I was on Celebrity's sister company, Royal Caribbean, but it took me two calls to find an agent that knew how to properly research and sell transfers from Ravenna to Venice.  I would assume that someone at Celebrity will eventually find a transfer.

Royal Caribbean sold 2 transfers between Venice and Ravenna.  One was to/from the Venice Marco Polo Airport for those arriving or departing from the airport.  The second transfer sold was to/from "Venice City Center".  Their definition of Venice City Center was a bus parking lot beside the Tronchetto Island car parking garage and People Mover station.  So, if you would be staying in Venice at a hotel before/after your cruise, you would need to get transportation from your hotel to/from the Tronchetto People Mover station to utilize the transfer bus.

Royal was charging about $55 per person for these transfers (one way) in 2023.

Thank-you MeHeartCruising!  I actually sent an email early this morning to Celebrity with my questions, but still have not had a response.  I will wait until tomorrow & if I haven't heard back I will call...again.  It is good to know that others have been able to find a transfer.

Booking a transfer should not be this difficult & Celebrity agents should have this information readily accessible for reference.🤷‍♀️

It’s been the case for the past 2 years; ships are not allowed to dock in Venice proper anymore.

Celebrity reps are as likely as not to give you the wrong answer but at least for the past two Med seasons they have offered one and at a fairly reasonable cost considering it is a 2 plus hour drive….

Thanks for your info cruisemom42.  I will try to contact Celebrity again 🤞

Celebrity has had a shuttle from Venice in the past. Are you 100% sure it is not being offered?

(There was also a cruise sponsored shuttle from the Ravenna train station which is right in town; however, a local shuttle may have replaced it now— not sure.)

I phoned Celebrity yesterday & was told that they did not offer a shuttle from Venice to the Ravenna cruise port.   I will try & call again tomorrow.   I feel as though they should, since they say the cruise departs Day 1 Venice(Ravenna)….exactly how it is written on our cruise documents.  Quite deceiving actually!

  4. I am so frustrated....our cruise states Venice(Ravenna) as departure port, but as far as I'm concerned Ravenna Cruise Port has nothing to do with Venice which is over 2 hrs away.  Now that I have vented about that....IF we decide to stay overnight in Ravenna, is there a shuttle that goes to the port from Ravenna city centre that we can book or should we secure a taxi for transport.  Celebrity cruises does not have any kind of shuttle from Venice to the port or Ravenna city centre to the port 😟

I appreciate all advice from those who have cruised out of Ravenna.

    Many thanks in advance!

never been to vancouver so just asking if its normally cool for first few days ?

    thanks

As for Vancouver weather, it is a coastal city....in the spring & fall you can expect some rainfall & some beautiful days as well.  Unpredictable!   Temps range from  10-17 C( 50-60 F)  Spring is beautiful in Vancouver.  I couldn't tell you what the first few days at sea would be like...sorry.

No one has mentioned the Elite coffee break.

We usually go on a Sea day, Speciality coffees, mimosas and plated continental breakfast is served. The attached photo shows the Ultimate platter, which I had shared with my husband, he had also had the cheese, as I am Dairy Intolerant. You can also choose a fruit platter.

It is held in the Tuscan grill.

Does anyone know if this breakfast buffet is available on the Edge or Apex?  We will be sailing on the Apex at the end of April & would love this!

What ship will you be on? Does your ship offer a shuttle to the train station? When we were there, we took the train (took tram to Blankenberge train station - easy). It is my understanding that there is now a bus to Bruges (wasn't available when we docked) - you can read about the transportation options here:

    https://zeebrugge.net/en/cruise-terminal.php

If we visit again, we would be inclined to take the public bus mentioned in the above article - imho, seems to be the most cost effective means to reach the historical center of Bruges.

Actually after reading more about the shuttle transportation....that might be the way to go with a return ticket!  Thanks again for the transportation link.  Very informative! ☺️

  8. Thank-you for all of your information. We will be sailing on the Celebrity Apex & do I not believe they have a shuttle organized to transport passengers into Bruges or to the train station, but I will look into that again.  We do not have trouble walking so I'm not concerned if we have a bit of a walk to get to the shuttle or the train station, but I would like to feel confident in the transportation that we will be depending on.   Maybe the shuttle one way & the train on the way back!   Thanks again 😀

  9. We loved breakfast in Blu & loved dinners in Blu.  You can download the Celebrity app on your phone & check the menu each day for what is offered in each restaurant.  We have not sailed on the Edge & since they have 4 different restaurants to choose from it may be different, but we always have found that the atmosphere is quieter in Blu & the service is exceptional.  That being said, everyone will have a different opinion!

Its why just hitting a button on your phone when you want for Uber or Lyft is so convenient...

Dial 7/Carmel are essentially the same thing-- car service aggregators without the slick technology. They don't own/operate any of the cars you are in or employ the drivers. I've had good experiences, I've had bad experiences with both. Prior to my company asking us to use Uber/Lyft we had a Carmel house account to I used them quite a bit. Honestly, theres no major advantage over the apps and I think that Uber/Lyft are more convenient.

I didn't realize that those companies do not own/operate any of their cars...very interesting.  We have used Uber in the past & it has worked well...& on occasion, not so well 😕

So truly, it sounds as though we are better off just calling for an Uber when we need one when we get off the ship.    Do you know if the Uber cost included the toll fare?  The other companies quote a price + tolls, + tip...& perhaps + waiting time..

We used Carmel and were happy with it. The only thing that annoyed me was that the driver was really early, and even after his first phone call when I told him we’d be off at the appointed time, he kept calling and texting me to see where we were.

I am wondering what time to book the car be there to meet us.  If we are able to walk off with our own luggage we could definitely disembark quicker, but I would hate to be delayed getting off the ship & missing our meeting time.  I assume your driver waited for you with no issue?

There are some ‘not so good’ reviews on both Dial 7 & Carmel on Trip Advisor recently....that is definitely concerning!
