Our cruise card says Allegro 7:45. Waiting to board.

We just received a move down offer on the Regal. We took it. Balcony to an interior (agent offered a 240 sq ft handicapped accessible). Full refund via REFUNDABLE OBC and specialty restaurant. We can do without a balcony for 5 days in rough seas and cold temps.

I leave in 6 weeks but nothing yet from princess
I received an upsell about 5 weeks before our cruise. it was a dud. I got a call from Princess today regarding a move down offer which we took (2 days before we sail). Last winter, I received a move over offer less than a week before our cruise. If the category is oversold, they will make offers.

Congrats! We just took a move down offer. 100% refund including grats and a free specialty restaurant meal for each of us.

No problem. We love to get cheese and crackers from the IC to enjoy with some wine before dinner.

I like to be prepared. Better than not...

Still waiting for the roll-out of the new beer offerings...

i know the statue is right there at sailaway from brooklyn but approximately how long until you sail under the bridge? hope its warm enough to stay outside the entire time but like to plan just in case.
i was thinking about a walk up to 19 to try to jump and touch it 🙂
The forecast, unfortunately, is looking quite abysmal at this time. Looks like a N'oreaster is gonna form for our cruise. Bring on the Bonine.

10.5 hours is barely enough. There are some good companies that offer tours, but they sell out quickly. None are cheap. 75th anniversary next June. Definitely a no brainer in my book.

For our October 27th cruise, there have been no internet packages available for pre-purchase.

The mini-suites on the bow (Marina and Lido) are large with gigantic balconies. They sell them as obstructed. The "obstruction" is having steel instead of blue glass below the railing. See this video. It's the Regal, but the same configuration.

Apparently started on Golden. There's two current threads with the "updates wine list" listing and the listing of the "new beers". To be honest, if what's posted on them is truly all the "new beer offerings", most will be sorely disappointed. Definitely doesn't live up to the hype..
Looks like the same old beer list to me.

Just wondering when the LAST time you folks saying the waffle robes don't fit were actually on a Princess cruise?
They have changed and are MUCH larger/longer now. (y)
June. Royal Princess. My 5'2 105 lb daughter couldn't even get it around her. I'm sure that they are roomy when new, but they do really shrink.
-
In my experience, if you get a new one, they are generously sized. Otherwise, good luck! My 105 lb. daughter couldn't even get one around her a couple of months ago. They shrink like crazy!

Deluxe Obstructed Balconies on this class can be amazing (see M and L 101-106). In the interest of making money, Princess offers upsells to guarantees in addition to pre-booked cabin folks now. I might be incorrect, but I thought that a GTY guaranteed AT LEAST the category you booked. It seems Princess doesn't want to do that anymore.

I'm puzzled as to why our October 27th Regal cruise still does not show any internet packages available.

We dined with Commodore Romano and his family a few years ago. He ordered special dishes (not on the menu) for the table. He also chose the wine. it was simply incredible.
-
I'm pretty certain that Romano's pension comes from a standard officer's program and the national system of Italy.
-
He has a new 24' center console boat now...and a nice new truck to tow it!

The Royal featured free liqueur and rum samples on sea days in June on deck 5 (by Celebrations) during the day.

Although it's been a decade since our last cruise, system was so simple I doubt it's changed. On first day go to MDR and politely ask to see that cruise's menus. A three ring binder with a page for every dinner is available. Odds are it's the same from the last cruise, but if there is a change they simply replace or rearange one or two pages.
We asked a head waiter on embarkation day recently (Royal Princess). Our question was greeted with a sigh and a "best guess". No binder, no help. He seemed totally "put out" by the question. We had much better luck with our own waiter, but he still didn't know much more.

We saw her on our Royal Princess British Isles cruise in June, 2018. She left before us. We shared the traditional whistle salute in Cobh with our ship blasting the Love Boat Theme. We later saw the RP2 (MV Azamara Pursuit) getting a refurb in Belfast.

Customs and Immigration are a breeze in Dublin. Not so much at Heathrow.

Wow that is a huge balcony and the mini suite has a separate bedroom from the living area. Wonderful. However how much can you really use the balcony while under sail?
We were in L104 on our recent British Isles trip and we had so very little headwind that we were able to use our balcony through the entire duration of the cruise. Our steward cautioned us to be mindful of the wind, but the door is not locked whilst at sea (as has been reported previously).
Panama Canal Excursions
in Princess Cruises
Posted
Let me just start with this...The new search feature is quite frustrating! OK, I got that out of my system.
My wife and I will be taking our first Panama Canal partial on the Island in December. As I perused the excursions, I became confused on when they start, particularly the kayak tour. Do we do the first half of the transit first and then begin the tour?...or, if we take the tour, do we miss the transit onboard the ship? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
