Hi Mark,
I'm following along! We sailed the Vista out of Barcelona this summer so I'm enjoying seeing all the pictures. :) I am so sorry for your loss. Big hugs to you.
-
Yes... At least on the Splendor earlier this year it was allowed. We bought an Elemis body brush because we had already had paid for our treatments and it was near the end of the cruise.

YAYYYYY!!! Another GAPearl reviewwwww!!!! Woooooo hoooooo!!!! :D:D:D
Any chance you'll be on the New year's Vista cruise??
-
Was the staff rude and lacking knowledge and not smiling?
How was your room guy?
Was the food on Lido awful?
Did you have bed bugs?
Will you never sail Carnival again and go back to Royal?
LOL...I can't. :eek::D:D:D

There was Cuban coffee! (True, it depends on who makes it but it was good nonetheless)
And also... (if you're from Miami, you'll know what I mean here) they had Cuban soda-- Materva & Jupiña!! :D:D:D
I didn't try the food.

We have stayed at the Hotel Jazz and the Arc La Rambla. Both were awesome and in walking distance to a lot of nice spots.

I'm booked in this cabin for my upcoming cruise!
I'm wondering about the noise from the IMAX on this deck... Anyone? :)

Must be unique to carnival. Frankly, you'll have to forgive me if I say I don't buy your story. I called Celebrity asking for an email address for the maitre 'd for the purpose of asking for a table by a window. They said that was impossible. Further, she said can you imagine the chaos that would unsue if 1,400 passengers (half of the total capacity of 2,800) emailed one person asking for a special table? She then said could you imagine the outcry when only a half got what they wanted?
And, this would be a weekly thing. Over the course of one month this guy would have to open, read, research, act on and supposedly answer over 5,000 emails on just table selection. That's roughly 170 A DAY. To this I'd assume you'd have to add the emails about special occasions, dietary restrictions, allergies and so one. When is he supposed to do his day job?
Then I read one post where they "asked" the maitre 'd what special treat he would like as compensation for getting two people, out of 2,000, the exact table they were asking for.
Anonymity is a powerful tool on these boards. IMHO it is abused way too often and worse, nubies buy into these distortions, myths, and eighth handed versions of what was at best a questionable truth in the first place.
The first thing we do upon boarding is go to the MDR. The restaurant staff is holding court responding to face to face questions and requests. We ask to see the table we have been assigned to. If acceptable we are done, say thanks and leave. One of the assistants physically takes you to the table. If not acceptable you join a queue of usually no more than ten people waiting to be brought before the man himself. He looks at his map and makes suggestions. I have never seen him with 1500 emails (3 reams of paper) desperately trying to find tables by a window for 1500 people, a physical impossibility.
Well... You can most definitely send an email using those addresses that are floating around on these boards. My guess is that these emails (and ship codes) are not publicized for the reasons that you have stated in your email and then some.
I guess folks don't realize (or maybe they simply don't care) that the Maître d's have very busy schedules. I think it's horrible that the emails continue to be passed around on these boards when clearly they are internal company addresses not meant for the public.
Can't people just stand in line on the first day of their cruise and meet with the staff face-to-face for a request like the good ol days? :)

THEIR CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES ARE THE GREATESTTTTTT!!!!! <33333333

This review has been my daily lunchtime entertainment! Thanks so much for doing it.
Can't wait for your next cruise haha... :D

I am definitely reading! I came over from the CCL boards looking for this too! lol :D Loving your new adventure!

They have little (weak) dryers attached to the desk/dresser drawer. It's awful to try and dry long hair. I always make sure to bring my dryer from home... it's well worth it!

Can the 25% OBC be applied on the 25th cruise or does it have to used on subsequent cruise?
I was told it can be your 25th or any one cruise after that.
-
Hi! You don't get a discount...You get 25% of your cruise fare back as a S&S credit.
-
On the Breeze we got a mug (one per cabin), a pin (per person), one copy of the commemorative inaugural book and a letter from Mr. Cahill. :)

What ship/port?

Hi Jane! I loved your review (read part 2 before part 1!) and I just needed to stop by.
I thought the powerpoint thing was SO funny! I do the same thing to my husband any time I plan a trip. He makes fun of me because I do it quite often and he already knows when I've got my plan of attack ready LOL...
We've been married almost 5 years. I can only hope we can be like you and your husband when we get to be your age. That picture of you two is so beautiful and so is your love for each other! :)
Happy new year! xo

I am a huge fan of the Fish n chips. I only just tried it 2 years ago and I've been on how many Carnival cruises? Anyways, I will be on the Breeze in January and I am aware no Fish n chips (I almost didn't book Breeze just for that reason). Does the ship offer this same fish (the same that is found at fish n chips) in the main dining room?
OP. they may not have fish & chips BUT the food in the Redfrog Pub is DELICIOUS!!! Maybe that will make you forget the lack of F&C. ;)
Enjoy your cruise!!

We got it too!! Very excited about the possibility!! :D:D:D
-
It shouldn't be more than an hour in regular traffic. :)
-
Haha! This made my day... Personally, I like when she says "Praw-men-ahhhde".

Decorations!
Roses ARE nicer but you pay SOOOOO much for them and then you cant even take them off the ship with you.
I vote for decorations! :)

My stomach is never feels quite right, but never enough to make me stop cruising! I used to use the patches that you put behind your ear, but on the last two cruises, they have messed with my vision. I'm going to try Dramamine on my next cruise. Fingers crossed that it works!
Dramamine or Bonine works well. IMO, Bonine is less likely to cause drowsiness. But everyone may react different to it I guess.

Not sure the purpose of this poll??
The purpose was curiosity. People post all sorts of things on here and I thought I'd ask a question.
If you must know details... My main reason for posting was that I read about a mom planning to bring her son on his first cruise. Many folks were alerting her that he may get seasick, to prepare, etc. I didn't think it was such an issue but it was brought up over and over. So I wanted a general consensus. Sorry.
