  1. I guess prepaid parking is a fairly new option? I just saw that on the port web site. You'll still have to wait on line behind the people who got to the port earlier. You just won't have to pay once you get to the parking warehouse. So I suppose it will speed up your entry by a minute or two. :D

One disadvantage I see is if you wind up not parking and have to attempt getting a refund.

Thanks for the reply. It did say you must cancel 24 hours in advance to get a refund. That did make me pause but if there is a problem and we don't go I will submit it to my trip insurance. I was hoping for a prepaid only line for parking. [emoji1] I did go ahead and pay and will report back if there is anything good or bad to say about it.

  2. Just wanted to share my excitement about the last minute (for us at least) cruise I am taking with my friend. We board the Ecstacy on the 28th. We have already purchased Cheers for the room and I chose my check in time. Is there anything else I should do ASAP? We both have valid passports so that isn't an issue.

    Thanks!

  3. I had only minimal peeling and that stopped about a week ago so I am trying again. I did do a better soak this time before putting the booties on and put on a pair of close fitting socks to help make sure all of my foot is in contact with the liner. I have small feet so I am not sure if it all was touching last time. Now to do homework for the next 90 minutes while it works.

  4. It took eight day for me but the peeling finally began today. It looks horrible and it takes all my will power not to pick at it. I will come back and report again when it's finished. I do have one question for those who have used it. Did you have any trouble with blisters after the callous layer was gone?

  5. My husband is a bit larger than you are and we were able to do the helmet diving with no problem. We booked it privately on our last trip there. We did have a health form to fill out and if you have certain conditions (like high blood pressure) you had to bring a letter from your doctor.

It was a great experience! We went in May when the water temps were still chilly and there was even wetsuits that were large enough.

We will do this again when we return to Bermuda!

  6. We were in Bermuda on a land based trip this past year for Bermuda Day. You will want to be aware that the busses are on a reduced schedule and very, very full on that day. We were staying in the St. George area and took the ferry to Dockyard for our helmet dive that afternoon.

Since the schedule was reduced we couldn't get the ferry back to St. George and took the ferry to Hamilton and walked to the the bus terminal from there. We waited for over an hour to get on a bus at the terminal and experienced the only rude people we have ever

encountered there. They were loudly shouting that the busses should only be for those who lived there and not for tourists. If we are ever in Bermuda for that holiday again we will stay close and avoid public transportation on that day.

I would plan much more than usual time to get places that day due to the reduced schedule and high usage on Bermuda Day.

  7. We did the helmet dive on our land based vacation to Bermuda at the end of May. I am a non swimmer with some issues about water in my face and had the best time. As was said your whole head stays completely dry.

This was one of the best things I have ever experienced. I learned quite a bit and loved the glimpse into the ocean you get. We felt that it was very reasonably priced for what it is and will do it again on our next trip to Bermuda.

  8. Mousey thank you so much!

Grandma was my fashion and shopping buddy and I have kept many of her things. She was always out for a bargain and even specifically picked out and bought the classic black suit for me to wear to her funeral (which I did wear to it). She found it marked down from $180 to $1. LOL

  9. Thanks for the link! I read your blog and it has some great ideas. I am only taking one dress (this is a land vacation to Bermuda) and it is blue. My Grandmother passed away in January and when going through her things I found a drawer full of scarves, three of them match the dress and will be going with me. I have a color scheme and think I will have no problem with this. I still have 58 days to go.

  10. I am an overpacked and as a result my suitcase was huge. Up until now we have mostly driven to both cruise and land vacations so it wasn't ever an issue.

This year we are flying to Bermuda and had to buy new luggage so I am turning over a new leaf. I have purchased capris in three colors (black, tan and olive) and will be taking tops that will match at least two of the bottoms. All of those tops and bottoms look ok if they get a little wrinkled. One nicer pair of capris and one dress with several scarves for dinner. My cover up is actually a dress too and can be used that way if needed. Shoes will be walking shoes, sandals, flats and water shoes. We are prepared to do laundry at least once. Toiletries will be as minimal as possible.

I know it is still a long way from carry on only but for me this is a big deal.
