IMO the Acropolis would require special walkways if it was in the UK. Absolutely lethal if it rains. That climb is steep in places. I could not do it now.

When i was on Iona last summer I used the app a couple of times to reserve tables but found they were almost immediately available. So I changed to wandering down to the restaurant and asking if any tables were available. worked just fine. For my next cruise I am going for nostalgia so will probably have my main meal at lunchtime like we did back in the 50's.

Which Lloyds pharmacy was it? My flu jab was cancelled by them last year with one days notice, lack of a pharmacist was the excuse. Maybe there is poor WiFi coverage in the cabins and extensive wiring improvements might be needed. For example a Marella ship upgraded the WiFi coverage at the last refit. I think they installed an extra 40km? of wiring for the onboard LAN 😲

Recently I have been prompted to log in to my P&O account to make reservations from the myP&O page. I have a P&O account so no problem but it seems a little strange that they did not inform us of the change.

I bought my 100 shares and they cost me £2100. I have benefited from years of dividends and OBC. In the next year I expect £420 of OBC. A good investment for me.

It may be that Iona's problem was that they could not embark the fjord pilot because of the sea state. AidaNova managed OK but they may have had the pilot already aboard when they left Flam. I have been on a Norway cruise when they did that, the pilot being qualified for more than one fjord. Iona has now changed course back towards Alesund. edit - for AidaNova read Mein Schiff 6

They are at the latitude of Trondheim so another 160nm to reach the arctic circle. At 11 knots they won't make it. Weather is sunny though.

I would hope they have some goodwill offer for the passengers as the increased onboard spend means more profit for P&O.

I notice that the Olden port schedule has Celebrity Sillouette is due in tomorrow so she will probably get the berth? If Iona ends up in Alesund expect a lot of unhappy cruisers who's fjord cruise did not have any fjords in it.

Iona was due to berth in Olden today but marine traffic website has her well west of Alesund proceding NE. The past track shows her circling off the Olden fjord entrance during the night. It appears there is no room in Alesund as Celebrity Sillouette and AidaNova have already berthed there. edit - maybe they could not board the pilot because of heavy seas but I notice Mein Schiff 6 arrived OK, perhaps because they brought the pilot with them from Flam

The excursion has two departure times, 9.45am and 1.15pm. I specifically booked the 1.15pm departure as I do not like morning departures. There is no other excursion boat shown on the marine traffic site so the 1.15 departure must have been cancelled by P&O? or maybe not available on the current cruise.

Still confused. Is there another excursion boat?

I booked this some time ago and have a 1.15 pm departure time. The P&O description states 3 hours duration and a stop for waffles and coffee as part of the deal. I am confused as Marine Traffic site has Iona just leaving Stavanger but the excursion vessel with electric drive has not yet returned to Stavanger. Anyone know what is going on? I see i could cancel the excursion and get a refund but what is the cutoff date before the cruise departs Southampton?

I have that problem as well with 5 medications. For two of them I have a few weeks spare supply but the rest are tight. Having a spare blister pack would be good but no go from the GP.

Here in the UK P&O now require a LFT test the day before boarding for cruises departing Southampton. When first announced they said 24 hours before embarkation which caused endless confusion and stress because a lot of passengers were travelling to the port 24 hours before their embarkation time, which could be delayed anyway leaving them outside the 24 hours window. After a few days confusion they amended the time to the day before embarkation. The stupid thing was Cunard and Princess, both Carnival lines, were saying the day before anyway. Keep it simple

Doh! A senior moment for me last night. I panicked and dismissed collection because everyone around here is either ill or on holiday. Thanks for the offer Sarah however the prescription might not be ready until the weekend as I will submit the request form to the GP this morning. Early because my present tablets run out on the 22nd, when I am half way up the North Sea. My friendly neighbour is returning from holiday tomorrow and she often visits Hempstead Valley. With the large number of CCers who live around here we could end up with a Trilby and Times convention 😁

As my cruise on the 21st approaches I have a Boots repeat prescription to collect but don't want to do so before the day before embarkation LFT test in case I get infected collecting the prescription. Of course FAQ's don't give the answer and the pharmacy never answers the phone. Does anyone know how long will a made up prescription be held for collection in Boots?

I suppose this is a related issue. Back in January after paying the final balance I managed to cancel that Iona Canaries cruise or rather get it moved to next January which is fully paid for. Unfortunately there was no availabiltiy for the Canaries and I ended up with a Med one instead. The decision had to be made THEN on the phone. The 'new' cruise is £365 cheaper and a refund was promised. With these shenanigans I will leave it for now. The interesting bit is I do have a Iona Canaries cruise booked for next January, the one before the Med one!. I will attempt to cancel the med one and have the balance transferred to the Canaries one. Wish me luck! edit - it might be easier just to cancel the med cruise and use the money to pay for the Canaries cruise. I hope you can get the balance refunded minus the deposit as long as you cancel before final payment date.
