  1. Interesting comment and I thank you for it. Different chef preparing them?

Since you indicated that you then also ate in the MDR, did you find their preparation of scrambled eggs met your expectations?

I did not try them again for the remainder of the cruise. The powdered mix was definitely off. There was nothing that resembled eggs in the stuff they presented when I attempted to eat them.

  2. Thanks for doing the very detailed review! We were also on this cruise and concur about the weather and food. Our favorite bartender was Mar (usually found at the Retreat Bar during the day and Crooners at night). He has a photographic memory, and although I only ordered a few drinks from him, he had my name and folio # memorized after the first drink! Although we had early sitting dinner (due to my 88 year old mother), we sometimes did not make it back on board early enough to eat at that time. We were extraordinarily fortunate to be seated in the Concerto Dining Room (Anytime Dining) with James and Camille ((forward/starboard) twice, including our last night. I have been cruising since the 1970's and this team ranks with the best dining room staff I have ever had!

  3. Not so -- at least on Ruby or Emerald. Outside the exit is wind-baffled, plus there's a dogleg in

the alleyway leading to the doors.

OK...We've experienced it every time we've walked through those doors on the Ruby and Crown. My wife has even exclaimed that she would never want a stateroom in that area.

  4. Just saw this article on weather.com. It appears that the area in the Atlantic off the coast of Africa where hurricanes form is cooler this year than past years. This could affect the formation and direction of hurricanes this year. https://weather.com/storms/hurricane/news/2018-05-03-tropical-atlantic-water-temperatures-may-2018-hurricane-season

The majority of the early season storms June-mid August are of the "home grown" variety. They are more likely to affect the western Caribbean. Cape Verde season starts in mid-August and runs through October. Perhaps, you can reduce your chance of a storm by taking an eastern Caribbean cruise in July?

  5. We have sailed the Caribbean during the summer on many occasions. We love it then. The seas are generally flat calm, the diving is divine and the islands are uncrowded. Yes, there will be tropical systems in the basin during the course of the summer, however, the chances of you being inconvenienced by one are not that big. You might have an itinerary that is diverted, but even that is unlikely. It is our favorite time to bareboat charter as well. It will be hot and humid, but not that much different than any other time of the year in the region.

  6. Caribe deck balconies on Crown are large with a significant overhang. You might be able to secure your equipment from above and have plenty of room after stacking your chairs and moving the table to the side.

  7. You can forget priority, the same as bogo & $5 drinks at happy hr., its all gone. There is only one line going into the terminal at FLL, priority doesn`t begin until you get to the line to process your entrée. Wonder whagt else they will take away, might as well look for other options.

There is normally a separate security line for "VIP" at Port Everglades.

  8. This is where your "Jedi Knight" skills come into play land side. We had family join us on a BVE earlier this year which gives us Priority Boarding as well. Our paperwork did not show this. We had to inform the personnel how it worked. I heard one of the ladies say "They never tell us anything". Print off anything that shows that your accounts are linked and show it to the folks monitoring the lines. If you check with two Princess CSR's on the phone, you will probably get two different answers.
