  1. We will be flying out with a reservation made using EZ air on Friday. DO I need to bring any actual document to the airport with me or just show up at the Delta counter and they will have all of our information? I have an itinerary from Princess, but have never been emailed a e-ticket or anything like that. Thanks!

  2. I was reading on Trip advisor and it looks like many people were saying that in order to experience really good snorkeling, it was necessary to go by boat with a tour group. My husband would like to snorkel but I would rather stay on the beach. Is it worth it for him to take a tour through blue divers tour group or would he be able to Find sufficiently good snorkeling on his own anywhere? If he does go snorkeling with the group, would I be safe to stay on the beach by myself for those three hours?

  3. This might be a silly question, but we love listening to music at our house. We use pandora and youtube quite a bit for this. Is there any way to listen to music in your stateroom without being connected to the internet? (radio, music stations on the TV, etc??) Thanks!

  4. We will be staying at the GalleryOne in Ft. Lauderdale before our cruise. Could you give me some suggestions of good restaurants within walking distance for dinner and then breakfast the next morning? For dinner, we don't need anything fancy (we will be enjoying tons of great food on the cruise!) and would prefer somewhere reasonably priced but good food and a decent atmosphere to enjoy while we eat. We like many types of food and aren't too picky! In the morning, we will just want somewhere very close where we can grab a quick bite for breakfast before heading to the pier. Somewhere quick and simple would work great! Thanks so much!

  5. My husband loves to snorkel and it is probably the thing he is looking most forward to this cruise! Would you suggest booking an excursion or going out on our own. I will NOT be snorkeling (reading a book is more my thing! :) ) He is really interested in the coral reef he has heard mentioned. Is it easy to find snorkeling spots on our own or is an excursion a better plan? Thank you!

  6. We will be taking a cruise in March to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. We very, very rarely leave our kids overnight, so this is a stretch (even though they will be having a great time with grandma and grandpa! :) ) Other than buying the internet package, which I am thinking is on the pricey side, what is the best way for me to touch base with home? If I text while on the ship I am assuming it will be expensive? Can I use the wifi at the ports to text/call? Do apps like Viber work when out of the country or would there still be a fee? We will port in Princess Cays and Grand Turk. I have Verizon in case that makes a difference at all... Thanks!

  7. Going on a Princess cruise in March. Our travel agent suggested Princess transfers from the port to the airport because she said you may have to wait a while for a taxi when that many people are disembarking the ship. Do you find that to be true? Transfers would be $38 total for the two of us. I figure uber or a taxi would be less but also don't want to have to wait a long time.

  8. DH and I will be leaving in two months for our 10 yr anniversary cruise on the Emerald. It is our first Princess cruise, and as it gets closer, I had a few questions for the experts on this board. :)

    1) Do you suggest booking the Sanctuary at all? We have a balcony cabin, so will be spending a lot of time out there, but wondering if the Sanctuary would be worth it for a day. We are not drinkers (unless soda counts!) so having drinks brought to us is not something that is important to us.

2)How early do we need to be at MUTS and the shows to get a seat? We don't need front row seats by any means, but want to make sure we can find a chair!

    3) Is The Crown Grille really that much better than the MDR? We took a cruise on RCI 7 years ago and never ate at any of the specialty restaurants and were perfectly happy in the MDR. Is the Crown Grille a must in your opinion?

    4) Any tips on what to plan on at Princess Cays or Grand Turk? Those are our ports, and we are wondering if they are good places to skip an excursion and just spend time on the beach. DH loves to snorkel and I love to read, and some of what Ive read sounds like you would be able to do those things and enjoy the islands on your own without any organized excursions. But if there is any not to be missed at either of those places, we are openminded about it.

5)DH wants to know about the fitness center. Is it free? What equipment is offered there? Is it often full?

    6) Where do you suggest eating breakfast? If you do room service, can you get hot items like eggs and bacon, or is it more continental?

7)Any not to be missed areas on the ship?

Thanks so much for humoring me and my long list of questions! It will probably be 10 more years before we get away for another "real" vacation together, so we want to make sure we do everything we can to have a great time!

  9. I am a bit of a germ phone when on vacation and I generally bring clorox wipes to hotels, etc. to wipe off faucets, door handles, remotes, etc... in our room. A while back, I remember a poster mentioning a certain type of wipe that was better than clorox wipes for killing norovirus and other germs on surfaces in their ship's cabin. Does anyone have a certain brand they recommend? Thanks!
