I will be on her in October for an 11-day~~also was on the "Gem" in November of "2011"~~been on the "Breakaway" last October and cannot seem to get her out of my mind~~had the best cruise ever! Happy sailing!:)

I had a mini-suite on the Gem in 2011 and did not hear a thing! It was in the Aft of the ship (way back). Hope this helps! Happy sailing! I am going on her again in October for an 11-day!:)

I always leave the balcony door open~~such a nice breeze and the sound of the ocean, except one cruise~~my friend woke me up and said the guy in the balcony next to us had a bat fly into his cabin. He was screaming! When I went on the "Breakaway" last fall the door was open all the time!:)

I am doing that one and hope that it will be a fun time~~I love to listen to music and dance~~I can do without a lot of children running around! The "Breakaway" was my kind of ship! I have been on the "Gem" before in November and it was fun!:)

I sailed on the "Breakaway" last October as a solo but had a balcony cabin~~I so enjoyed every night meeting at the Studio Lounge and meeting up with some of the solo's to go to dinner with. You will meet some of the nicest people in the Studio Lounge! Some of the time I prefer to eat alone also! Happy sailing and you will love the "Breakaway"! I am going this October for 11-days solo, but on the "Gem", been on her before! Enjoy!:)

I find going on a cruise in the Summer~~too hot. I once went in June in "2008" and went to Tortola (British Virgin Islands) and I sweating so bad. I always go in the Fall and last October~~Bermuda was even very warm! I am going on a 11-day the end of October this year to five islands on the "Gem"! Happy sailing!:)

No ice machines that I know of~~your ice bucket is filled two times a day!:)

I went last October on the "Breakaway "to Bermuda and when I booked I took a "solo "cabin and kept checking until a about a month before my cruise and was able to get a balcony for $125.00 more~~the "Breakaway" is quite a ship~~fun and more fun!:)

I just love the balcony and to leave the sliding doors open at night to hear the waves~~I am in heaven~~I have taken one ocean view cabin but that was five nights so I dealt with it~~always a mini-suite or balcony! Happy Sailing!:)

I usually cruise solo and never had a problem on a cruise~~the one time I went to San Juan~~I realize I should have never gone down the back streets at night looking at shops~~never, ever do that one again! I felt so safe when I was back on the ship! I guess I did not use much common sense with that one!:)

I have been on the "Breakaway" before, so I know a mega ship and also been on the "Gem" before~~I think I am going on the "Gem" for the 11-day cruise~~I will take the train down to Grand Central and hop a cab to the pier! Thanks everyone!:)

I have an 11-day cruise booked for this October on the "Gem" and I am looking at the "Getaway"~~but would have to fly to Florida~~do not know what to do? Any suggestions?:)

I never heard a sound on the "Gem", "Spirit", "Dawn" but on the "Breakaway" I had children next door and on the other side a man with a deep-deep voice and did I hear them, only when our balconies were open! Of course I am never in my cabin anyway!:)

I never had a problem with the paper ones~~so I will keep on doing what I have been doing!:)

The "Getaway" just went under the V~~bridge~~could not see her that well due to the very bad weather~~bet she is ready to "Getaway" from this weather~~just wish I was on her!:)

I went on the "Breakaway" last October to Bermuda and it was such a fun ship, the ship is not dead after 11, there are plenty of dance parties at Spice H20, the back of the ship with the Hugh T.V. screen. This was my best cruise so far and it was my 5th! I am going on the "Gem" again in October for 11-days~~cannot wait!:)

I am going on the 11-day on October 27, 2014 on the "Gem"~~five islands~~I been on the "Gem" before and loved the ship! But I am in love with the "Breakaway"~~had so much fun and so much to do! Happy sailing!:)

Spice H20 is a great place~~that is where we had our sailaway on the "Breakaway" last October!:)

Thanks for sharing~~you can sure tell the "Getaway" and the "Breakaway" are sisters~~I enjoyed the "Breakaway" so much and big~~but never felt crowded! I am going on the "Gem" in October for the 11-day~~cannot wait!:)
