  1. Sorry but was on the Breeze the week of 10/16 and prior to that December 2015 - no issues at all. Beds were fine - not weed and springs. Never had an issue with food, but I don't eat that much so it's not terribly important.

Sorry your cruise wasn't great. Maybe cruising is NOT for you.

  2. I am Platinum but my friend, in another cabin, is not. I would like to board early but her paperwork says 12:30. I thought in the past that bookings that were linked to a Platinum passenger booking could board with the Platinum passenger. Does it still work that way?

I believe they stopped this. Because how many would link their cruises then...

  3. Even if we only bring 2 bottles, why can't we put in our checked bags? If I'm carrying all my luggage at once, don't they just scan all bags?

E the rules you say you read say in your CARRYON.

  4. Rule is ONE bottle per adult OVER the age of 21. They will take two bottles from you. Rumor is that you will not get them back. Why bother? Just follow the rules and enjoy your cruise.

  5. To speed up MDR dining ask your waiter for the desert menu when you get the main menu. Tell the wait staff you're in a hurry. Order desert when you order your meal. It will cut down on that wait time between entree and desert.

Would only do this if there were no others at the table.

To the OP, not being critical but if you want to be on a strict time schedule, the MDR isn't for you. Do leisurely meals at the buffet, pizza, etc. The waitstaff have MANY tables now and have a rhythm so to speak. If they have to hurry your table up, then someone else's table ma be subjected to wait longer than they should have to.

  6. From all the responses it sounds like some ships have adopted it, and some have not. Two cheers for Carnival and their well-known consistency! :)

Yep, and I forgot to mention those cookies. I wasn't sure if they were only offered after 11 pm as part of Pizza Pirate Plus, or if they had 'em up there all the time.

Did you visit there after 11 pm and before 1 am? They put the expanded menu out (with "Plus" printed below the regular Pizza Pirate logo) at 11 pm or a little thereafter, and it's only offered for two hours.

    Yes! Not stupid...no "plus" menu.

  7. The Breeze has the plus menu 11PM to 1AM.

Lasagna, Caesar Salad, Meatball sub in addition to the regular pizza.

Interesting...I got off the Breeze a week ago today and they most certainly did NOT have the expanded menu at the Pizza Place.

  8. Thanks, I do realize that. I'm just curious about the wait times to board with the new system and a little gun shy as my last cruise with Carnival (albeit a LONG time ago) was about a 3-4hour wait to board and I'm trying to avoid that at all cost with my LO in tow.

Just trying to get a feel for the average wait to board at 11 vs 1pm.

I was in Galveston a couple of weeks ago. I checked in about 10:15/10:30. Didn't board till almost noon. I had FTTF. I think the later your check-in time, the quicker the process.

POM is not staggering check-in for all ships so only Vista will be doing it. Since Vista isn't even here yet, it's hard to speculate.

  9. You say that you have the 11-11:30 slot, understand that is a CHECK-IN time, is is NOT a boarding time. It's possible that that they will start boarding around that time and you could be zone 1 or 2. But you would wait for wedding parties, diamond, platinum and then FTTF before they start calling zones. If you want to wait you can, honestly if that's what you choose to do, maybe change your check-in time to 1:00/1:30 and chances are you will be able to check-in and board all at once.

Just a thought. Regardless, enjoy your cruise!

  10. I think robes are only in suites now but if you ask your steward they can usually round you up a couple if you want. I've heard others have asked and they were put in their room for them.

Now you need to do faster to the fun, be booked into a suite, be platinum or diamond to have your luggage delivered to your room faster.

You may or may not be asked if you want room cleaning once or twice a day. You are suppose to still have a choice of twice a day service but some stewards are insisting you choose one or the other. If you press you can get both since that is Carnivals policy. No more chocolates on the pillows, no more turn down service at night. No more lobster or steak (think steak was cut) on cruises less than 7 days unless you want to pay for it.

You still have free room service but you also have a extra pay for options on the room service menu like hot wings, fries etc.

You can no long carry on water or any other beverages in bottles other than 2 bottles of wine. Only 12-12oz or smaller cans of soda per person are allowed to be carried on.

That's all I can think of, most of those you probably already know about.

    Robes are in Spa rooms.

Turn down service, sans chocolate, is offered if you choose evening or both.

Flat iron steak IS OFFERED EVERY night in the dining room.

Continental breakfast and sandwiches are still offered free of charge. Hot items (not breakfast) are offered at an additional charge-don't order and you don't pay! You are not required to pay for something you don't want..

  11. We are cruising in Dec on the Splendor and the last time we sailed on her they didn't have staggered check ins. How does it work at Miami? We have the 10:30 am slot. Do you recall when they actually started boarding?

U have. CHECK-IN time NOT a boarding time.
