  1. Did nobody know- thats the next step in the " Modern Luxury " concept- elevators are only for wheel chairs users and suite guests. Guest who are in lower class cabins- such as a balcony or below have to use the stairs! :D

Of course in due time they sell a nice elevator package. I heard it goes by day , week or the whole of the cruise- which of course would be the best valued package!

Yeah yeah they are clever aren´t they!

    good post.

  2. I agree, that they are hawking the Restaurant on X as well. Many nights there are few people early but maybe some later diners. We have found them not truly worth it, except for rare occasions.

However, if a cruiser lives in the woods with no nice restaurants around, they might be a special place to dine.

  3. I, like many on this board are D to D+ or above, so we have done a lot of cruises. My experience, and I always cary a multitool and other things like camping eating combo tools since many of my trips are always extended. I have only had my "one" of my knifes confiscated but the other tools were given back to me in the naughty room and I got it back living the ship. I was called to the naughty room a year or so ago, and I nicely ask them what they were looking for since I had my usual tools, he nicely said, a knife, I opened the luggage for him and dug out the combo eating tools and he said NO problem just keep them in the room and luggage. My lady has the 2 inch knife from Swiss army and has forgotten to take it out of her carry on luggage both on airlines and ships, and only once did she lose it on a airline. It seems to be hit or miss.

  4. Makes a big difference depending on what you want to do. We did the National park rain forest tour in December. It was dark before we got back to the bus after the hike through the forest, kinda unnerving LOL. But all is OK you will not be left on the trail, the park makes sure everyone is safe before closing.

  5. That darn Azamara web site where I tried and did register, but on first login, it wanted my Captains club/leClub number, I put it in and it did not work.

I did not get a new Azamara club number from them.

  6. Not to worry...there's a lot on our website, plus it's always being updated. I find the search box at the top to be very helpful.

Some times it is helpful if you know the exact wording that the web developer is using.

Again thanks for the info, I just had to revisit this thread to find that my Captains club # is the same for Azamara LOL

  7. I'm not one who worries about food or drink, it will always be acceptable, maybe as not great, but eatable. We are elite on X and D+ on RC. I see no need to worry about making the next loyalty level, which for many people is a goal. We cruise to see the world and have almost exhausted RCCL for cruises to new places. Azamara might be different with smaller ships in the same cruising areas.

We are now looking at other cruise lines that have itineraries or cruise different/same area but different ports of call or entirely new itineraries, Like the MSC cruise from South Africa. The only draw back is a drink package as part of the reservation LOL. If they offer one at a reasonable price we are BOOKED.

  8. On a couple of things, your health/mobility, If both are good the National Express is great but, as mentioned above, is slower. The SH bus thermal is just a short walk to several hotels that are in the same parking lot, here are a couple of them, two Ibis a cheap one and yes a little better one and a sister upper scale hotel next to it.

You can if you are mobile walk and drag your luggage to the cruise port.

  9. Please let me know if anyone hears anything about surge protectors. We each have our own computer tablet, cell phone, etc, so carry a multi outlet surge protector with us to keep electronics charged.

    thanks,

Never had a problem any where, especially on a cruise ship. We have traveled much of this planet.

Funny I had a multiple port travel adaptor from a well know travel accessories company. It was for 110-120, I forgot, and tried to use it in a adaptor for South Africa, it is now in electoral gadget heaven LOL.
