  1. Can you request that a cheese and fruit tray ordered from fun shops prior to embark be delivered to your cabin say on the 3rd day of sailing? Just curious, if I wanted to host other guests, etc... a party.

When you order prior to embarkation through the Fun Shops, you can pick any day and time-frame for delivery. You will also pre-pay for the item(s).

  2. I am new to CC and cruising in general. This being said, to seems to me in the last few months as I have been getting acclimated here; there have been lots of CCL changes IMO. Though many changes are somewhat minor to me at this time but not to all here on the CC soap opera "As the Ship Docks." Ha Ha Ha.

Are some of these changes happening now been in the works for a long time? Or is it just my timing here and everything coming together like a perfect storm? I understand the industry needs to keep evolving but, is the frequency of J.Heald "announcements" and the like normal things to expect from Carnival?

My cruise is 8 months out but have been mentally setting up plans/ lists, not sure how good of an idea this is. I mean I am not going out buying bottled water yet only finding out I can't bring it aboard anymore for example. Or telling my DW about her getting to go to the VIFP party she that has now changed to a drink coupon being that she is gold. These changes are rather minor but I wonder what else is in store before we travel.

Welcome to what I call LIFE. It's all about change. It happens constantly with every aspect of life.

  3. I have been reminded recently about the fact that Carnival offers Luggage Express. I might like to take advantage of it out of Long Beach in August, but not because of the new liquor distribution. I would use it to prevent us from having to lug around bags since our flight isn't until 4PM. We want to do some site seeing. What ports offer this service?

  4. Hi OP,

I am diabetic and I am high risk for heart failure and I am on a struck diet, I ordered the bottle water for $2.99 for twelve bottles, I can not have the Diet sodas because it has Asperatain in it which is rat poison and it affects my kidney function and my liver function, so my Dr. told me that I can not drink that He also told me I can drink a sprite if I really need the soda, it is low in sugar and no caffeine, I usually don't drink soda carbonation is not good for you anyway, I live off of water or unsweet tea. I have been on 20 cruises and I usually drink sprite if I have to have it but mostly just water and unsweet tea. I have just been diagnosed with the heart failure and I started the no salt diet and I can tell you when we go cruising I have no problem sticking to what I have to have. I don't eat the deserts I eat fruit. It is not that hard to let them know what you can and can not have they will accommodate you. Good luck and best wishes

Again, carbonated drinks are a NO - GO for gastric bypass patients.

  5. I understand you're upset. No one likes to have to change from their routine. It is lousy that you have to come up with other choices because others pushed the limits on smuggling. Diet-Rite Cola is caffeine free, very low sodium, sugar free and comes in cans. That is what my mom drinks. Not totally convenient but if you bring an empty sports bottle you could always pour the extra in that for storage. Sorry this has impacted you this way.

Gastric bypass patients cannot have carbonated beverages.

That being said, I'm cruising in December .... I'm not special or platinum, but I had gastric bypass 2 months ago. I have purchased 3 cases of water and my individual packets of crystal light are going with me. No big deal.

It does not appear that Diet Cranberry Ocean Spray comes in a can. But there are plenty of flavored diet packets to put in a water bottle.

P.S. By the time of your cruise OP, I'll bet your diabetes is gone!

  6. Just ordered one for my Sept 24 B2B cruise on Paradise. I read this last night, and figgured it had to be a mistake, and Carnival would change it pretty quick.

Tonight it's still there, so I took advantage of it.

Since they charge over $20 for 8 lg bottles, I have a feeling that price was supposed to read $12.95, at least. But I'll take the $2.95 happily. Great deal

    It's a sale not a mistake.

  7. http://www.mhross.com i just purchased insurance for 4 without them being secondary and up to 50,000 medical and trip insurance cancellation and it only cost me 96.00 total seems like a good deal to me.

I was ended up in the ship hospital with my son first asthma attack ever and the total bill was over 900.00 so i am going to be on the safe side from now on and just purchase insurance if it only cost 96.00 total.

I hate to pay it but peace of mind is priceless with 2 teenage boys. You never know when you they need sticthes or broken something or other.

Wise decision. Just note that insuremytrip.com has numerous policies and companies they deal with. You can put in all your criteria to find the best policy for you.

  8. How long after you book your cruise you can purchase trip insurance from insuremytrip??

Go to insuremytrip and look at the policies. There are different requirements for the different inclusions. My suggestion is to go in ASAP. You don't want to wait too long.
