  1. I can understand banning extension cords.  They could be a tripping hazard.  Still looking for something official from Royal banning surge suppressors.  If they don’t want to allow surge suppressors they should say that.  For the average person an extension cord is not a surge suppressor.  We like others have stated have multiple things to charge.

Hello, I am still trying to figure out the new cruise critic. Can anyone help me with finding the newest unread post on the topics? When I go to roll call I am unable to see the first unread message.

    Thanks

Over on the right of the thread is the user name of the last poster.  Under their name is a link saying how long ago it was posted.  Click on that and it will take you to last post.

  3. Thank You!!

Did you prefer a cabana on Nellie's beach as suppose to on Columbus beach? Did you feel it was worth it? Did Nellies beach get really crowded. How were you assigned your cabana? Were you able to choose before you arrived at Labadee?

Never had a cabana at Columbus beach so can’t help you. Nellies can get crowded but if you get there early, you can find a good spot. We were assigned and didn’t get to choose, I suppose that we could have had a choice but didn’t ask.

  4. I have used WiFi calling on ships in the past. You need to turn on WiFi calling before you get on the ship. You have to answer some questions for your cellular network. At least that is the way it was for me. We have Verizon. When you get on the ship, connect to ships WiFi and put phone in Airplane mode. You have to have a late model phone that allows WiFi calling. I have an iPhone 6s.

  5. Just confirming -

Classic soda package is 8.50 + 18% gratuity whether you buy it through the cruise planner or onboard correct?

We'd rather buy it for our kids onboard (so that (a) they can pick three different cups and (b) they can have Freestyle drinks at the first lunch before the cabins open); but if it's going to cost us more onboard, I'd rather bring sharpie and save the money :)

We have gotten the same cups in the room. Before we unwrap them, we go and exchange them for different styles. Never had a problem doing that.

  6. we are currently booked in 1102 on Serenade in September to Canada & New England. Noticed 9260 is now available. DH is grumbling because our cabin has bed by the balcony door. I’m thinking 9260 has sofa by the balcony but can’t access any photos. I’m I correct? Other than sofa/bed configuration, is there a discernible difference between the rooms. Just concerned that it opened this close to final payment. Opinions please.

We have stayed in both cabins on Srerenade. We prefer 9260 because occasionally you hear noise from Windjammer in 1102. We have 9260 booked again in 2020. I will have to look at pics but I believe the bed was by the balcony. It was not a problem for us. We love the aft cabins on serenade. We prefer deck 9.

  7. Create an online account and it will show drink packages, shore excursions, etc. Closer to sailing dates you will be able to make show reservations on your account. I think it is several months out that they open but not exactly sure.

  8. That may be the case then! We have always had a new one for each week and it only listed the sailing date. I didn’t even notice the second date yesterday. Mr Ski was the one that pointed it out and stated it was for both sailings. Now that you say that, it makes more sense that it would be the start and end date! I will have to burst his bubble telling him this news. He was so impressed to have the same card! He thought RC technology was finally catching up to this century.😀

Glad that I could help. Check out seapass cards for other guests on the cruise that are not on a B2B and I bet theirs have 2 dates as well.

  9. I have always had 1 seapass per leg. Last b2b. They actually collected the 1st card on turnaround day on independence which was unusual. Not sure if that has gone fleetwide or one of the many things ships do differently

On our January cruise on Serenade, they took the seapass card for the 1st leg. Said that we would get it back but we didn’t. On the 2nd leg, they said the same thing. A lot of people fussed about it so we did get it back from the Concierge. I like to keep my cards for proof of a cruise if there is ever a problem. We had taken a picture of the card for the first leg so we did have that.

We have not had them take the cards before that cruise.
