included. We used to enjoy one or two nights of specialty restaurants. But not at these prices. The food is not that good. 🙄

Yes and if you saw the statement from Royal they were raising the prices of all the add ons so they could keep fares low. I am not paying anymore for my cruises than I did 25 years ago, except for tips, specialty restaurants, etc.

We have been on 6 cruises (3 different cruise lines) since the restart. Most of these issues are consistent across lines. All are short staffed, costs for extras have increased, and Wi-Fi always sucks at sea. As of April cruise lines were still having supply chain issues in getting food and supplies. Each of our cruises were out of multiple things from food to alcohol to common items in the shops. We have just gone with the flow and enjoyed our cruises. The increased charges don’t bother me, as it keeps the cruise fares low.

How do you sign up? How many times per cruise do they offer it? How much does it cost?

We were in Guadeloupe in 1996 and found a park-like area near the ship with cafes and shops. Can anyone tell me if it is still there, the name of it, and how to get there from the ship?

Thanks. Found it in the app. Already have a 6pm standing reservation for each day. I see I can book specialty restaurants for days I want and it will cancel the MDR reservations for each day.

The sail only option is normally only available for cruises within the next 2 or 3 months which we may do sometimes but normally like booking well in advance to get cabin we want.

We sail both too and agree with everything said above. Starting to sail Princess more because we do not Celebrity’s mandatory all-inclusive pricing. We are not big drinkers. Celebrity is a little more upscale and Murano’s specialty restaurant is in our opinion the best specialty restaurant at sea. Princess we love the burgers at the pool and the pizza.

I have a cruise in December. When can I book the specialty restaurants? I have one free and want to book 2 other nights too.

If you log into Princess site and pull up your booked cruise. You can select drink packages and scroll down you will see coffee card, canned soda, and bottled water.

I want to order this package. When I choose it online it does not ask which soda selection I want. When do I choose which one I want?
