People worry too much, I know we all want to protect our love ones and try to do our best to keep every one safe. TOO much media coverage for small events that can happen any where in the world. Think Disney or Universal in Orlando, they have had there share of strange and bad things happen there as well.

Cannot find this on the RC web site. Do D+ members still get some free laundry on longer cruises?
Sorry but have not cruised for a while.

thank god it's about time.
100 % agree

For Floridians, or maybe other states, next time you renew your drivers license take a copy of your DD214 form and the new license will show your military service .

Many home now have salt water pools, but do not have to use so much chlorine choline

I agree with follow some basic rules. In this post/question, what sweat pants is the poster referring to. I have the old cotton, kind used for workouts, and I have some modern one that you can hardly tell from REAL pants, I have traveled/wore them on many long haul flights.

There are still some cruise lines that enforce the dress codes, all the NORMAL lines like RC and Carnival and others do not enforce many older rules.
WOW.... things have really changed in the last few years if they allow shorts in the dining room for dinner.I definitely want dinners to be special (which is why I bought my teenage daughters - who HATE dresses - dresses and told them they will be required to wear them)... I want us to dress up for formal nights - to me that's a huge part of what makes cruising fun! (totally agree with the McDonald's comment) I just didn't want to force my husband into a tie every single night or spend a fortune on a FULL suit unless that was expected.
Thanks for the input :D

Best answer maybe, DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY, you may go the eastern Caribbean instead, of the western Caribbean but most likely you will go some where, unless it is a direct land fall on PC within a day or two.

Hit or miss, but our experience with limoncello is DO NOT DO it. We have brought several bottles back but WHY, the stuff they sell here is just as good, and you do not have to jump though TSA hoops to bring it back. We were bringing some estate bottled limoncello and olive oil back , it made it to the US, but had to reposition it to checked luggage, and then on the way to Orlando it broke, NEW luggage LOL.

I simply sold mine at a BIG profit. RCI stock was useless as a perk getter.
-
Being D+ we have some, and I would gladly sell them. Great marketing tool for many people.
PS if you get one, and you are over packed, near over weight on your luggage they might just make you OVER WEIGHT. LOL

I have no problem with tipping the crew and always add more when GREAT service is done.
Too much focus on this thread about the adding of the tips to help the poor third world employees, when RCCL and all cruise lines profits are at an all time high, why doesn't the cruise line up there payment/salary for the crew instead of passing it on to the cruising public.

Buy only if you have excess OBC. Buy only the iPad pro model, not that the other iPads are bad, but the pro model (latest pro model) is significantly better.

I probably spend a little too much time sitting at the bar as I enjoy people watching and chatting with the bartenders (and sipping the odd cocktail). Last week on Anthem they only stocked 4 different frozen mixers: Lime, Mango, Strawberry and Coconut. Probably 75% of the frozen drinks I saw ordered were Pina Coladas followed by Mudslides and Miami Vice. Maybe it was just the pool area, but not a lot of variety seems to get ordered and I'm guessing Royal stocks their bars accordingly.
I rarely every get a fruity drink because they are all MIXES and full of SUGAR, Some might be FRESH like the Mojito but I bet they add SUGAR and I will guarantee the Margaritas are a MIX and not a very good one. Maybe you can beg a bartender to make you a fresh Margarita depending on the bar

Maybe the posters have not been to a NICE restaurant or bar in their home town. I live in Ocala Florida, and the prices on GOOD drinks are as much or more than a cruise ship. YES, you can find beer for $2-5 and wine on happy hour from some restaurants, but it is not truly drinkable. A glass of house wine is nearly $9, we find that ordering a bottle of GOOD wine in the $25 to $40 range is a better option for us. Maybe we are wine snobs but life is too short to drink bad wine.

I virtually use a CC or (debit card for abroad travel), for most every thing, any where home or travel abroad. I keep cash for small purchases or where CC are not accepted.

The big ships are nice for some people but I prefer nothing larger than the Freedom Class.
-
Why in this world with all the modern no wrinkle fabrics, any one need a steamer, or even have your clothes pressed by the ship.
-
Never understood why people worry about the Norm virus, Yes, it can ruin a cruise, but that is the chances one must take, ALL travel is not risk free.

Fewer passengers equals DREAM CRUISE

Interesting, I think the TA might be right, but why not call RC, the ships blanket visa might work. IMHO i would certainly do a paid tour, private or ships tour, St Petersburg is a special place and not easily managed on your own
-
With only mega ships on the menu, I hope not, as we really dislike the BIG ships. But when the cost of maintenance/old deco/cabins(not meeting expectation of cruisers on the ship gets potentially tooo high most likely she will have to go.

I don't really notice any "flaunting of C&A status" like you described at Guest Services. I am sure it has happened but I think that is the rare exception rather than the rule.
In our experience and we are D+, it happens more often than one would think. I will probably get flamed for this but it seems to be more WOMEN doing it than men

OPPs bad mistake. I posted early that the prices of the ship are higher than or something like that and service was not exceptional. Last night I had to go to a Art reception with my lady and checked the price of a local upscale restaurant in Ocala Florida. Anyway a similar meal without desert was $46 dollars and wine was a similar price. So if you get a decent discount on a cruise ship the experience might be WELL worth it.
